Hmmm nice bike

I think he means favorite GTA. In which case, my personal favorites are Vice City and IV. If not, I dunno what he meant.

Vice City.

I don't need to explain why.

Grand Theft Auto III, never could understand why I like it so much myself, it's just... the atmosphere. Really strong within this one.

Why didn't you make this a poll if you want to know everyone's favorite game?

Anyways, my favorite is GTA IV, with San Andreas being a close second.

I grew up with Vice City. So it's gonna be Vice City.

Why didn't you make this a poll if you want to know everyone's favorite game?

Then you get a bunch of votes with no reasons given. ie: IV is winning, but almost everyone who actually bothered to make a post are singing the praises of Vice City. :/

It used to be San Andreas, because that was my first and I had a lot more fun with it than I did with anything that came after. Chinatown Wars is definitely up there, since it actually succeeded in taking a GTA game into a new medium, and making fit and fun. III's been looking better and better the more I play through it.

I think I gotta go with Chinatown Wars, at least until I play through III some more. :)

Liberty City Stories is my favorite out all all the games in the series.

1a LCS

1b IV

That's how I look at it IMO.

All 3D Era games!

GTA VC, SA, GTA 2, III have been the most exciting games that gave me a sense of hugely fantastic experience!!!

Some of the excessively long hours went behind playing these wonderful games, particularly during the early years of my life.

But, even without getting too nostalgic, 3D titles still hold my interest and I continue playing them, to this day.

They are a complete package with a full fledged campaign consisting the best freeform open ended gameplay, that allowed you to engage with the available options to try something different, without forcing you through linear levels and scripted sequences.

The interesting characters and the unique setting turned out to be more fitting to the simple story, that was written good enough to make the ride an enjoyable experience.

The diverse side missions raised the bar of the overall fun quotient, and added an extra amount of the side fun available outside the main plot!

That's why I feel like a newbie with HD games, dropped straight to see how much they try hard to be different and superior to the original games, but by taking away a lot of aspects that made the old games great.

GTA IV. Nothing beats it in terms of story, characters, and atmosphere.

GTA IV/EFLC.

When I joined GTAF I always considered myself a VC fanboy and I still have a lot of admiration for VC and GTA III for that matter. IMO those two are the pinnacle of the 3D era.

For my liking GTA IV/EFLC is the complete package. It took me a while to warm up to TBOGT, but now I see it as a really great game in its own right.

Three different perspectives on the same city offers such a unique experience that I don't get from the other games. Even without EFLC I still feel the same way about GTA IV on its own. While the majority hated the serious and grittier direction I took to it like a duck to water.

I don't think I have ever "disliked" a GTA game, but my three favourites are GTA Vice City, GTA IV and GTA V. I thought in terms of story and characters you just can't top them.

Can we just pin one of the other 6,000 threads of this?

GTA San Andreas was ahead of its time and heres the reasons why i feel its the best:

-Theme(early 90s)

-100 missions with a great story

-3 big cities with dessert, countryside, and forrest

-Greatest side characters in history

-Own more than two properties

-Own business with assets

-Enterable Resturants

-Gyms with fighting styles

-More planes & helis(HYDRA)

-Lowriders and hydraulics

-Multiple Casinos

-First one with Character stats

-Flight, boat, driving, & motorcycle school

-IMO had the best stations of all GTAS

-You could drive any vehicle in the game(car, truck, boat, plane, motorcycle, train, and etc)

-More variety of clothes shops

-Tattoos(way more than V)

-Police, paramedic, taxi & firefighter missions

Pretty much most if not all features in V were already in San Andreas.
