Lamest School Rules

-MANDATORY 20 hour community service (got 16 done so far, hard to schedule cuz I have a job)

 

 

 

Mandatory community service!?!?!?!?!?!? Thats the craziest thing i've ever heard of for a school to make you do!! Back when i was in school, the rules were pretty simple.

 

- No food inside classrooms unless ok'd by teacher

 

- No cell phones or electronics in class (cd players and mp3 players could be ok'd by teachers)

 

- No solid blue or red clothing could be worn (Thanks nortenõs and surrenõs)

 

- No excessive bagginess on clothing (rarely enforced, mainly on known gang members)

 

- No 'spaghetti strap' tops for girls. Straps had to be at least 3 fingers wide (strictly enforced)

 

- Shorts and skirts for girls had to be at least at their fingertips when their arms are at their sides (strictly enforced)

Those rules aren't lame, they're completely sensible for children in a learning environment. They're totally reasonable. Just what sort of anarchical, unbounded, libertarian hellhole system are you trying to advocate here?

 

They should bring back the cane I swear.

If you were directing toward my post, i wasn't saying those were lame school rules. I was just stating the very few rules when i was in school 10 years ago. I find the mandatory 20 hrs of community servive that the OP has to do at his school pretty ridiculous though.

Is this per year? My high school required 100 community service hours in 4 years in order to graduate, and you could only get a maximum of 10 from one place. Fortunately I had it worked out with the councilor who handled that stuff that most of my Eagle scout project counted towards them. The rest wasn't that tough even with a regular job and sports year-round.

I can understand some of you guys being annoyed at the no toilet breaks except at scheduled times. Apart from the fact it causes disruption, you may find yourself in a job where you cannot go to the toilet as and when you want. It means it requires planning and some actual thought into what and when you drink fluids or eat something, along with taking toilet breaks even if you don't really feel like you can go.

 

In my current job for example, whilst going for a piss is easy enough (go find a bush) going for more than that is not feasible and usually requires a minibus or van trip back to a depot or relay room.

 

If you work in an office where you don't need to give someone your undivided attention or sit in meetings then you've lucked out but you'll find many a time in the working world where going for a sh*t or piss just isn't feasible.

I really don't know. There's stupid rules and all, but I don't pay attention to them cause honestly they're so easy to away with. No eating in class...I do anyway and no one really cares. No phones, we'll right now I'm in my government class and would you look at that...no one cares. The teacher is looking at me right now as I type this but he's really old and chill and honestly doesn't care. No bathroom breaks, I walk out of the class to take a sh*t and no one cares. The teachers here just wanna get paid and go home, they don't really care too much about enforcing rules. Last year I used to smoke my e cig in my photo class all the time and the teacher saw but didn't care. Now that I'm a senior the teachers care even less and I can get away with even more. Damn it feels good to f*ck the system haha.

The only rule they really care about is wearing wifebeater shirts which is a very stupid rule if you ask me. I don't wear those, but my friend used to all the time and he would always get dress coded. They say it's cause it's gang affiliated clothing, and my friend is a big Mexican guy I guess they thought he was in a gang or something. I mean it's summer in Southern California, it gets pretty hot so I don't see anything wrong with those kinda shirts. They care about clothes but not me smoking (well technically vaping) in class..talk about backwards rules.

Its not even a great learning environment anymore. Nobody learns, everything is about tests. Memorize this and that for the test, then forget it. Then review it for a bigger test later in the year, then forget it.

 

As far as those rules go, I agree with the phone rule only if:

- the teacher is in the middle of a lecture

- you haven't finished your assignment/test or you have but still have work for other classes to complete

- you're waiting for instructions to be given out.

 

But if you're just sitting there, finished with everything and no teacher is speaking, then why not use your phone? Its more productive than just sitting there staring at people or your desk.

 

The eating rule is stupid. If you don't leave a mess then who gives a damn?

 

The swearing rule is okay during lessons and for grades 1-8 but in high school enforcing a swearing rule is idiotic. High schoolers are gonna' swear. Period.

 

By the way nobody enforces any of those rules at my school unless they're AP teachers, the only teachers that actually give a damn about learning.

Welcome to the Public High School system in Spain where;

 

-Chairs where thrown to other students before the teacher came to class

 

- On morning breaks, a lot of people went to the WC to smoke weed, hash, do cocaine...

 

-Students sold drugs to other students.

 

-All guys carried an illegal switchblade knife. In Spain it's ilegal if you carry out on public a knife with a blade bigger than 11cm, students carried knifes with blades up to 20cm and a lot of them bough Automatic knives (Those where you press a button and the blade pops out very fast-Illegal in Spain but most of the students bought them in neighboring Andorra)

 

-Girls having sex with other students and a few getting pregnant...

 

-Teachers getting bullied and Teachers bulling kids.

 

School Rules my ass. I was educated in the f*cking jungle where everyday has hell. AND i am not joking.

I just made a quick statistic and I have to admit that out of 40 kids that where in my class, less than 10% went to college. The rest ended up being low life criminals, junkies, prostitutes or working at McDonald's... And i am not kidding.

 

That depens on your zone, but yeah, most high schools are f*cking jungles. I'm from Madrid and 75% of the schools are EXACTLY LIKE THAT, the rest are like that but less harsh LOL

Back when I was in 7th grade, my teacher made the whole class miss recess for a week because some dumbass in the class thought it was funny to steal the one of the "teacher's edition" math textbooks.

 

Never found the culprit, but the book ended up in the boy's bathroom.

 

 

P.S. My teachers would be jumping with joy if the students actually sign their names and the dates without even being told.

My grade 7 homeroom teacher, the art teacher at the school, was a pedo. His rule was that when he spoke, everyone had to stare at him and listen. If you didn't, he would stop his lesson to bitch you out.

 

Srs. A few months after I left that school and went to high school nearby, he got fired and the school sent a letter home to students saying "lel someone went to the office, lel investigating top kek".

 

Man. In class, he used to stare at some of the kids. Stand behind them, lean in real good. Dem eyes.

 

Top lel the school used to talk about him so one day he brought his "wife" and his "kid" to school. It was some Asian woman who could barely speak English and her infant kid. We were like "top lel how much did he pay her?"

 

Was awkward as f*ck. He literally just introduced her as his wife and the kid as his.....they stood up there....she left with the kid. We were like:

 

Also, in grade 9 some kid in my math class spit in the teacher's face because he was a total dickwad who failed as an actor in the 80's, had to become a math teacher, and took it out on his students. He slapped the student back in the face.

 

In grade 7 French class, our teacher was this bitchy Romanian lady who had one rule "don't touch anything on my desk". So one day this class idiot took her stapler and some other sh*t, threw it out the window. Top lel when she came back and started bitching us out. Eventually yelled at him to gtfo the class and go find it outside and bring it back in.
