So once a week I go to the Social Club to find some cool deathmatches and races, and given the fact that the editor doesn't allow any creativity unless you clip and stack things I've got to say some people out there managed to make masterpieces...

But my actual question was,do people join you? Because today I tried 7 different deathmatches and races and not a single person joined...there were some who did but ended up leaving as soon as they saw that they were the only one who joined. I watch Inside Gaming play and they have full sessions every time...

Why won't people play anything?

Nope, I've found that people aren't patient enough, if they join and just see you there, they will most likely leave.

I don't bother hosting anymore, as it just seems to take way too long to get a good lobby together unless you have friends playing too.

Generally my experience with custom DMs and races have been poorly placed spawn points/check points so I tend to stay away unless I know the creator, or it's highly rated. That said, some of the funnest DMs I've joined have been player made. Just gotta sort through the sh*t to find the gems, I guess.

Yeah,I know... REALLY sucks tho.. There are some pretty awesome 83-90% races/deathmatch I'd like to play but can't because nodody else wants to.

It would be nice if everyone could just have fun in GTA0 and have decent matchmaking, but it seems like the opportunity for that is long gone now. Everyone (well, at least myself, for example) who has not completely left GTA0 has settled into a routine for things they do (free-roam, certain missions, or grinding) and don't try anything new, because as people pointed out above, most invites (which are few and far between anyway) to anything other than the few activities they know result in disappointment, not fun.

In retrospect, the user-created content idea has resulted in so much sprawl that the few good creations are lost in a sea of mediocrity, repetitiveness and outright crap. It's just human nature to eventually give up on such a bland smorgasbord.

The mechanics of this game are terrible for deathmatches. Bullets not registering at a certain distance in addition to a host of other inexcusable problems render deathmatches irrelevant.

Sometimes. It's usually just one person and/or a friend that joins my races but there have been a few times where 5 or 6 strangers joined (some accepted the invite but most through the quick job thing so make sure you have matchmaking open). There are times when I invite people for 5-10 minutes and nobody joins anyway though :(.

OP, do you have a second character? My main character is level 307, my second is level 20-something. When hosting (anything) with my second, low level character, lobbies actually become full from pressing auot-invite. And quite quickly, too.

So that would be my only tip, try hosting things from your lower level character if you're not worried about levelling up or using a particular vehicle etc.

I don't agree with the last part at all...I have over 20 really well made DM's and races. Not the retarded "20000000$ 1000000000 RP" bullsh*t or where the DM takes place on an empty field with RPGs... If you visit the Social Club you'd find really great jobs.

Well I don't get a whole lot of invites anymore, and when I do they are the same ole same for the most part. Then I'll get in one with only one other person and just wait with them, it usually ends up being the two of us. Like what is the best way to play a variety of missions? I usually just wait for an invite or joing a random job or mission.

Auto-targeting should be disabled for deathmatches regardless of the lobby you're in. Kind of defeats the point. Auto-targeting should be restricted to missions with npcs and freeroam. Most deathmatches are see someone, roll, target and shoot. Gets boring.

I was doing contact missions last night and having fun.

My partner was doing DM's (she prefers deathmatches over anything else) and all I got from her was "oh why is it always these f*cking RP jobs"

Anyway, as for getting people to join:

- make sure your network is perfect e.g. incoming ports are directed to your console and it works reliably - if you regularly suffer freezes / network errors this is an indicator something is wrong

- make sure the job you're inviting them to has a proper name and description when they're invited. Nobody will join 'super awesome DM - No translation' but they might join "Los Santos Kings - A deathmatch designed for ...." etc

- join a large crew (higher chance of it finding crew members to invite)

- make sure matchmaking is open to catch the Quick Joiners

- keep spamming the "matched players" and "crew members" buttons (ignore the 'current session' option)

- wait 30-45 seconds

The game only seems to send out a few at a time but doing the above usually helps. Sometimes I can't find people but usually I fill lobbies very quickly. If it's not full in a couple of minutes give up - not worth sitting there trying so long for 10-20 minutes of fun.

Edit: oh and the reason I say avoid current session - is most of those people probably don't want to do a DM and you waste 15 invites on them - higher chance of snagging a joiner elsewhere. They are likely too busy with their sticky bombs and Zentorno's.

Uhm no,all it took was getting on the Social Club and searching for the most liked jobs that are user created,of course getting only the high ranked ones. If you don't like cliping or stacking, that's your thing, but I can asure you that from all I've played only 1 race had a badly made loop. I do agree tho that the overwhelming majority of jobs is bullsh*t,but anyone who uses the internet should have expected that, that's what happens when you give thousands of people the power of creating content for a game. So as long as you aren't one of the people who gets mad when someone clips or stacks even though it's a great job...saying that it's hard to find such great jobs isn't really true.

Wow man thanks a lot for that! Didn't know there were ways of getting a higher chance of getting people to join, nice! Well, part of the problem is that I don't usually host my jobs,I find some high ranked jobs on the Social Club, and actually...most of them have nice names. i don't even care about the "Supper Dunkin' AWESOME mofo RACE - P.S ONLY FO' TRU GAEMERS" as they are mostly a mess of props and boosts... They're called like...Fort Senora Desert...or Naval Base. It sounds even lamer than it actually is. So I guess I'll just give up and stick to driving through free mode and hoping for something fun to happen...

I know that feel. Whenever I try to host something, nobody joins and the person that does end up joining leaves almost instantly due to lack of patience.

Maybe go to the meetup section of the forum and start a thread. You'd probably get some interest there.
