Yea I can totally see where youre coming from, I myself feel like the potential for GTAO is phenomenal and the game is pretty good for the most part (with some issues here and there), but at its current state something is lacking. Agree, they are spoiled. I myself play since nintendo 64. Still, people have right to express their opinion about something. GTA forums serves for everything that relates to GTA. I saw couple of times here complaining from older guys.

Nah, not quite. GTA is a much bigger project, sure RDR had it's magic, but they're even planning to port the game to nextgen so as long as they release new dlc (assuming that they're not as cràppy as the last one) people are going to play the game.

Guys. Sorry for off-top. Does RDR has good multiplayer?

For me it was great. Only problem is: story mode is so freakin' good that multiplayer seems kinda weak. But it's great also. Fair combat system, skill is important.

 

try MAX PAYNE 3. it's R* best multiplayer game so far. they have done EVERYTHING right there. apart from splitting the community into soft lock/free aim. fully fleshed out, more intense gameplay than in the singleplayer campaign. can't say that about RDR or GTA V

Max Payne 3 multiplayer sucks, there is no weapon balance at all. Good luck starting as a new player when every rank 40+ and their mothers are running around with sawn off shotguns that have ridicilous range. They are like the 1887's from mw2 before they got patched.

If below 30FPS with constant texture pop-in and failure is the Bullshark Testosterone version for you, I genuinely feel sorry for you. This year has been a beta test run for the real version of the game, which none of us have played.

IV was active for 2-3 years before it was taken over by hackers.

Not sure how people think RDR was a "much better" game... RDR was good, but the online became stale too fast & the story mode was not as good as V in my opinion.

 

Honestly though GTA 4 was better than both of them in both single player & online... that game ran for 4 strong years (Still going but not quite the same) online and in the first year every lobby was always rammed full of people, every TDM was crazy & it was a fantastic game.

 

This GTA belongs on Next gen and that only... we are basically playing a beta right now on PS3 & the sooner it comes to the superior consoles, the better.

 

But to answer the question, this GTA will run for years also... You would be naive to think otherwise.

I think one of the major things in GTA IV's and RDR's online that made it fun for me was the fact that it wasn't all about killing other players. People used to come together to have a fun time doing laps around the airport, hold off cops, etc in GTA IV and take over hideouts in RDR. Occasionally there would be the one guy that got hold of an APC or buzzard and shot everyone to hell, but that wouldn't happen every single minute. GTA Online also has gang hideouts, but they're way worse than the ones in RDR, you can't do them with a posse like in RDR, the payout is so bad, etc. People avoid other players in GTA Online to not get killed. I only play in friend sessions, because I don't want to get killed when I'm bringing a car to Simeon.

 

I think GTA Online would be way better with peaceful sessions. Only when someone has a bounty it would be possible to kill someone.

Just my opinion but I didn't find RDR single player all that captivating but of course it is a more well rounded game with online in comparison to GTA but GTA has hundreds if not thousands more factors to consider in its creation.

 

 

Single player - GTAV wins hands down

 

Online - RDR wins only due to fewer issues

IV's freemode mode for 360 is still busy even though now in it's 7th year, maybe that is because you can do as you please without worrying about money and a ranking system. Together with being able to filter friendly fire and police on/off. I am also told PS3 servers are still fairly busy.

 

I fear once IV's map ends up in GTAO, R* will use that as an excuse to close IV's last gen servers

 

It's getting to the point now where I would pay for a DLC which gives GTAO the same filters and options as IV's freemode. No ranking. No money. Just do as you please, random experiences everytime you play.

Why are you trumpeting the fact that your opinion is your opinion? I know that.

 

The fact of the matter is that, regardless of what your opinion is, there are undeniably massive shortcomings in this iteration of GTAO. If the game didn't work I wouldn't have a character at 215 and another at 80+. I never said it was unplayable, just that it's neutered to the max.

 

If that weren't the case, how could R* feasibly offer all of the upcoming improvements?

Red Dead Redemption was awesome. Single Player and Online. Battling at that Fortress in Mexico, firing the cannon at them as they fired their rifle back at me while trying to get inside. Or having a long range gun fight on top of the buildings in Blackwater.

 

GTA Online just isn't what I was hoping it would be. But to completely blame Rockstar is a load of crap. Sure there are some things they could do better, but the amount of twat players is way worse. Bunch of fa**ots speeding around in Zentorno's reverse-killing or sticky bombing other fa**ots.

It might be a bit destroyed right now, due to god mode glitches and hackers spawning UFO's etc, however Rockstar can fix that. The lifespan of GTAO will be expanded even more because they are expanding to the next gen, there it will be more secure and probably more difficult for hackers to get in. However, yes eventually they will but I think people will still go on no matter.

 

Think about it, Xbox 360, PS3, Xbox 1, PS4 and also PC. Someone will play it still.

 

Edit: As for RDR, I played online once and never touched it again. Not really my thing.

From now on, expect pay-to-win in every game of theirs. It's a good business model, brings money in, big time. All they have to do is create a very addictive multiplayer experience, cash cards and then, BAM, you guessed it.

You don't have to be a genius to realize how well this model is doing for their pockets. That's what I'm afraid of, bullsh*t, you know, cash cards.

So a good multiplayer is the one where you play at level 1 and destroy everyone thats been playing for years?

 

If they are killing you from a medium range with it they are landing headshots, it is almost ineffective at a medium range otherwise. There are easy ways in Max Payne to expose cheap tactics such as sawn off camping by using the right items and the right bursts, its all about learning the game and your opponents playstyle.

Use the m500 in close quarters and shoot first or switch to free aim where everyone will kill you just as fast with dual wield pistols instead.....

 

It is a good multiplayer give it another shot its definitely worth what its going for in the recent Rockstar sale on Xbox for the SP alone.
