Why is R* hesitant to add Heist?

They promise us after every single update that heists will be added "SOON". Well "SOON" to them means basically a year or more. But seriously it's ridiculous. You see the demand, we want heists, what's the problem?

They started adding code for heists this TU so it should be released when the game is released for next gen or even earlier.

That's the thing man. Why would they only add it to New Gen?

Want a logic breakdown?

Apparently, they are in paradox. Why?

Because...

Heist means bunch of money.

R* wants players to buy CashCards for money.

If Heist is low paying, then it'd be nothing different than doing contact mission and players will definitely just do contact mission instead.

If Heist is time locked, Rockstar will be complained for limitation while they were promoting "unlimited possibilities" and showed that players can do Heist anytime they want in the release trailer.

If Heist is extremely difficult, that means it clearly showing that Rockstar imbalanced the difficulty because they don't want players to win.

They broke an email chain back in 2004, it basically said:

"one day you will make a game containing heists and people will love them and you will be claimed the best video game maker of all time but if you don't send this message to 10 of your friends in the next 5 minutes you will never be able to release the heists and everyone will hate you".

R* only had 9 friends. It ain't their fault, it's the curse.

Cash Card conspiracy theories plague these forums with their absurdity and lack of actual evidence (aside from justification from individuals who get pissed about microtransactions). Would sir be interested to hear about how 9/11 and the Titanic were caused by Jews and how the Illuminati are secretly aliens?

On-Topic: Coding is difficult - I for one know this from experience since even basic languages are time consuming and tedious. I assume it only got past the planning stage since fragments of the code was found recently [citiation need].

Heist means bunch of money.

No it doesn't.

I'm sure it'll be only slightly higher per minute earnings than the higher contact missions (and *that* will be because cash-cards). Anyone expecting to walk away with millions will be horribly disappointed when it does come out. I'm more interested for the gameplay value.

Simply because they aren't finished being done yet. Rockstar is notorious for taking as long as they damn desire to make sure the end result is up to their standards.

Why is it so hard for people to understand?

Why even add heists? What is the point now? For fun? How many missions to people actually do for "fun"? I find them very boring, but use to do to make money. Now that it has been this long, there is no need to do heists since most of us have everything as it is.

If heists actually do come out.....they will just be disappointing. Then again people are happy doing crappy missions with a max of 3 other people....prob the same people who hate and complain about freemode.

....the more I think about this game the less I want to play it. At first GTAO was great, then once you learned everything you can't help but feel like they didn't even try. With that said, if heists do come out and the pay out is good.....I will just troll and grief aholes in freemode. Also, killing those people who can't seem to leave the lobby, crying into their mic etc. Can't stand people in game squeaking about others bothering them when they could just leave the dang session...

As it's been said before, heists will probably come as soon as next gen gets established.

However....people really need to be careful for what they wish for. I don't think heists are going to be allthey are cracked up to be online.

Most people have trouble with any mission outside of RR. I can count how many times morons died in missions waay too early and I was left to finish it myself.

The amount of people who are actually careful and actually care about teamwork in this game is miniscule.

If heists have a huge payout I'm sure the difficulty will be correspondingly hard.

If you actually think most people will be able to finish heists in this game without failure, you are probably very naive imo.

I have to agree. Heists have been HYPED up beacause they have taken so long. So when they come out. People will see they were over-hyped. And be disappointing. No point in adding them at this point...

Yeah, that's why when GTA: Online came out it was a pure sh*t fest. The multiplayer portion was incredibly obviously rushed.

Iff they will add Heists to Xbox 360 and PS3 , the game will just explode, you see how lagging the games is now ? all textures just disappear in front of us. So in my opinion Heists will be only on PS4, and XO :)

Every game now comes in a "beta" like fashion. Gran Turismo 6, GT 6, Battlefield, Counter-Strike, etc all got released with the promise of things to come(that people paid for) and never came, and most likely will never. They just lie(I don't think they all do this on purpose though), sell copies, and move on. Now with the next gen out, why on earth would they add things to an outdated game/console.....

It is almost like they play it. Either way it doesn't matter. Much like Call of Duty, stupid people will continue to through money at them regardless if it is "finished" or not. The consumer is to blame......You/they are the reason they are getting away with it.

I think they had intended to release them in the spring, but maybe development slipped slightly, and then there were major issues and hugs that needed fixing first, so they held them back a bit, then they looked at when would be a godd time to release and the 1 year anniversary is just around the corner, so I think they may release them next month

I have an another question. Why does like 70% of this forum say "heist"? "I want heist to come out!" "When are heist coming out?"

It's heistS people, plural. Why does everyone seem to forget that when it comes to this word in particular?!

I don't think they are going to be that exciting. All this hype is because they promised it and haven't released it. Well, mostly....

Coding is difficult, of course.

But then why advertise it in the release trailer if you can't even finish it within the deadline??

It's different matter if they advertise Heist in Beta trailer.

Man, did Rockstar give you cake every night or something?

I dont understand why people think these are gonna be some huge game changer, you'll play them a few times and get bored, that mixed with empty lobbies.

To me, I just want them to mark the word they've said. From the quality that have been done to Online, I'm sure Heist will be suck. And maybe by then, I've totally completely moved on to another game.

So yeah, I just want them to deliver what they advertised in release trailer. This is the first game company I've seen who did not release thing as how they advertised in release trailer and without any further clear and non-vague information about it.

You're getting mad now, aren't you?

I am neither an idiot nor tolerant. This is an awesome game - probably the best one I've ever played in my life. When heists are released, whenever that is, it will be a welcome addition to something that I believe doesn't actually need it. That's just my opinion though. I love this game. That doesn't mean I'm suckling the teat of Rockstar. It just means I'm not a blind, self-entitled mong that has no patience and lacks imagination and creativity.

Narrow minded people like yourself are always quick to form stereotypical opinions of others who believe there is an ulterior motive behind certain things. You think R* cutting payouts, holding back heists, and making everything triple the price of SP has NOTHING to do with them squeezing out the most profit they can? You happily accept R*s actions which is fine dude...but don't belittle someone for expressing a generally well known corporate intention.
