Anyone think flight school is waaay too hard at first?

It was challenging but not too difficult for me. But then again, I'm a quarian. If I wasn't good at flying, my parents would've eaten me.

 

I will say that stay low challenge was broken. I can feel my ass touching the ground and then they will throw me to silver bad.

i cant even complete ground cover, i have probably tried 50x....some of these are WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY to hard, im getting so f*cking pissed off

I can't speak for everyone else, but I've racked up a lot of flight time in GTA V. So I'm a pretty good pilot.

 

Although the Besra is a new challenge. It's faster and more sensitive than the other planes.

 

Can u tell me(or us) how to be a good pilot?

Finally completed all gold medals, imo the ground level lesson was the hardest to get(Nearly broke my controller in rage)

Ground Level can suck a fat one. Even the cocky flyers posting here have to admit - it's quite a difficulty spike compared to the previous missions.

Taking a break for now, but I'll try it again later.

 

EDIT: Well I decided to give it one more go, and after 6 DNFs in a row, I went straight to a Gold thanks to ReignMillions tip about having the landing gear out. Thanks bud! I didn't think it would make that much difference, but it's a million times easier.

 

This 1000x times. It seems to keep your speed at like half of what it normally is. First time I popped landing gear after two fails I got it with .46m.

Golded on the first try, just use 3rd person view. Makes you see a lot more of your surroundings.

It's bear easy, dunno what your problem is but I'm 7th in the World with 0.00m, tbh found it easier to get high in the leaderboard than stupid Collect the Flags

Can u tell me(or us) how to be a good pilot? spend 1 month committed to being in the jet. You will get good and finally enjoy it. Buy the garage by the airforce base. Swap lobbies with spawn set on that garage. Or play with a friend and invite eachother to arms race to maximize flight time. Bottom line... it simply takes seat time. And many crashes. Lots of frustration. But is very rewarding when you get there.

 

Actual tips:

-Landing gear down to slow the jet down for attacks

-use cannons except in dogfights. In which case, I use a combination of rockets and cannons. The rockets put the preasure on forcing your opponent to make mistakes allowing you to take them with your cannons.

Use steep angled attacks against people with snipers, miniguns, and tanks.

-cock pit or out of cock pit view is a matter of preference (cock pit has no landing gear indicator. Which to me is annoying)

-try to relax and fly slow. Practice around the buildings.

-be prepared for hate messages.

It was fun and challenging ! Some of them are insane, collecting the flags on gold was crazy but It is possible. Too bad the reward even with only gold medals is a freaking T-Shirt ! I mean you make some good cash out of it but another flight outfit would't hurt.

Like with the Flight Formation I golded it first time I tried it.

It wasn't too hard for me as I like to fly low and have a lot of practice with flying low.

Got a 0.56M on it.

I think most of them were fairly easy to complete, except the last one. I got a bunch of silvers though. And I cheated on the one where you have to fly low, I just put the wheels down so I went slower.

I keep getting silver on the mission where you have to get your parachute mid-air. How are you supposed to land in order to get gold?

Collecting flag likely isn't that bad as long you you figure out the pattern to do it. Anyone have any tips for that?

 

Formation fly... Yeah everything is fine until they start the full flip and half flip, then they suddenly start pulling away with some random speed boost for no reason..

More annoying than hard, the first mission i did 2 successful loops under the bridge but the meter never came on even though I went through the corona, I landed on the truck bed but apparently didn't have enough in the circle, I hit bullseye on the parachute one and got a bronze!?

 

It comes down to how much you've flown if you rarely fly its going to be harder and judging from the lack of people in air races and the amount of crashes in air races i think most people are going to be in for a long day.
