wiizardii
Grand Theft Auto just doesn't seem like an online franchise for me. I would rather do crimes and fight cops without some 10 year old kid with a pink Adder throwing sticky bombs out the window. This has to be the best, and calmest comment made in this thread, and it says it with good words. josephene123, B Dawg, Gnocchi Flip Flops and 4 others

Gnocchi Flip Flops
I think what really made me hate GTA:Online was how restricting it was. I mean here are some things you practically couldn't do: - steal any car you wanted to customize and save - blow up players cars - go anywhere without restrictions - turn cops off - turn traffic off - be safe from anything in Passive Mode - protect your car in Passive Mode - die without paying stupidly high fees It just got annoying. Online in GTA is supposed to be about having fun. But you can't even do crazy sh*t without the cops ruining it unless you do it during a race or something. Online in GTA shouldn't be centered around worrying about your bank account. It shouldn't be about being a goody two shoes trying not to reek havoc. Cutter De Blanc
It's like they had someone's Mom think of all the rules for GTA online, so everything is fair and everyone is happy, but Moms don't really know what the kids like, so in the end the only one happy with the rules is Mom and the little nerdy kids who need Mom to protect them from life. (please note: I'm making an analogy, not referencing actual kids and moms) Edited August 26, 2014 by Cutter De Blanc SourceGod, Turkey Shenanigans, Journey_95 and 4 others

Rockstar would have made everyone happy with a simple co-op mode in which players can join your session, or you could join their session, add in the creator so you could place ramps and other objects to screw around and the ability to spawn in whatever vehicle you want and that's it, no missions, no purchasable sh*t no nothing, just pure GTA sandbox entertainment with your friends, cause everyone seems to be doing all sorts of random invented games anyway rather than playing Rockstar's dull, repetitive and crappy ''700 misssions'' (LOL) for grinding. Gnocchi Flip Flops
I couldn't have said it better myself. ^ That type of Online would've been perfect. And I doubt it would've effected sales if it was more like that and less like the crap we have now. I didn't want an overly complicated Online from the get go. When I was hyped for V back in 2012 I was hyped for the SP part of the game. When I thought about how the MP mode would be I just expected something like IV but improved with a few more much needed features. And I was actually anticipating that. A free world where I could enter sessions with the no cops and no auto-aim options selected, just so I could screw around, drive around, troll, or do road trips with randoms. If V's Online was more simple like that, I'd be fine with it. And I swear almost everyone else would have been fine with it too if we were to have never known about a feature like GTA:Online pre-launch. And if GTA:Online were more like what I suggested, then I'm almost certain SP would've been SO much better than it is right now. What I loved about multiplayer in RDR was it was an improvement over GTA IV's yet still managed to be a "secondary" part of the game. Rather than the main focus. It still pisses me off how GTAO has features that should be in single player too. Like why the f*ck can't Michael, Franklin and Trevor purchase 10 car garages, but the mute GTAO character can? Why was buying residential properties falsely alluded to being in single player also in the gameplay trailer? At least with the multiplayer modes in GTA IV and RDR things were much more honest back then. They offered us both a great single player and multiplayer too. If GTAO is the future I fear GTA VI will be even more watered down and raped than GTA V is. krashr, Voggs, Sprue and 12 others
krashr
^my theory on this is simple and still the same as it was the first time i loaded it up and realised i couldn't take a photo in game without first signing up to r* social club.. people who wanted to play online would've done so regardless, this (imo) was someone's boardroom bright idea to coax/push people who normally prefer to play offline to go online. it seems to have worked somewhat, but i feel it was done the wrong way fac316, Algonquin Assassin, A.O.D.88 and 2 others

Wylight
If GTA takes on the typical mmo trend that keeps on evolving these days, I will simply refuse to play that particular game just like I refuse to play Elder Scrolls Online. TES is my second favorite franchise right after GTA and a similar thing happened there too. They released Elder Scrolls Online which is supposed to be the biggest one so far, with the entire continent of Tamriel and all that crap and it's another typical mmo sh*t that just has the TES brand on it cause the classical SP experience of an Elder Scrolls game is completely gone. The map as of now also only features a few places that feel extremely linear. On top of it, you have to pay 15 fricking dollars a month after paying 60 dollars for the game to keep playing. All while dealing with trolls, server crashes and hoards of bugs and glitches since mmos are always gonna be buggy. TES is also a single player franchise suddenly taking on the mmo style and focusing on Online, the only difference is that TESO doesn't even feature a single player like GTAV and that is not really developed by the same people behind the previous games. If GTA follows the same path, we can say goodbye and move along. B Dawg and Sir Winthorpe Herrington

Fuzzknuckles
Can you point out to me where and in which trailer this happens, please? 4:30 Fair play. I'd forgotten that entirely. It's so crammed in at the end, perhaps they were hoping people wouldn't notice it. I reckon it was dropped right at the last minute, perhaps whatever they'd intended was either impossible or just not good enough to include. Not sure it would have really brought much to the SP game though. Signatures are dumb anyway.
PowerKracker
From an overly idealistic point of view, since they're treating GTAO as a separate game from V, I just hope they made it to get things out of the way and that the next GTA focuses more on SP as they have a base for MP... Let's also wait how GTA V is handled on PS4, Xbone and PC. If some things are made better, then I guess I can say that hardware limitations is a legitimate excuse. Sure, GTA IV was able to have more than V in some aspects on the same hardware, but remember that if you're shooting for too high on outdated hardware, you'll ultimately get things worse than if you were aiming lower. GTA V already keeps loading longer and longer with each update, so they probably cut a lot of stuff so the console doesn't explode or something. Are you talking about the game overall? Because that's already done, and hardware limitations is a legitimate excuse. Gnocchi Flip Flops
With these impressive new graphics and details, we better be able to take better looking photographs. Ones of much higher resolution with better... better everything. Speaking of photography, why can't we crouch to get better shots, or tilt the camera, or even have an increased zoom capability. REVENGE777
The A and B endings were absolutely just tacked on, but that's all I can see. I can maybe see Franklin being the last character made and thrown in, as he's irrelevant throughout most of the story. Any more than that? I'd need a convincing argument. Actually, trevor was the last character they made. Trevor was going to be a secondary character but they made him into a protag. But that statement about franklin being irrelevant would only be true for when trevor is introduced. Buuut... Im going a bit off topic...
