Anyone think flight school is waaay too hard at first?

I agree I really liked the effect of the lightning at night. I can't wait to watch my son do it, I'm going to make sure it's real dark in the room.

 

I consider myself a pretty good pilot and I found it challenging, I still need to get gold on the flags and the targets. my favorite was the last one. there's one spot you have to follow the instructor that was real tight.

Was having fun with it until whatever that ground flying mission was. The new jet sucks for any type of precision flying imo. The controls have no finesse, they're like on-off switches. Quit after my second attempt. Day ruined. lmao

Put your landing gear down and run it without touching the triggers, makes life so much more easier.. also remember there is no time limit so you can attempt each checkpoint from any angle if you'd like. I agree though, I mean to even make the Jet usable at slow speeds you have to put the landing gear down? What the hell kind of physics are these?

Think only four of the ten missions i didnt get gold on the first try, the early missions. Though i should have got silver on the flag level but i was determined gold or nothing. Tried a couple more times,came off.

Came on later, did the flag level, man i swear i stopped breathing it was that intense. Tye first try when i went back on i got gold.

 

Also, i think if ou get all golds you should get special reward. Like a special color for pegasus air vehicles or somthing

Got all golds no issues. Ground level took twice to gold.

 

Formation took 2 times.

 

Flags took maybe 5 times to gold.

 

Everything else was a first time gold. Have to admit, it was pretty fun.

That's what happened last night when was I playing that mission. Sort of reminded me when playing as Trevor, when he decided to go to Los Santos the first time, on how the setting was night, raining and added lightning.

 

Still don't know why there is no rainy storm at night in Online lobby. You can set Rain and Night in some host missions, though without lightning effect.

Got gold in the first three at the first attempt and thought "huh, I'm better than I thought".

 

It all went drastically down hill from there. 7 attempts at the Buzzard shooting one and I only just scraped 10 targets (minimum bronze) on the 7th. I'm now on attempt 11 at ground level.

Everyone seems so good at flight school, why is it when I played 'titan of a job' with 5 different groups they all smashed the titan into the floor at sandy shores?

Yeah, I have to go with the others here. They were pretty stupid easy. I hear people complaining of missions, that I didn't even second thought. Like the Buzzard targets mission. How can you not get 25 targets in that time? I ended on 51, despite screwing up, and having to realign myself twice... Completed the whole school in like 20 minutes. Gold'd most of the challenged first try... The only ones that took more than one try was landing the damaged jet, (only because I didn't align myself perfectly with the end checkpoint, because I didn't know that's what you had to do at first. I just thought you had to go through it, not stop on it.) the parachute one, (because of it's stupid, "you have to stagger INTO the center, not land there" thing.) and the end go through the 30 checkpoints before time runs out mission, because I crashed the first time trying to grab a checkpoint at the last second of seeing it. The missions were way too easy to be honest. I really wish they had some actual challenge to them.

For the life of me, I can't even finish Ground Level, so I thought I'd help here... Maybe give something in return because I'm really good with the Buzzard.

 

Try to practice six types of movement: Ascending, Descending, Swinging Left or Right, and Turning Left or Right. You should not have to move forward or back at any time during the exercise. So moving up, down, left, right and using the turns should get the job done. You want to keep the Buzzard from swinging around, so try to keep the blades parallel to the ground at all times, this way you only have to worry about turning the chopper left or right; then adjust the height when needed. Also, use the machine guns, the rockets are too sloppy to use here.

Completing all missions was cake. Only difficulty I have for Gold was landing the heli without getting blown up, and that formation one.

 

The Gold mission I had a blast with was landing the Titan on the rainy stormy night. Speaking of, why isn't there a rain storm at night in Online mode, whereas the Story Mode do? Considering how the effect in the nighttime is so much better than daytime.

Oh yeah, I loved that missions too. Maybe current gen will gives us nighttime storms like that?

I got gold on most at the first try. Some Silver but got gold in the second run to get to gold. Only problem I have is Collecting Flags. I captured the last flag the very second it turned to silver rating and never tried again.

I have a few golds now (first 3) but I'm frustrated to the point of giving up now. If they gave a good reward for all golds I might consider another attempt.

Even with my flying skill all the way up it still took me multiple tries on each mission to complete them with gold. Most notably ground level, flag checkpoint and the one where you have to fly in a group. The rest were pretty easy, my main problem was the Bestra, it feels way too touchy for me. The last mission woulda been hard for me if it was int he bestra, I jumped for joy that I was in a Lazer. So much easier to fly.

I already have a little over 100k from the golds and silvers I have, I'm so bad that I honestly would make 10 times as much money doing literally any mission than I stand to gain finishing off the golds in flight school

Just fire for the hole time, don't stop shooting. Got 45 targets and could have probably got more if I was paying more attention to where the targets where popping up.

Use the machine guns, hover in place and just slightly tilt yourself towards the targets so you hold position.

 

And don't waste time changing your position to get the crane one, just leave it.

The only thing I found hard was figuring out exactly what to do. For example, the early test where you have to land a stalled Miljet at Zancudo, it took a couple of tries before I realized where you were actually supposed to stop the plane. Then the onewhere you have to chase down a parachute, put it on, and then land. Still not sure what the distance is measuring; distance you travel before collecting parachute, how close to the ground you are when you pull the chute, or how close to the bulls eye you have to get when landing.

the parachute one is closest to the bullseye, not where you land, but where you stop.
