Pickup sticks tips

I've tried this mission a ton of times and I can't beat it. My helicopter always gets destroyed by the mini mart package, and then i need to get in my car and rush the warehouse, which is where I fail. haven't made it past that part.

I have a buzzard, but I'm afraid of accidentally destroying the packages. Is there some method I'm missing?

Don't use buzzard. At mini mart land just to the left of store and run into where package is behind building. Only 4 people to shoot that way. On the last warehouse I only beat it with two people so far by landing on roof and one of us jumping down while the other gave cover fire.

I heard the payout is crap too which sucks..I too haven't beaten it.

payout I got was 21980

you know where the packages are, use a buzzard but do not shoot in the area the packages are, the warehouse one is the last one, its inside a shallow garage, the first one, use a sniper from a distance to take out the guy guarding it, second one, land at the far end, thats close to the package, mini mart, take out a few guys to make a pathway to the package, get in/get out with all them, you should be fine

That mission is sooo fun.Just land the helicopter a little away from the package so it doesn't get damaged.

The most important thing with Pickup Sticks is taking your time, whilst there's a time-limit, you don't want to rush in die and lose a life on your own. It's good to have that extra life just incase. It took a few tries for me, but I finally did it SOLO the other day.

- The first one is easy, you shouldn't have any problems taking out all of the guys. Just be careful not to get shot on the Ladder, and that there isn't any more goons lurking around, as I lost a life that way before.

- At the Altruist Camp, land the Helcopter where the Gate is and work your way up from there. Most of the guys will begin to rush down, and you can pick them off. Be careful though, as one will come from outside it to where the Gate is. Make sure to take the right side all the way, and take it nice and steady.

- At the E-Mart I land at the front and simply make my way around the small wall in cover, it goes the whole way around to the right, and you can quite easily pick off all the guys. Just make sure you keep an eye on your radar so you aren't surprised.

- The last one can be tricky, but what I do is land on the Roof overlooking all of the ground and the other rooftops. There is good cover there, and you can see all of the enemies from up there, and pick them off at a steady pace. The last one always gives me trouble. Oh, and make sure you land the Helicopter in a place you can get back up too.

In my experience I think 2 players will be good enough, one player go collects the package and the other player provides cover using Sniper rifle, the last package is a bit hard where the Chinese keep coming from out of nowhere which requires all players to go get the package there's a helipad above the warehouse so you can the helicopter.

Last one you can take the car that is with the package and drive back to sandy shores. There will be plenty of time on that last timer.

In my experience, the most effective method is definitely with 2 + players. Here is a video showing how the mission can be completed using 1 Pilot and 2 Gunmen. Hope this helps you!

A shameless plug, I know :sigh:

It can be solo-ed quite effectively, the trick is to park up the helicopter a bit back and take your time. The timer resets for every package so you don't really have to worry about running out of time, provided you don't move like a cripple on a zimmerframe. Also, with the recent update to the pay system, this is probably one of the best missions to play, as it has quite a high payout if you play it right.

It's all about where you land the chopper. Doing it solo is a piece of cake once you figure out the best places to land.

If you want to use a Buzzard, be sure to land at the first location and snipe the two dudes on the catwalk before firing any missiles. At the other locations, the packages are covered enough so they're not in much danger, but if those two guys are up on the catwalk, you'll blow up the package almost every time using a Buzzard.

Another strategy with 4 players is that one drives to the cement plant right away, not getting into the chopper and starting the time until everyone else arrives at the cement plant. This will buy you some extra time (not that it's needed, really). The driver then snipes the two guys on the catwalk, and everyone else gets the package. The chopper then heads to the Altruist camp, while the driver heads to Earl's Minimart (easiest package to get). Driver can either head back to Sandy Shores as the others take care of the Frigid Warehouse, or wait to be picked up if backup is needed.

This is a fun mission. The increased payout since the update makes it a little more worthwhile to do it.
