Why is R* hesitant to add Heist?

I feel We haven't received heists, for the same reason gtav was advertised as 360/ps3 exclusive. MARKETING!

Like someone said, I see heist releasing around the anniversary. Along with a date for ps4/xo

Btw why wouldn't a company want 60+ million every 6months or so, after the fact of purchase?

Heist release same day as Detox.

But seriously.

Regardless of everybody's conspiracies and well thought out opinions and all'lat...

I for one can say I didn't want heist for the money. I bought Payday 2 just for the experience because I like that kind of sh*t.

I got all I need in Payday 2, as boring as it is now. Doing the actual activity with friends and having a good time trumps all of what it does pay and what it does not pay. All I care about is a good ol' bank robbing fun times..

Damn, R* I just wanna hit liks with the homies on our bank sh*t. /sadface

Every Heists thread nowadays is just a big F U to rockstar and their broken promises.

I enjoy them.

Ever considered they're attempting (loosely put) to give people more reason to play the f*cking game and not purchase $500,000 safe-houses and Z-Types within the first month of joining? People whined about how easy it was... now it's harder and everyone's crying, again.

Once pop-ups appear that advertise Cash Cards during missions or while purchasing equipment or vehicles, I will accept that Rockstar has become greedy and will no longer defend them. I am belittling those whose opinions count as "facts" - turn that statement on me if you will since I am guilty at times of doing it, too. You nor anyone else can prove Rockstar's motives behind their actions.

except for you apparantly :catspider:

Your member title suits you well. I did not claim to know Rockstar's exact motives.

Since when is "soon" a time, a date, or anything other than a word? Its coming soon.

That's why I'm mad, why don't they give us a damn date...

if i had to go out on a limb here. i'd say it's because.... GASP!

they don't know when they will be ready for release.

a shocking possibility, i know.

Hidden Zombie

I'm thinking of a mixture between "now that it's taken this long, might as well wait until next gen release" and "we underestimated the ability of players to break our game."

Think about the second part. Now I'm not suggested that it's all the players' faults, because R* should have been better equipped for the glitchfest GTaO has become. However imagine this scenario: You're a parent and you're thinking of buying your child their first cell phone. Except before you do, they broke every toy you gave them and recently trashed their video games, computer and your tv and phone. Goodbye trust factor.

I believe that this game as it is now has gotten so overrun by problems that it has caused massive delays in heists because they don't want to release something so hyped before they have decided it to be virtually bug free.

They can decide it's gonna be bug-free all they want. Someone will post an exploit within 24 hours of it coming out, if it does.

As it's been said before, heists will probably come as soon as next gen gets established.

However....people really need to be careful for what they wish for. I don't think heists are going to be allthey are cracked up to be online.

Most people have trouble with any mission outside of RR. I can count how many times morons died in missions waay too early and I was left to finish it myself.

The amount of people who are actually careful and actually care about teamwork in this game is miniscule.

If heists have a huge payout I'm sure the difficulty will be correspondingly hard.

If you actually think most people will be able to finish heists in this game without failure, you are probably very naive imo.

It will definitely take at least 1-2 failures to get it 100% without problems too. Hell maybe even 1 run, until like you said get some random that gets slaughtered bc he/she ends up trying to bum rush it play smart not hard ppl.

Heist means bunch of money.

No it doesn't.

I'm sure it'll be only slightly higher per minute earnings than the higher contact missions (and *that* will be because cash-cards). Anyone expecting to walk away with millions will be horribly disappointed when it does come out. I'm more interested for the gameplay value.

Your way of defending Rockstar is ridiculous.... I can't even say anything

Jesus... Look at how these people defending Rockstar's obvious mistake. No wonder why game industry start fooling people now. It's because idiots tolerate and support things like this. How pathetic.

I'm a bit slow picking up on this silly reply, but I was not defending Rockstar there. I was stating "high payouts" probably are not a factor - heists do not "mean big payouts".

Heists should have been delivered in Janurary.

They aren't releasing heists because they're busy working on the High-hipster-flight-bum-holiday Dlc. This DLC will include 76 new super cars, 129 assault rifles, T-shirts with the word "FAG" written on them in 9,000,000 different colors, 450 new sets of headphones, 6,000 variations of "the jerk" player action, a helicopter that costs all of your money, a boat, and the same apartment in 80 different locations.

That's a bagillion times more better-er than heists.

If you follow glassdoor.com (website where current/ex-employees review their employers)

you will see that the major reasons things get constantly delayed at Rockstar Games are:

  • Poor company management (one of the worst reviewed game companies of such caliber)
  • Limitations of the the RAGE engine itself (takes a lot more time to develop something and they have constant problems with it)

I doubt that Rockstar delays Heists on purpose (otherwise they wouldn't promise it again & again). But even if they do, it seems to me that the above reasons have quite a contribution.

I'd put stock in the fact that people have been trying/succeeding in exploiting almost EVERY money making endeavor in the game.

Pretty sure R* wised up on heists and wants to make sure that there are no bugs or bullsh*t things that can be done to make a mokery of what they believe to be the biggest selling point for GTAO.

Maybe they've been running into problems while in development? And I'm sure the insane amount and variety of hacks/glitches isn't helping anything. The problem is, they never should've put any kind of tentative date on it if it wasn't already close to ready for release cause now they've pissed off about 98% of their fanbase.

Well, first of all Rockstar has Shark Cards to sell. If we get high pay out heists they wont be makin' any money of those shark cards as much or even AT ALL after the heists come out. Or there could be another reason, maybe they're just waiting for the gta 1 year anniversary or for next gen GTA V to be released. Either way its taking way too much time. But every now and then a source code gets leaked with some more heists information, equipments, payouts etc. If 2015 begins and we dont have heists yet im gonna lose hope :|

Heists (glorified captures) will debut sometime late spring / early summer 2015, with next gen to follow shortly thereafter in summer 2015.

At this point, I think it's a collaboration of all of the modding/glitching that is going on and R* realizing that it's all they have left. Heists is their wildcard, and I think that they realized that once heists is released then that's almost the end of the road for them. As everyone has been saying, if heists gets released while all of this madness is going on then there will be no benefit to them releasing it. From a business stand point though, I hate to say it but I think it's mainly because of the timing thing. I know a lot of people think that it will only be for next gen but I don't think that would ever happen. However, I think it's a great possiblility that they noticed how close it has been getting to the next gen launch date after all of these delays, and maybe decided that it would be more strategic on their end to release heists with the launch of next gen. One thing is for sure though... They HAVE to have more up their sleeves if that's how they're going to do it. Think about it... Why would they release next gen with heists being one of the only dlc's? I know I'm even contradicting myself a bit now but I have to believe that heists might not exactly be their end game. If they chose to release next gen so late in the game, then there has to be much more dlc to come. It's hard to be faithful in R* because of the last few months, but I guess I'm hoping that all of this delay is going to pay off sooner or later. Wishful thinking? Lol.

Why "is cash card conspiracy" so ridiculous anyways? Every thread I see people are calling it crazy, tinfoil hat, stupid, pointing and laughing.

Please enlighten us on why shark cards most certainly aren't being taken into consideration with everything R* does for Online. That's how they make money.

If you ever run out of funds, R* sends you directly to shark cards to make purchases in game. This isn't rocket science people.

Common sense is the base on making these assumptions, not facts.

lol all these idiots with all their "heists are taking too long to come out!" will be the first ones to complain when they're released and are glitchy....

Heists will come when they're ready to come out. If you think it's so easy to do, go ahead and get a job at Rockstar and code and perfect the heists....

because attacking some1's credibility is really all that's left when you have no real arguments to back up your opinion.

having to resort to personal attacks in any discussion is usually a good sign of how weak the argument actually is.

I'm tellin' you, it's not the Cash Cards, for once.

It's that they're too lazy to do all the legwork/programming to do Heists for systems they've already sold tons of games for. Something tellls me it's not that hard to give us new cars and clothes. Programming a major new game feature takes time and costs money.

But if 1/10th of people who bought GTA 5 for the XBox/PS3 buy it for the new-generation systems because the new-generation versions will have heists, that's a lot of games sold.

Here's another question - what if they offered heists as a paid DLC, say, $10? Would you buy it?
