R* punishes tactics and strategy with new payouts

How will I deal with other players' idling? I will continue to do my missions solo as always, except when I want a laugh and then I play with randoms.

Yep, the days of efficiency and skill are gone. Stupid idea. I hope they fix it next patch. I'm not playing missions until they do.

I do agree that some of the sh*t is backwards, especially the 'how long it took' multiplier, but enjoy the extra cash. This is the only time I've seen R* jump in and actually INCREASE the payout on lots of jobs. Usually they just nerf the crap out of one thing.

But there is more important things to complain about than bonuses for slow players - and on the one occasion they do give us better payouts, we probably shouldn't be dicks about it.

Time is suppose to equal money, but yes, I do see the problem with people abusing it. I haven't played enough Contact Missions today to see anyone waiting with the packages just to increase the payout, but if that's the case, and word gets out...

Payout should be a fixed amount related to the average time of completion, not a variable time clock that is independent of each time you play the mission.

But you played them before when there was no bonus at all? It should be changed, but not playing seems rather drama-queen.

It would be annoying if people paused until the timer hit 4 minutes or similar, but until you actually have a problem with that occuring I wouldn't worry about it. It's just a bonus to compensate for time, not a penalty for going too fast.

Now is a good time for missions - bonus for playing with others and higher payouts on many jobs.

Your payment increases the more players you have with you.

4 players increases payout 30% and increases chances of mission failure 90%. Not a good tradeoff in my opinion. :p

Yes, I hear that many of the Simeon and Gerald missions now pay much better, but I bet just about every Martin, Lester, and Trevor mission I will end up getting paid less because I know most of them inside and out and have a specific way I do them to get them done as quickly and efficiently as possible

This.

Benchmark Mission times and use some sort of Multiplier to determine the payout for completing either slower or faster than "expected"...That said, given Mission payouts are now more balanced, I would not complain to much and have R* stuff everything about again.

Yeah but more players also means you can usually finish the mission quicker so you might even get less money than you would solo depending on how fast you complete it with more players vs solo

I completely agree, been testing this and just got 5k for going afk for 20mins on Peer Pressure "level 6" and running in and DYING! $5k for failing a mission that yesterday payed like $1,500 on hard for completing.. makes no sense.

No mission has a payout now. There's just a timer. The longer you stay in a mission (any mission) the more money you get. I'll just race, at least that's competitive.

R* has now become the very things they mock.

Rockstar pretty much forces people to use money glitches with their ridiculous shark card prices and the constant mission nerfs.

SALO or The 120 Days Of Sodom

I must be the only one who has no problem with this. On quite a few occasions, i've played some missions that turned out to be longer than it should have.. only to end up with less than 2k. Someone mentioned "time is money". Yes!. also, anyone ever heard of overtime?

I also hate playing the same missions over and over.. I like to play other character missions, that are NOT RR.

Anyone else think this is complete horse sh*t? Mission payouts based on time? By playing all these contact missions, over time I developed tactics and strategies to get the mission done quickly and efficiently. Now the way the mission payouts are set up, I might as well just start a mission then go make a sandwich, fart around watching tv, then come back and finish the mission cause I want to get some decent pay. How can they punish us for having a good strategy? It's completely backwards. If anything you should get more money for doing the mission faster, not for taking 20 mins to do a mission that should take 5 mins tops like some noob.

Not to mention that now when doing contact missions with randoms, whoever has the vehicle/package is going to idle right outside the ending corona to try to maximize the payout, while everyone else sits around waiting. What a dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb idea R*.

Does anyone else feel the same way? How are you going to do these missions now, ditch strategy and milk the clock? Say forget the $/RP and keep going with your current strategy?

How are you going to deal with players idling outside the final objective to maximize payout? Do missions only solo now? Try even harder to get package/vehicle? (Like that's not already a problem when doing multiplayer missions)

R* did it to throw sand in the gears of grinders. R* better get on top of the glitches is all I'll say. LOL.

I've heard of OT, done quite bit of it, and it's a Rip-off!

Eh I kinda like this change. I get sick of games when it becomes a matter of speed running, where you just mindlessly follow the same path of your brain over and over.

This way is more chillax, you can find new ways of doing the mission, goof around and such, and actually get paid more for it.

So its a shot at all those grinders out there. Boo hoo no one cares about those soulless drones anyway.

It kind of makes the buzzard mission redundant now. Great for low level players but make it seem for the rest of us that we have wasted our time doing it hard early on for no reason.

May as well throw away all your good weapons too. Because to be honest you are better off doing all missions now with a pistol and your fists.

I dont know op. I do almost every "delivery" mission with a cargobob. No shots fired, still getting max pay out.

Good point, OP. I completely agree with this.

I don't see the problem with vehicle objective on this since we can pull the idling player out and finish the mission. But I'm concern with package objective missions where in order to drop the package, the holder must be killed. Now what if the holder stands on a ledge or roof? I guess someone will have to call MW heli to slice him.

You know how people used to joke that they would start Rooftop Rumble from the top of Mt Chilead? Now it's the best strategy. :p

God. I think Rockstar would hotfix this and then the timer won't start until your reach action site and will end after there are no more enemies around. I'm f*cking pretty sure.

It's more fun, actually. Now they fixed this, the missions are not rush rush rush to the enemies in buzzard, spam rockets, get package, haul ass to dropoff and then hear complaints from friends that it wasn't fun at all. Now you can pick up your friends, drive there, maybe fool around or get some ammo, get into position etc.. It's much more enjoyable now.

I didn't join a mission to dick around like some slacker.

If we're basing it on time, there should be momentous reward for finishing REAL fast, and the reward starts to decline as your mission time goes past a certain point in time (ie 4 minutes in).

That way, you're rewarded for finishing fast, or for trying your best and just being not that fast. While doing so, it punishes mission stallers.

Let's be honest, your "tactics", are to grind one or two missions fast. Where's the fun in that?
