So the announcement of gta 5 for next gen was in June at e3. We still have no release date. Even with big rumors of when the date is, for whatever reason rockstar can't just clarify and tell us the date. Is this their thing now? Just keep the consumers in the dark and not knowing because there are a lot of people out their who went next gen after the announcement of next gen and sold their last gen copies and systems. I just don't get it I guess. Maybe thee is something I'm missing but it seems pretty clear to me

Why did they announce it if it's not ready? lol.

 

They did the same with Online and obviously hists, Even the damn game in the first place.

I'll say it again: either nothing more to say than what was shown in the teaser (better graphics, more wildlife, more peds and traffic, end of story), or there's something big they're hiding. I myself am not setting myself up for anything more than the former, so if we get the latter, even better.

I'd expect their target is before Christmas, but they're not confident enough to confirm it just yet and don't want to build up a history of missing release dates.

It's either "they don't tell us anything and it's taking to long" or "stupid C* releasing a game with glitches and bugs". Just be happy that there is even a current-gen port(that's all it is) being made.

I'm not a fanboy. Just amazed at the terrible marketing skills of a billion dollar company. Pretty positive they had next gen in the world all along. It's almost been a year. I'm sure they know a time but won't release any info. Just like with heists

Not really. Especially when heists were supposed to come on release. It's almost been a year and a lot of people now don't even care to play them.

If they didn't announce it, people would demand why it's not been made, they announced it so you could stop the e-petitions been sprouted every hour demanding it to be produced. Now they have, your wondering why they announced it? o_O really? Say and think what you will, one thing they usually don't do is rush anything out that they don't approve of, at least you know it's coming so what's the problem?

Agree completely OP...that said I do not care about the GTA V Port at this point in time since I will happily sit on PS3 not paying a subscription fee until PS4 is actually worth getting or I need a knew PC and can start gaming on that again.

From what I've seen and heard from friends this is the way Rockstar is about their games they tend not to talk much about them. Max Payne 3 was the same way, they talked a bit, then the only news was a delay to finish the game. Rockstar tends to go dark for long periods of time after talk a about a game their making for more than 15 min.

The fact that people are still talking about Heist until now proves that their "Silence Marketing" works well.

 

However, the mutual respect isn't guaranteed.

 

Look at the GTAO players now. Today they are angry. When update drops, they turn 180 degree and begin saying "thanks R* blablabla". I see them nothing difference than hungry dogs barking and then waved their tail once a fresh little meat was given.

I didn't mention anything about a conspiracy at all but if you wanna go there, I would ask why there is the all seeing eye in the opening credits of la noire. Lol.

How many f*cking times do I have to tell people that Rockstar is a private company and they don't owe you sh*t? Their deadlines let alone announcement schedule are none of your business.

 

They aren't keeping you in the dark; it's just your expectations wearing thinner than you expected.
