Title says it all. List your school's/university's dumbest rules.

 

Bayonne HS

 

-Have 4 minutes to switch to next class. It's a big campus, and I get stuck behind slow people in the halls

-School uniform policy enforced on Halloween (are you f*cking kidding me?)

-Assigned a table at lunch. (rarely enforced)

-Can't use toilets 10 minutes before/after the class period bell

-No cell phones/electronics can be used (rule got lifted)

-Can't take pictures with phones (rarely enforced, can clearly see school whores take fake selfies of their fake tits)

-MANDATORY 20 hour community service (got 16 done so far, hard to schedule cuz I have a job)

 

 

Now that I listed some of my school's crazy rules, you should list some too.

My High School's rules weren't stupid at all. Of course 90% of the kids in my school were completely immature and bused in from the inner city or Recent transplants from Chicago meaning they didn't give two sh*ts about education and acted like little sh*t and got in trouble and complained that the rules sucked and were too strict.. When In reality if they had actually used common sense or given at least half a sh*t about school they would have been fine.

High school:

-Shorts cannot be more than a dollar bill's width above your knees.

-No leggings or spandex allowed.

-Not allowed to play cards.

-You have to have your parents check you out, even if you're 18+.

-Hats weren't allowed because they thought students would hide drugs in them.

 

Lame, but understandable, except for the fourth one.

High School:

 

- I cannot turn in my work when done and use my smart phone. But I can do no work and distract others by talking and stuff.

 

- If there is partner work I can't do it alone. (Most of the time I prefer to do class work myself)

 

- Assigned seats. Just let me sit in the corner of the room or by myself. Let people sit by their friends or whatever.

 

- No food in class. Most of the time I get hungry way before lunch and I can't eat.

I've mentioned this before, but my primary school had some bizarrely strict rules when it came to use of the cutlery. I got told off by the headmaster for eating my sausage roll and beans with a spoon instead of a knife and fork. He liked to eat with his students and enforce his fascist totalitarian regime, and he was sitting directly opposite me. Then, because my spoon had bean juices all over it, I started to use my knife and fork to eat my flapjack. He told me off again and made me use the spoon, the spoon that was covered in bean juices.

 

At this point my will had been completely broken, and I didn't even bother licking the bean juices off. So I just sat there eating my bean-flavoured flapjack.

Reminds me of my old primary/elementary school where if you wanted certain food, they'd force you to get more food that you didn't want. Like this one time I wanted some breadsticks with cheese and dipping sauce. That's it. Then they make me get more food or I get no food. Price went from $2.50 to something like $7.50. It's dumb. Now I bring my own food.

My high school had a no hats policy. Only cadets could wear their hats when outside on campus. Also having a slight tear on your pants could get you in trouble along with having an unusual hair color (green, red etc).

 

Edit: I just remembered that during my junior year, we had to wear these stupid tracker IDs because the school had an attendance problem and we were supposed to wear them visually. I had no problem obliging but it annoyed me to think that lazy morons were the reason why we got those. Eventually the school got more lenient with the "experiment" and they got rid of them the next year.

High school:

 

- Going to toilet allowed only during breaktime. Rarely enforced.

- You can't eat or drink in class. Strictly enforced with exception of the last year (allowed).

- Assigned seats. Strictly inforced. Why should I seat next to a moron when I could seat next to a friend?

- You should pay for the photocopies; you can't take the pdf file on your iPad so you avoid paying. Enforced, but I did not obey and I did not pay anything (screw them!).

- Don't talk in class. Enforced sometimes.

I went to an all boys high school with pretty strict rules.

 

- hair always had to be short. If your hair was too long (started to grow over your ears, eyebrows etc), teachers had the right to grab a pair of scissors and start cutting.

 

- also, you were not allowed to cut your hair too short. There were actually a couple of guys I knew of who were banned from school for a couple of weeks or so for having too short hair.

 

- you were not allowed to run near the headmasters' office.

 

- during winter, whether you were cold or not, you had to wear your full winter uniform every morning. Not wearing your jacket during morning assembly resulted in detention. I once forgot my jacket at home, but I had my school jersey on which I thought would be fine. Nope... Detention!!

 

- speaking of detention, I once got detention for not attending school on athletics day. I refused to go to detention, so as a result I received 6 more detentions. I didn't sit through those either and nothing happened after that. I beat the system mwahahaha!!

 

- when any female teacher (or any woman for that matter) walked into the classroom, you had to stand up.

 

- a cap was part of the full school uniform, but you were not allowed to actually wear the damn thing. No hats!

These rules came from a particular teacher, my year 8 mathematics teacher, I still thank God to this day that I only ever had her for one year.

• If you need to use the toilet during class time, you must bring a signed note from your parents saying that you have a bladder/bowel problem.
• If you got questions wrong in tests, you had to write out the correct answer 50 times in the form of a sentence, for example; The area of a [iNSERT SHAPE HERE] is calculated with [iNSERT FORMULA HERE]
• Teacher's words: "You don't do what you want at home, you do what I tell you to do at home".

TOP THOSE!

 

There was also one time when she came and took over my history class because we missed out on a maths class because of a fire drill.

 

Other general school issues and rules:

• If you wore a jacket with a hood, the hood had to be cut off.
• No matter how physically hurt someone was, the teachers simply told them to "ignore it", but if a single word was said against a teacher, it was an instant suspension.
• Sports teachers had no problem letting those walking home out a few minutes early, but if you had to leave 5 minutes early for a bus, the teachers didn't let you, because of this, I stood in the freezing rain (looking back, I could has stayed in a shop for an hour, but I didn't think back then) for one hour waiting for the next bus (my umbrella was destroyed by wind the previous day).

I had a 4th grade teacher who made a strange rule. I finished a Spelling book section before it was assigned. Not only did it help me learn that section faster, it gave me more free time afterwards. When the teacher saw it on my notebook, she told everyone not to finish homework before it gets assigned.

 

She didn't want us to learn math ahead of the class either. She even told us to refuse an early lesson from our brothers or sisters.

 

Where my parents are from, learning early would gain a lot of compliments.

My high school was really strict. We had to wear uniform for two whole years. We never had assigned seating, could war anything we wanted after the third year and could leave the school in third year with a student ID card.

 

And the restrictions on clothes was nothing too revealing or inoffensive slogans. That meant short shorts, skirts and v-necks for girls were allowed! Such bullsh*t.

Interesting. So different from the typical Italian HS.

HS in Italy is highly politicized so there's basically a lack of strict rules cause if they'd try to enforce them students would just fight back with strikes, "self-management" and/or occupation.

Strikes and protests are very common. They are usually started in universities/colleges and HS students take part in them very often.

They happen on Saturdays, cause in Italy on Saturday you are supposed to go to school (possibly the only country in Europe?).

"Self-management" of the school is usually agreed with the school administration and consists in a week where classes are organized by the students on a number of themes that are of their interest.

Occupation is a bit extreme. The students occupy the school for an indefinite time. Teachers and all the school workers are denied access for a week.

The students occupy the school and basically sleep in it to avoid losing the building. Concerts and different classes happen during occupations.

It can end either peacefully or with Police intervention. Usually it ends peacefully.

Most of these school rules are or were at my school plus

-No headphones in you ears when walking through the school hallways.

-(Senoirs) Not allowed to park you car in the second carpark though it is never used and if it is insurance purposes, why can't sign something so if something goes wrong, we pay for it.

Mandatory community service? Just go to your textbook room/media center and volunteer. That's what I did for four years.

 

OT - right after that whole sandy hook shooting, the school made us wear ID badges around our necks and stuff at all times. I did it for a week and then I stopped and nobody cared. Then around the time I stopped everybody did. The only people who wears them I remember were the freshmen

This only serves to remind me how lenient my school was. They adopted a policy of mediation with people who broke the rules regardless of what they did. Always makes me laugh to hear about how harsh it apparently is these days.

 

I head-butted some irritating little f*ck in the face in Yr11 because he'd been throwing chips at me. Repercussions- absolutely none.

 

In Yr10, one of the guys in my maths class stabbed another through the hand with a compass. He required three stitches. Repercussions- one day's lunchtime detention.

 

One of the Yr11s was caught high as a kite on his lunch break, sh*tting on the bonnet of a parked police car outside McDonalds. Repercussions- 5 days internal suspension.

 

A Yr12 was caught selling cocaine on school property. Repercussions- two week external suspension.

 

A Yr10 burned a 40-foot penis in the rugby pitch with weedkiller. Repercussions- none.

 

In Yr9, we had a seriously hot Swedish form tutor and language teacher. One of my classmates joked about her looking like a porn-star. We all though he meant figuratively until he walked in to a lesson one day with a porn mag, opened the centrefold (who was in fact the spitting image of our tutor) slammed it on the desk in front of her and said "that's you". Repercussions- a week's detention.

- not allowed to sit anywhere outside of "mid-day supervisors" line of sight at break/lunch

- assigned seats.

- no slim trousers. i'm not talking about extremely skinny jeans, i'm just talking normal trousers. nope, can't wear those, have to wear these baggy ass trousers

- no hats, sunglasses, anything

- no logos on clothing at all. if you have a logo they make you cover it up with f*cking tape or colour it in with a permanent marker

 

 

like seriously are they for real? you're not even allowed drinks in class. they lock the toilets at break/lunch. "oh but people drop litter and it's a mess"

In my High School nobody gives a sh*t about the rules. Once I was in a sports class and it was a theory lesson and we had to use the computers to research about energy systems. But half of the class was playing Soldier Of Fortune 2 against each other and the teacher kept saying "get off the games" but they didn't give a sh*t about what the teacher was saying so kept playing all the way to the end of the lesson.

- At my high school, to get out from school at breaks (to go and buy yourself lunch or just smoke, or just because your classes finished early or you just attend a couple classes a day) you would have to ask the headmaster for a signed permission and he would interview you and maybe give it to you.

 

That was almost every goddamn single day. And it made most people totally waste their break times.

 

 

- Tshirts with "offensive" content were forbidden. But for example, if you wore a Tshirt that said I'M GONNA f*ck YOU, RAPE YOUR DOG AND MURDER YOUR SISTER it wouldn't matter, no one would notice because no one at my school spoke English other than the English teachers, and they weren't good at it anyway....

 

 

- Most teachers woulnd't let you go to the restroom while in class (if you are a guy, girls were allowed because of their "lady things - PERIOD") but you couldn't use the restoom while in breaktime either because the janitors wouldn't let you in during it.... The only way to use them was being late to class.

 

- If you were spot with a cellphone on your hands or near you during class time you would get banned from school for 3 days instantly and your phone taken away from you until your parents came and request it.

 

 

 

There were more stupid rules but I don't recall all of them right now.
