Anyone think flight school is waaay too hard at first?

I can't speak for everyone else, but I've racked up a lot of flight time in GTA V. So I'm a pretty good pilot.

 

Although the Besra is a new challenge. It's faster and more sensitive than the other planes.

 

Can u tell me(or us) how to be a good pilot? How do you get to Carnegie Hall? Sorry, I'm being a dick. But seriously, practice. I need more of it myself.

i had to do the jet one several times before i got it (i ended up with sliver)

 

got bronze on the engine failure even though i landed the plane perfectly i was just maybe 50 feet always from the marker

 

now im stuck formation...cant control the jet good enough to be in formation

my resentment for flight school is still strong.....oh the horrors from SA flight school....i remember one time i finally got through the flight school course and as i was taking the plane down to land i felt accomplished like "finally"

 

so i landed and it told me to "park plane in hanger" so i try to do it and ended up clipping the wing on the hanger and it exploded....misson falied and had to do it ALL over again

On the engine failure ones, it looks like part of the plane has to be touching the yellow marker when it stops. So plus or minus approximately 10 meters and you should be good.

ground level one was so frustrating, oh god... got the gold though. and buzzard one, i'm so bad at shooting with this thing... that's the only challenge i have the bronze on. the rest are gold.

If you manage to get perfect formation in the first few orders BEFORE reaching the city, you should be able to barely do the half loop and still have enough points for Gold.

I reached that part with like 570 points, did half of the half loop before losing the marker and scratched 604 and ignored the rest in case I'd crash.

 

Also guys, you don't get anything for getting Gold on all classes, the shirt is literally what you get for finishing the school no matter the performance.

I think the flight school challanges are more annoying than hard. Take the first one for example where you had to fly after your parachute...ugh! I swear I almost broke my TV.

And ground flight is easy as f*ck. Remember, there's no time limit. Don't touch the accelerator, until you fly over the dam. Makes it 10x easier

i kept failing at the parachute mission, if you didn't land right on target it's an instant fail, plus landing a chopper on a moving target is kinda pointless.

and flying in formation is hard to do when your plane keeps drifting.

for the parachute, you have to STOP in the center. means you have to land in 2nd or 3rd circle.

For the parachute one I literally landed outside of the circle and my character ran right into the middle, that's how you get Gold.. or land on the outer circle and hope he stumbles into the middle.

 

Capture the flag, my strategy was to go straight for the first one you see straight ahead, and after that I went right into the heart of the city and went down to the little park (have to be quick to get there or else you'll fly right into a building or one of the objects on the park) after that it's smooth sailing, take a sharp right after passing through and go through the cranes near the construction site, the rest should be easy to pick up... and to get the ones that are back in the beginning, don't go after them UNTIL you are actually turning to that area.

 

I think I beat it in 2.32 minutes (was missing the last flag at 2:15 but had to fly straight to the final one miles away)

I got gold on the first five flight school missions. Now I'm stuck with the Buzzard shooting targets at a construction site.

 

Its gonna be better when a thread is made for tips and tricks getting gold on these lessons and also when youtubers starts showing the ropes how to get gold.

 

Question, how did you get Gold on the Chase Parachute? Every time I aim for the bullseye, my character rolls or falls forward into Silver or Bronze. But then, when I try to land in front of the bullseye, my character suddenly refuses to roll or fall toward Gold.

 

It's damned if you do, damned if you don't. What was your strategy?

 

Dont put your feet down into the most inner circle cause it counts where you stop, not where you land.

Is it hard to complete? No, not at all. To get gold is harder and challenging, but that's what makes it fun imo.

 

Target practice for instance, first try I never thought I would ever get gold, but after 3-4 tries got to 48. Same goes for ground maneuver, practice is the key. Wich off course is the whole idea off school!

to me the jets are too twitchy with the controles to fly i got gold on the last mission an few others i only did 1 try for all of them i never really fly in this game as it is so i didnt really care.

I will say tho that formation flying 1 i laughed when its like do a loop i went up an accidentally turned in mid air crashing into 1 an then it crashed into another im pretty sure we all died i got a laugh outta it, but no im mostly bronze or silver i dont know if i will bother getting them all gold because i don't really see the reward or point.

That's the thing, if there were a unique reward for getting all gold I'd maybe try harder at that flag mission; my best time is 1 second off gold, ugh. The rest I've got gold but without incentive, I just can't be bothered trying anymore. Still, it was something new to do and I'm now quite pleased with how the Bersa handles, so much so, I might even take it public to annoy some Lazer pilots with...

I love the fact that he was telling me I might be a good pilot after all, after I'd just got the last flag and then crashed into the ground.

 

Most of them were easy, or I found them easy. I got gold on most of them first time, but a couple were tricky. I now know that the parachute landing is counted as where you stop, not where you land. I never knew that before.

 

It was good fun though. 7/10 would play again.

Two f*cking fourty minutes to collect all those checkpoints - 5 seconds gap and it would be gold right away.

 

 

BTW it's the worst update ever - flight school is quite cool but I'm too f*cking nervous to do this stuff - flight school in single mode was a lot better in terms of quality of the lessons.

 

TIP OF THE DAY - do the bronze first, then silver and then gold - you will get at least 300 000 payout - that is nearly a half of the coquette's price

LB & RB (bumpers) are L1 and R1.

 

LT & RT (triggers) are L2 and R2.

 

Please don't ask why the f*ck they're called bumpers. It's a f*cking stupid name. Just remember LT & RT are the triggers and you'll not forget the rest.

Completing all missions was cake. Only difficulty I have for Gold was landing the heli without getting blown up, and that formation one.

 

The Gold mission I had a blast with was landing the Titan on the rainy stormy night. Speaking of, why isn't there a rain storm at night in Online mode, whereas the Story Mode do? Considering how the effect in the nighttime is so much better than daytime.
