Memogl
I wonder how Windows 9 will look and what specifications will need.
Stinky12
Ms has decided to skip 9 and go with Windows 10 http://www.cnet.com/news/microsoft-jumps-to-windows-10/
Memogl
Why they decided to skip win9 and go to win10?
hornedturtle
Posibly because of 8.1. They might see that as 9 Another posibility is to trick people who don't know any better that they are 2-3 versions behind, not 1-2.

hornedturtle
We've noticed that programers are still coding for 20+ year old software still...are you serious? Flachbau and FranklinDeRoosevelt
RedDagger
Some people/organisations are surprisingly stubborn. Anyway, from people who have used the preview, apparently it uses a comparatively small amount of RAM, and they really like the interface. I'm hoping this ends up being a 'good' OS (like how Windows 8 and vista were poorly received), since it would mean when I finally upgrade from my 2004-era XP machine I won't have the doubt people have with 8... Flachbau
Well, either way, as a regular user I can understand that. They want to avoid more problems.

LittleBlueTroll
I actually really like the look of that start menu. Although I still find the whole tiles/app idea to be a pointless gimmick. Why would I sign into the Twitter app for example, when I could just use the desktop site? Same goes for any of the other apps or tiles.
Undyne
I like the new start menu too, although I'm still not a big fan of the metro UI.
Flachbau
You can uninstall a bunch of apps from the start menu that you don't want.
YA BOY DIRT
I was a beta tester for Windows 10 a year ago when I freelanced for Technicolor Studios. I feel like I can finally say this, now that the cat's out of the bag.

sivispacem
We've noticed that programers are still coding for 20+ year old software still...are you serious?I think it's more for compatibility checks. It sounds a little tongue-in-cheek but is entirely possible, though why they wouldn't be using the internal Microsoft OS codes (6.x for Vista/post-Vista) I don't know. hornedturtle 1 AMD Ryzen 5900X (4.65GHz All-Core PBO2) | Gigabye X570S Pro | 32GB G-Skill Trident Z RGB 3600MHz CL16 EK-Quantum Reflection D5 | XSPC D5 PWM | TechN/Heatkiller Blocks | HardwareLabs GTS & GTX 360 Radiators Corsair AX750 | Lian Li PC-O11 Dynamic XL | EVGA GeForce RTX2080 XC @2055MHz | Sabrant Rocket Plus 1TB Sabrant Rocket 2TB | Samsung 970 Evo 1TB | 2x ASUS ROG Swift PG279Q | Q Acoustics 2010i | Sabaj A4
