Did you like The San Andreas Flight School Update?

I like it a lot. Cool new jet and heli. The mil-jet looks good, but not really useful, though. The coquette is definitely teh best part.

It's good, but could have been better. I personally like everything this DLC offers, but with how limited the content is compared to the previous 2 updates, I'm wondering why they even bothered to release this. I mean, yeah the Flight School is a fun challenge, but there's little reward to playing it unless you want that Elitas shirt.

 

Conversely, I enjoy the new aircraft in this DLC and the animations for the swift are awesome.

It was free, and new content and improvements are always awesome.

But it's coming up to a year soon, and the game itself still needs work so I'm a wee bit annoyed that it isn't polished, and we are still missing a component I expected in Jan.

 

Still this update was fine, there was no hype from them, just a 'here is some free stuff' drop, no doubt we'll have others this year too.

'nerfed' isnt the word. Sorted it is more like it, you could bash that out in like 3-5 mins using very few bullets/grenades. What they did was fix the missions on the basis of time...the longer or more complex it is the more cash you get. It was neer to make you rich, just to make you play some other missions.

You make a good point about them nerfing RR I used to grind it regularly until May time but the rewards still pale in comparison to what they were originally marked up at. R* spoke about making an economy in this game if they allowed us to have businesses in Online like SP to run with a decent payout and gang wars it would add a little more variety. Thing is with the Flight School Update yes it may not have alot in it but mission wise it has diversified things a bit compared to the usual couple of new races, DM's etc. Bottom line is now we have quite alot of the things the SP characters have access to like Flight School, Fairground Rides, Shooting Range etc. so it would make sense for them to give us businesses next, heists or more houses and maybe gang wars in the style of TLAD or Drug Wars like in TBOGT.

It's pretty darn good. Not as all-encompassing as the myriad stuff in the 'Hipster' update, but the vehicles are cool, the pilot missions are fun and different, and the flight suit is neat.

Plus, it bodes well for future DLC - instead of just more clothing items and a handful of cars, we could easily see more game modes and activities (complete with more voice-over stuff - maybe some new cutscenes and NPCs for Online?), plus actual military/professional outfits and clothing items, rather than the 'fashion' ones we've had up to now. T-shirts and jeans are cool an' all, but SWAT gear? Motorcycling leathers? Police/army uniforms? There's a precedent now, with the flight suit - R* have finally given us a decent 'costume' for characters, and here's hoping it's the first of many to come...

Only positive was the range of classes they gave you in Flight School, they were actually entertaining especially the Titan one in the storm.. very very great moment when I saw the lightning strikes (for the first time in the air)

 

Aside from that it's definitely crap in every corner, really hoped to see those military outfits being available and all..

I'm probably the only one saying that I actually enjoyed the new update. The Besra seems good enough to me IMO.

I mean, the only problem I really have is that RR is still a f*cking mess, but I've kind of come to the conclusion that it is always going to be a mess cause Rockstar couldn't just nerf the reward from the start. I mean if we glitched we wouldn't even be worrying about mission payouts, but in my opinion that takes some of the fun out. The game is already easy. I didn't die much today in Freeroam. Especially with God mode being gone, gone, gone.

I did that today... It works well. I did it on quite a few occasions. Even got this dude in his cargobob outta the air.

Ah, yes - Patch 1.16, the 'Everything That Could Possibly Exist, Ever Update'...

 

Point is, the precedent is now set for, say, a 'Cops & Crooks Update' including Police/NOOSE uniforms, or stuff like that, rather than just more print tees and some masks.

I love it,

 

Great new vehicles, I especially like the new heli.

 

The flight school is a lot of fun imo, and some of the adjustments they made to the game were fantastic & something we were longing for, especially the true pilots.

 

God mode being fixed was great, buzzard disable autolock rpg was fantastic & the Blind eye/remove wanted level/off radar change was the best of all.

 

The only things I wish were different are:

 

- The Besra to be a 2 seater & possibly the ability to invite a friend to flight school so that you can switch pilot/passenger to maybe show a friend how to beat a certain part, would have been cool imo.

 

- The flight suit to be locked to a certain requirement such as finish maybe top 10 on the leaderboard in any of the new FS content, just so it was rarer & that non-pilots were not walking around in flight suits... But not a big deal lol.

 

 

On a side note, I think people are overlooking the changes that were made & how great some of them were, & instead are complaining because there is not many "shiny new things" that they can wear or drive around.

 

Most of those whinging arseholes are the people who were doing god mode too... lol

The Flight School Update itself? Rockstar could have done better, honestly. They shouldn't have scrapped the Hydra from this update (yes, the Hydra was originally planned to be in this update, as seen in the coding), and since they did scrap it, they could have at least given the runner-up Besra some sort of weapons or countermeasures, even if it's a training jet. Mounted miniguns on the wings, flares, bombs you can drop, just something... At the moment, the Besra is basically a fly, and the Lazer is the fly swatter. -.-

The Swift is nice, but priced way too high (and could've been made a 6 seater). Miljet also has too high of a pricetag... the Flight Suit is pretty cool though, it's something unique looking for once, other than the typical suits and hipster clothing. The only real downside I see with it is that it's the only clothing item (other than the Elitas t-shirt and pilot cap) to come with this update. The Flight School missions were also pretty cool, and netted me an easy $180k.

But my main fuss is the lack of content (including bug fixes), considering it was almost 50 days since we last had an update before this one, and we've gotten a lot more content with other updates in a shorter amount of time. Suppose it has to do with them working on the next-gen ("current gen", if you're so inclined) versions.
