Don't Get Too Excited About Heists...

Here's why the heists (when they eventually come out) won't be as good as we are all expecting:

1)The payout won't be anything amazing. It's not like R* are going to give out millions for passing one Heist. I reckon we'll only get around $100,000. I mean the whale shark card which gives you $3,500,000 costs £30 in real money. So I don't expect R* to payout that much,

2)There won't be as much planning like there was in Single Player. It wouldn't work if you get your crew together and decide on how you'll execute the heist. You can't do the pre-missions were you collect items like dumpster trucks or boiler suits and expect everyone in the crew to be ready for the heist itself at the same time. If you do end up having to do pre-missions you will need to actually have a heist crew or know that your team members won't just disappear on you.

3)The heists won't be that big. I reckon the heists won't take any longer than 20-30 minutes to complete. That reason is because we won't be able to rob anything massive like casinos or the big banks such as the Union Depository. Imagine robbing the Union Depository and only getting around $100,000 for it? I'd be pretty annoyed considering you get about $20,000,000 in the single player. I reckon the biggest thing that we will be able to rob is the small Fleeca Banks dotted around the map or maybe the Blaine County Savings Bank.

So those are just some things that I think will be likely to happen when the heists finally arrive. What do you think?

Trust me, I don't think anybody is excited about heists anymore. This is old news.

I believe heists are simply a myth.

I'm not so sure about the prep. To be fare it might play like a playlist of jobs that are required before the main event. My monies on personal vehicles being unavailable for the heist, in single player there was always a get away vehicle that was stolen before hand, dropped off at Lester's garage and then beefed up. I reckon the payouts won't be humongous either, but deductions for number of player deaths (in single player we could easily save the game if we failed and replay from a certain part. That's not possible online obviously, a complete failure to complete would put everyone off particularly if you got to the last part and died - half an hour down the drain and no one would bother again).

I do think heists won't be as casual as normal missions, not just a case of joining in but committing to a playlist of sorts which would adversely effect your reputation if you failed to follow through. We've been introduced to this in little steps anyway, quoting a heist would be far worse than a mission. Of course this is where JP comes in, if you had to earn 100 JP for example before you can start a basic heist then you've shown your reliable, quit a job and of course its zeroed.

If we ever get heists ;-)

Honestly never gave a sh*t about Heists once all these good money glitches came out. Knowing Rockstar they never fail to disappoint me, I predict its just going to be 'Break the vault, steal the cash, Loose the cops!' and Bam Heist over.

Farming Flight School > Heists and R* probably knows it.

Repetitive missions, completely re-playable, little to no time with little chance of failure once you get good.

none of your points are valid, but i wont be expecting the heists to stand up to the hype after all this time

More players in a heist, more payout. Each getting $30,000.

4 players = $120,000

3 players = $90,000

2 players = $60,000

1 players = $30,000

What do you mean? all of his point are valid, i can guarantee you that heists are NOT going to be as good as single player, nowhere nears good. He makes very valid points and I'm 100% sure that just about everything he said will be how it turns out to be.

Knowing R*, when heists do come out (after World War 3, Nuclear Holocaust and the end of mankind) they'll all be like:

" OMG $200,000 for each HEIST! GO PLAY NOW $200K PER HEIST YOU'LL BE RICH IN 6 SECONDS"

Then we'll all go complete a heist and see something like this:

$200,000 split between 4 players - $50,000 each

Lester's cut: $160,000 - $10,000 each

Stolen money is now taxable by R*: $20,000 - $5,000 each

It took you 5 seconds to do the heist (rewards for taking your time): $16,000 deducted - $1,000 each

The equipment you used (helicopter, clothing, firepower) cost a lot: $48,000 - by the end of the heist you now owe $47,000

LOL

And you have to buy a shark card in order to open a heist for play. Every shark card purchase will open another heist. Five total. Not bad, $100 will open all heists. LOL

There's absolutely no doubt at all in my mind that we won't see us hitting the small Flecca banks scattered throughout the city, if not online, hopefully SP.

These small little spots are some of the most detailed interiors in the game. I'm pretty sure that every single one of those Flecca banks feature the same interior as the next, however, if you do actually take a look at them, (you can only walk inside them in Singleplayer), you'll see that there are damageble cameras and other nits and bits. Telephones that can be shot, interior vegetation that can be destroyed, and there are people waiting in line, as well as somebody standing behind the kiosks. I walked into there, pulled my gun, and I automatically gained a two-star wanted level. What gives? You'll always come at 'eyes with a vault door and a terminal right beside it. That obviously hints that somebody has to hack it. 'Such a tease, ain't it?

The fact that you can't access them in 'Online' to me, gives me the impression that Rockstar wants us to forget about the heists, in a sense.

'Don't even get me started on the Pacific Standard Public Deposit Bank on Vinewood Boulevard.

I'd like to mention also, that we might actually be seeing heists soon (don't restore your faith just yet). Now, when I mean 'soon' - I'm purely speculating, (Hell they might just delay it again, they're doing that as if DLC delays are going out of style), - But something caught my eye.

'Normally, I couldn't give a sh*t about rumors and videos about leaked information. Honestly, I only care if it's official word, but this was something I found interesting.

Now, the reason why I thought this video was interesting, is because a 'Thermite Bomb' I would imagine realistically, is not just your ordinary hand grenade or sticky bomb. Rockstar isn't dumb. 'Thermite' is an extremely heated combination of chemical reactions and super-heated metals, something that could very well, (if there's enough, and it's powerful enough to be used as an explosive), can pierce through/disintergrate hardened doors. It also looks like it's a bomb that has to be planted, not thrown too.

There's also the Flare Gun. Something that can be used to signal somebody, or something? I can't imagine that it's only use is going to be lighting people on fire or shooting it into the air to light an area for a few moments. That would seem pointless. It's probably going to be a one-shot and reload too, which further points to it possibly having other uses..

Now, I'm fishing in the dark a little on this one here, so I wouldn't absolutely agree with my word, but they still haven't released those two new weapons, (one of them being an MG, I think) - These might be the 'advanced weaponry' they're planning to release with the heists DLC when it ever comes, to assist in tackling them, or just release them because.. weapons. I know that those two weapons are old news, but they gotta' come out sometime, right?

That's a given. Those counter all of OP's 'speculation'

Now most of those are not valid points
