What kind of songs would you like to see if R* added new songs in a DL

As the title says, what do you guys think about adding new music titles into any of Rockstar's upcoming DLC?

Personally, I loved a majority of the songs on some stations but it wouldn't hurt to add new ones right?

Just a few artists that I would I like to see in GTA V/ GTAO:

Drake- Hold On We're Going Home

Sam Smith

John Mayer

Daley Featuring Marsha Ambrosius

etc.

Seeing as we are playing in a fictional version of Los Angelas California, I would like to see some music from The Doors. They originated from LA, playing some of their first gigs at The Whiskey A Go Go.

LA Women, Roadhouse Blues, Riders on the Storm, The End. IMO, they would fit the atmosphere perfectly.

I'm getting ready to buy Besra so I can learn how to fly one, but these radio stations are not going to cut it.

One of the things that baffle me, and most of you may not even know what I'm talking about, is how they never put a Grateful Dead song in GTA.

I want to cruise through the desert with Althea, Franklin's Tower or Fire on the Mountain blasting through my speakers.

I hope they add San Fierro map with different radio stations.

Some classical stuff, some thing about going on a killing spree whilst having classical music going in the background is quite satisfying. Just imagine after you steal your lazer and start coming back to the main city and ride of the valkyries starts playing.

 

I remember playing GTA 3 and i would switch to the classical station (Double clef FM) when doing the stunt jumps

They're unlikely to add popular, well-known songs, since those would cost the most amount of money to license. The only reason Vice City got away with having such a great soundtrack is because all its songs were already old.

 

A shame, because there isn't a single song in IV that I recognized. There's one or two in V that I have heard, but that's it.

To be honest, I was very surprised that R* did not allow us to put our own music in the game. Other video games have been doing this for YEARS, and I thought for sure that GTA V would allow us to put our own songs in the game on the radio stations.

 

At the VERY LEAST, I though R* would allow us to make a custom radio station..... like only be able to use the songs that R* put on the radio stations but be able to take your favorite songs from all the radio stations and put them all on one custom radio station.

 

R* did NEITHER of these things. This is 0.0001% sample size of everything R* did to ensure that this game had minimal fun factor, while still being able to hype everybody up for it... .to collect that $$$ on pre-orders.

 

I laugh every time someone tries defending R*.... (I'm not saying the OP is.... I'm just saying in general)

Everyone's radio stations are in-sync, so when I cruise in a mission I hear the same song as my passenger.

That kind of detail all goes to poo when people throw in custom music. Custom playlist is fine, but less immersive (not a radio station anymore) so probably not a priority. I could see that last one being added in the future though - that's a logical addition.

 

I don't think either is really a big issue - I can understand people wanting it but I've never bothered with custom music when playing a game (because I'm playing a game) and I'd rather that dev time was spent fixing bugs or adding more gameplay.

I have a USB stick with thousands of songs on my xbox featuring artists who have previously featured on GTA radio so the songs are inspired and chosen based off the previous soundtracks so i find it all fits in perfect with the world ( eg Phil Collins, Ice T, Tangerine Dream, Gang Starr, Mr Fingers, Guns N Roses a huge range over lots of genres)

Ive been crafting my custom GTA soundtrack for a long time its lots of fun and its a good way to discover great music you would probably never hear otherwise...its easy to do if anyone wants to know how its done shoot me a PM because I think its against the forum rules to post the website link that converts these to MP3s to play on your xbox

My new Samsung tv allows me to play my mp3s thru the tv whilst playing a game (or any other hdmi connected source) along with all of the games sound effects with the in game radio off on my ps3 I love this feature, can also do a full 1080p screenshot/capture to my usb flash drive so snapmatic is no longer worth using. As far as I know this (using certain smart tvs features) is the only way custom music can be played in games on a ps3, currently listening to some good 2Pac, Bob Seger greatest hits, some jazz, immortal technique, kid rock, eminem, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson and some old gta commercial mp3s saved in the tvs custom playlists - in between playing and drooling over uncharted 3 in full HD active 3d

If you're talking about the next UPDATE, then no, they will never add music to the game for free in an UPDATE
