Explanation of the current issue with custom plates:

Hello there, I just figured I would make a thread detailing the issue that everyone is facing with the plate text on their vehicles.

 

It seems as though that EVERY vehicle in everyone's second garage (second property on the mechanic's menu) is having it's plate text randomized when joining a new session, signing in to online, etc.

 

It doesn't matter if you had random plates to begin with, legit personal plates, cars from SP with special text, or plates made with IFruit+Charles, all vehicles in garage 2 are having the text reset. This isn't Rockstar attempting to combat people with custom plates, as IFruit+Charles is apparently still working, it's just a bug on their end that will hopefully be sorted out.

Nice of you to post on the support page but you should have left out the part about "other means". Since it's an issue with legit plates too that is all I would of mentioned. It's never smart to direct attention to something you have done that is prohibited. The chances are slim but the person who reads it at R* could read it and then look into your account.

By other means I literally meant by any other means not mentioned. There have been issues in the past where people have gotten blank plates or something else. Besides, that thread will die soon as it's not getting any answers.

I'm not sure about that. I suppose that could possibly keep your cars safe. I guess that would depend on whether it's a problem with the cloud itself or a problem when you load up the game.
