Is there always a tank on a roof?

I was playing before, searching my ass of, trying to get a Western Daemon, I was flying over to stab city to try there when I saw this, I was alone in an open lobby.

 

Well, dispite it being on my Simeon list, my search was infuriatingly fruitless, and about 1 or 2 hours later, in the same lobby, it was near enough full, I came around the freeways to LS, into Rockford Hills area, and was blown up by the same tank, now occupied by some dick.

 

I don't recall seeing it before, but I don't really look down when flying. Is this a new thing? An old thing? Or maybe someone just flew it up there with a cargo bob, left the session and it somehow stayed?

I highly doubt a tank would spawn on the roof of a random building. Someone put a tank there and left the game.

But, at the end of the day, OP forgot the first rule of tanks - always assume all tanks are loaded (with douche).

 

Except me. I used to take my tank out, drive it near other players and then brutally not shoot them or run them over. Not that it mattered - I was typically pelted with stickies, RPGs and Supercars. Still don't think I've killed a player deliberately with it, although when I'm done with it I tend to leave it in a high-traffic zone for someone else to take, so I'm sure I'm indirectly responsible for some tank-griefing.

 

These days I just use it for Crystal Clear Out III - you earn money while you go to pick it up and bring it back to the Vagos camps.

One of the only times in an open session that I've had people work together to take out an asshole...this guy and a buddy were slaughtering the majority of the room with 2 tanks up there while 5-6 of us were going off-radar and parachuting in and blowing them up with a series of some passive mode taunting and others RPGing...then they'd call for another tank and Cargobob 2 tanks back up there and we'd go at it again

You can get around it by driving into a mission marker while in a mission vehicle and getting off/out to start the mission then quitting. It will give you a store able copy.

It is obvious that a person got a carbob and used the attachment and put the tank on the building. That's the only way a tank will be on a roof.

That's text book ScubaDave tank positioning. I've seen this a few times before OP, it's pretty uncommon though. The last time I saw this, a guy had his tank on one of the lower roofs at Arcadia Tower.

This guys name was Marcus (then some numbers), and yes, PS3. I was flying around looking for a Buzzard to try my luck against him, but he left before I got one.

 

 

If anyone is interested (I doubt it), it was shortly after my game did the "everyone leaves" trick, that's why it was empty. I was driving around alone in that lobby for a little while, didn't notice any PV's that got left over, as far as I was aware, they dissapear when the player does. That's why I was unsure.

 

And as for me putting it up there:

1, I don't have a tank (unprovable, no intention of proving it)

2, I hate the cargobob, I'd rather hang myself than fly that for more than a minute (unprovable, no intention of proving it)

3, If I did this, I'd get halfway there and think "what the f*ck am I doing?" and go do a race instead (unprovable, no intention of proving it)

4, I told you I was looking for a Daemon - factoring in random scraps, gang attacks, actually getting one as a high priority vehicle only to be shot off it outside my safehouse, etc, that took me about 3 hours driving around. I had one last try around stab city and decided to mod my bike in the near by LSC before turning it off. When I got there, there was a bike outside the small dealership opposite the LSC, low and behold, a Daemon, and everyone was in LS or Paleto. I put the tracker on it, modded it, and got ready to ride it to my safehouse and get shot at while doing so, but as I got out of the LSC, it did the "everyone leaves" trick again.

 

Don't like the white walls, going to take them off.

 

So anyway, some people were nice enough to answer properly, some thought they were a comedian, others just went off on their own little tangent insulting eachother. A typical GTA forums thread. Mods, you can do your thing now if you like, I have my answer.

I'm that douche. I would blown my tank up on the roof, jumped off, called Pegasus and landed right back up to the Vinewood cinemas and into a new tank. My girl, she likes to party all the time.

I did this once, accept, it was not empty, it has an NPC in it from military base.. started shooting at players with a wanted level, was hilarious to watch as players were confused!

When I was cruising down pass Michael's 4 car garage online a NPC car like was jumping over it but same time like it crashed? I think my game just was big time glitch session because after about 20 minutes I got disconnected.. I just did some ps3 system update idk if that's what made my games lastnight all fked online or not but yes, a random flying/Jumping over/through Michael's garage was weird.. Thought might been a player off radar but the car come from the parking lot area not over the top from Vinewood hills.

The car was that one Beverly drives in SP and is one Simeon wants but I can't think of the name atm..
