@Outkast & Yello: I see your points and appreciate your inputs. I'm just trying to be as open as a book as I can be and hoping to take on challenges no else take on. I've had some sketchy meets before (see first post, previous car meets, titled "most complicated meet ever"). I feel the same as you guys: when joining a meet I want to take a backseat and just enjoy what's been prepared. But I'm not dropping this idea - I'll work on it to make it possible in some way. Your point of view does help, though. So thank you! :)

So I've work at this pub for the past...4-5 months (?) as a DJ every 2 weeks. I've been hoping to get more time to afford a DJ laptop and maybe even an Xbox One. My boss contacted me about cancelling my gig this Friday (today) and moving me to a bigger salary by playing Saturday with a theme event (80's tunes! Something I do NOT play at the pub which is usually rock/punk/hip hop depending on the time of the night). I'm really excited for it - the catch is it's at 8:30PM. Seeing the Minigame Night is set for 6PM EDT, I do not want to run late. We'll start once most people are in the lobby. I know it gives me a good 2 hours (30 mins to eat) but it's not rare that these events run for a few hours. Plus, there is 4-5 games to be played (depending on how many show up). Just giving you all a heads up as I've never had commitments around the time of a meet. It's a new experience.

I'm still good for tonight although i won't be on much earlier than the advertised start time.

I'm saving my S.H.I.E.L.D inspired car and outfit until next weeks main event. :)

Hey guys. Going back to the suggestion during meets. I find that cactus and outkast make some valid points.

Suggestions during a meet should always be welcomed, but not always done. Often there are planned routes and things coming up that only the host is aware of. It may lead to disruption And things may go "off piste" as cactus put it. When a suggestion is made I tend to suggest we do it at the end of the meet once my planed route is finished. A lot of my mini games and meet themes have come from lobby suggestions.

Vechile restriction at meets is a difficult one. I agree with restriction to fit in with a theme or type of meet. The majority of my own meets are restricted to off-road and SUV's. This is because of the terrain and meet flow. It would not be fun for 15 sandking drivers to have to wait for One driver of a dump truck to make its way up Chiliad for example.

But I've never understood the no super car rule , At a road based meet ? Every meet seems to follow it, which is a shame because some of the super cars look Awsome. plus when drag racing a lot of the sports will keep up if not beat the supers.

I'm sure if there is a man to find away to open a meet up to every kinda vechile, its you tick. I look forward to it sign me up now :)

Ps will be around for a very short amount of time tonight. Is it possible the guys in the lobby could allow spectators ?

That way can watch the mini games and record some video.

@Steve: I also never understood the "no super" rule. They're still gonna do the same speed as the cruise speed (as long as that cruise speed is set - which is something rare as hosts do 2-3 minutes of cruising and then hit the hammer down - I know the feeling of everyone behind you itching to speed but a good host puts that feeling away and enjoys the cruise). As for finding a way to make an open-vehicle lobby: it's pretty easy if you section it by classes, at one point switching for a Pegasus (but the possibility of the "won't spawn" glitch is there). We've done this before with boats so it's not something foreign to us. But I just know there's a way for an Adder to be parked next to an 18-wheeler....just gotta have time to figure it out.

The event is starting in exactly 20 minutes! Seeing we've got a small group of regulars, this should be really smooth with no issues. I'll accept requests to join in the first few minutes but after that I will ignore most requests to keep the meet fun for everyone else. We'll concentrate solely on the games. As for filming: spectators are allowed by inviting them after the game has started and giving me a "okay, I'm ready" when they're spectating. Honestly? I prefer not to film this. The group is too small. I don't want a chaotic mess - I want something nice and chill; something that isn't that fun to watch. But if you guys want to record this then be my guest! There are 2-3 games that will be a massacre no matter how many players there are. :p

Minigame Night - Fan Favorites!

May 23rd, Sat. @ 3PM PDT//4PM MDT//5PM CDT//
6PM EDT//7PM ADT//11PM BST//1AM EEST (Sun.)//
3:30AM IST (Sun.)//10AM NZST (Sun.)

Feedback:
I've been typing feedback posts that could rival the first Harry Potter book - let's keep this one on a children book level, okay?

Minigame Night isn't something I thought up - I got inspired by AchievementHunter's Game Night ("what is game night?!") and watching Inside Gaming (now Funhaus, making the connection with AchievementHunter) play games on GTA V. To say I'm original would be false as the games were inspired by something but nothing could've inspired me to make more than the players who joined the past Minigame Nights and enjoyed my games. That's what keeps me coming back to Minigame Night; you guys. So with 2 fan favorites from the past Minigame Nights as well as two new ones, I set off to make this night as memorable. Sadly, I feel it wasn't due to the lack of players and my dedication to the lobby. After the games I had to go to work - something I never do as I set my meets on dates that I'm completely free of chores and worries. I was so "out of it" that I forgot to do the selfie-first tradition! You'll also see a lack of pictures of each course, something that I had written in my notes but failed to do. So with my self-hate out of the way, let's see what each game was about!

Parking Spots
Ages ago when I was hosting Forza meets, I held a musical chairs event where cars were to park in a parking space and once the music started they would turn in a circle - only a few feet away from the parking spaces. When the music stop they had to pick a parking space and with each round I would park in one space, removing a space at a time until only one space was left. Whoever parked in that space was the winner. Along with some music, I recreated this using actual "boxes" to simulate parking spaces and avoid pushing others off the spot. The imaginary circle was replaced with large garbage containers, 2 far apart with 3 in a tighter formation in the middle. A big figure 8 was done in the first rounds using the furthest containers and moving down to the tighter containers for later rounds (meaning fewer players - creating a tense atmosphere). I will say that Parking Spots was the success of the night. The music was entertaining and the small Panto cars made it a giggle-fest. No tweaking required as it worked like a charm!

Balls In My Box:
Again inspired by Forza with Top Gear's Soccer map, this one is easy to jump in and have fun. Balls were different cars and would be dropped via a cargobob in the arena. A blue team and a red team, both using Insurgents, had to push that ball in the opposing team's "box" or goal area. This game went quickly as red team got an impressive goal - hitting the ball really hard and watching it go in the blue team's unguarded net! This is definitely a classic despite being from the last Minigame Night. This needs no tweaking - maybe add a ramp or two along the walls as people LOVE to push against those walls!

Hooked On A Fueler:
So this one was the troubling one of the night. We got stuck in loading twice, playing the next game and then returning to this game for a retry. Rules were set on the fly as I haven't tested it out. Players spawned with grenades and had to suicide to spawn in Cargobobs. Meanwhile, I went in a box that would hide different vehicles ranging from an 18-wheeler with fuel trailer, box truck, frozen food delivery truck and a nice RV. The objective was to use the hook of a Cargobob, hook the vehicle (with me inside, driving along the Sandy Shore Airstrips at a slow speed) and drop me in the respective team's goal area. That rule was changed to "which team can hook me 3 times first" as whenever someone had me hooked, other Cargobobs would barrel into them and make them explode. I will say that letting players drive the vehicle would give it a great twist as it's hectic and scary to drive through a bunch of Cargobobs and explosions happening every 3 seconds. There is some tweaking to do on this one and I don't feel it's going to become a classic game type, despite being loads of fun the game just can't declare clear winners.

Dude, Where's My Mower?:
I have no idea where the inspiration for this game came from but it seems to be my most popular game mode. People enjoy capture mode so much! Make that capture in a small area, simply crossing the street to reach the enemy base, throw in lawn mowers as the objectives and some muscle A.I's to top it off and you've got fun in a can. I don't really understand why people like this game so much. I think it's because the lawn mower is the slowest vehicle in the game - you can outrun it - and makes people nervous of the other team catching up to you on BMX's or just running towards you. It gives you a thrill. One team has a curb to climb over while the other team has to climb a barely-there grass hill or take a detour towards the right onto the tarmac road. This needs no tweaking but I'm sure additions could be made to make it more interesting. Maybe make a copy and call it the extreme version?

So there you have it! That's the most popular games that work and that I feel comfortable playing. I'll be adding the fan favorite games as more Minigame Nights happen so please tell me which game you enjoyed the most to keep playing it!

I admit that I'm ashamed,
when I say I like this game.
It consists of balls in my box,
one host and a bunch of c*cks!

Pictures:

To let others join the event, I held a small "let's vote" car meet to kill some time:
0_0.jpg

I said to those in the lobby to bring the most random car they've got - apparently random is another word for tuner:
0_0.jpg

Here we are voting for "Car You'd Most Likely Cruise In" - it's a tie! We all won!
0_0.jpg

We then did "Car You'd Most Likely Cruise In Minus The Purple Car" (my car) and wanktash emerged the winner with a rare sight: an electric car! You deserve that win, congrats!
0_0.jpg

Nothing screams "Grim Reaper" like a car that makes no sound so you can hear when you sh*t yourself before slamming into a wall, killing yourself with pants full of poop:
0_0.jpg

With the secret theme being tuners, Freddy won "Best of Show" as his ride looks like something West Coast Customs would do. Banging! Congrats on the win, a very tasteful ride. Holy sh*t! I just realized that both winners represent death. RUN!
0_0.jpg

Sadly, no start picture was taken to show the course. Here we are, jumping right in!
0_0.jpg

Players, using Pantos, would drive in circles along to some music:
0_0.jpg

When the music stopped, they would park in these:
0_0.jpg

Here are the tighter containers for when 3 players are left:
0_0.jpg

Skill had nothing to do with it - only luck for when the music stopped (to which I wasn't looking at the players during final rounds to avoid giving the win to someone in particular, etc.):
0_0.jpg

A lot of bum stuff went on:
0_0.jpg

Here's the 2nd round - 1st round letting everyone park, this round removing one of those spots:
0_0.jpg

*Mambo music starts*
0_0.jpg

*Mambo music keeps playing*
0_0.jpg

It's still playing?
0_0.jpg

*music stops*
GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO GO!
0_0.jpg

The winner of the first round wasn't found - I asked and no one responded. Seeing we had Troops with us, I'm guessing he was the winner. Congrats Troops! If not Troops - tell me.
0_0.jpg

The rounds went quickly and each game lasted for around 3 minutes so we went for another one:
0_0.jpg

"I was here first!"
0_0.jpg

*Purple tries to climb a wall*
0_0.jpg

Night fell but the fiesta was still going:
0_0.jpg

Great action shot of the...euh...action:
0_0.jpg

Round 2 finalist wasn't picture but it was won by wanktash, congrats!

With the games now complete, we went for a little deathmatch to 10 kills. It gave the chance for players to let some steam out and take any confrontations in a safe manner:
0_0.jpg

But everyone was cool with one another so they were just killing one another out of kindness:
0_0.jpg

"Take that, you polite motherf*cker!"
0_0.jpg

I can't remember who won this deathmatch as each deathmatch we had was also a game in itself:
0_0.jpg

Next was Balls In My Box and seeing how we had 7 players (8 counting me as host but not playing), Outkast stepped out and hopped in a ball to make each team with 3 players. Thanks Outkast! The concept of someone in a ball is definitely something worth keeping around:
0_0.jpg

Outkast was like a girl at Comic-Con: everyone hit on him:
0_0.jpg

And for my next trick I will make a ball disappear...
0_0.jpg

Believe it or not, Outkast was having a blast!
0_0.jpg

The first round ended with the point going to blue team!

Outkast was deciding between balls before setting his eyes on this long ball:
0_0.jpg

He got pounded hard:
0_0.jpg

Crushed and ran into, sometimes over, but this ball was strong!
0_0.jpg

The second round was quickly won by red team with a kick from far away, sliding the ball right into the goal of blue team.

The third and last goal was done by red team, making them the champions! Go get those balls!
0_0.jpg

But blue team were great sports and will join red team in the hunt for more balls!
0_0.jpg

So many ball jokes. *shakes head*
0_0.jpg

Watch out!
0_0.jpg

Oh crap! What's going on?
0_0.jpg

Oh, it's Dude, Where's My Mower! The most popular game only has 3 pictures as I took part in this to make it fair...yet we still lost both games. The winners are:

Round 1:MT, Yellow, Crow, Outkast
Round 2:Same team!

Congrats!

Man I just f*cking love GAME NIGHT! It’s Ludacris, Hilarious and most of all fun. Tick you surely have this on lockdown and you have a regular in me for future game nights. I was anxiously waiting for Where’s My Mower? But ended up playing just the first round. I did click pictures of the 2nd round and I do hope I got enough pictures for y’all to enjoy.

Game night is such a stress buster. The lobby was small and cheerful. So many jokes and so many laughs thrown around by almost everyone there. This truly felt like a bunch of friends hanging out and enjoying a nice laid back gaming event. Was great to catchup with Freddy and Deathhound after a long time :) and was fun kicking it with Yello, Crow (Ka-kaa), MT (who missed just the recess’ ;) ) and the rest who joined even if it was for a bit. It was so funny, whilst waiting for Troops and someone else to join (sorry can’t recall who, was it MT? :/) that some random guy GT:SilverMountain (clueless why I read his GT as Brokeback Mountain) joined in. And when (after a long wait) they showed up the whole lobby was excited. It’s really nice to have an active and understanding lobby like we did today for Mini Game night and I hope future lobby’s would have the same level of understanding and patience. Everyone was co-operative, attentive and talkative. So thank you everyone (mentioned and not-mentioned) for making Game Night a fun event for me! Last but not least, much respect and props to Tick for hosting these events. Like I said at the end of Balls In My Box, if you ever need a testee, you can count on me! :D

Pictures of game night!

0_0_zpsph4q12do.jpg

Voting before game night. I love my Kuruma but the other cars were nicely done as well.

0_0_zpsgfaluyuk.jpg

But... i still love my Kuruma! :)

0_0_zpsfuplabh1.jpg

Here is Freddy getting owned by the AI. Who could have survived those "things" all at once.

0_0_zpsiv2bbczo.jpg

No matter how hard those "things" came down on him, Freddy refused to give up.

0_0_zpsuozgrmwx.jpg

0_0_zpsv4lgxiqv.jpg

Here we see Tick making a run from another exit point to secure a point for his team.

0_0_zpsh0qyxtga.jpg

i decided to switch sides to where the action was actually taking place...

0_0_zpspl4hrj5u.jpg

... and boy was there a lot of action! Notice how Freddy sneeks away in this shot.

0_0_zpssiskdxkx.jpg

MAYHEM!

0_0_zpsa4oxp6lc.jpg

WELL, that's about all the pictures i clicked. Few indeed but i was having way too much fun at Mini Game Night. Thanks Tick and everyone again. :)

Tick; great night last night. I thought the bunch we had were great. Outkast summed it up well; a "bunch of friends hanging out and enjoying a nice laid back gaming event".

Parking Spots: I loved this. A simple game but well executed and thought out. I could easily have played a few more rounds.

Balls in my box: This is the second time I've played this game and I think it worked better than last time as there were fewer players. 3 v 3 meant the 'ball' wasn't pinned to the side with loads of Insurgents piling up. This was nicely demonstrated by a goal being scored in seconds!

Hooked on a fueller: A difficult concept to pull off but you know what, I quite enjoyed ploughing into Cargobobs to stop them hooking up. :)

Dude where's my mower: God this was frustrating...however it was fantastically great, frustrating fun. I seemed to be the only one for 5 minutes trying to steal a mower but Wanktash and his bunch of NPC cronys killed me at least 12 times until someone else pitched up, killed him and i was able to steal a Mower! Frustrating yes but please don't change it! Or at least the concept. This is a great little game which can be placed anywhere on the map.

The lobby was great. Nice show of 'random' cars at the beginning with banter and fun throughout. :)

Even a few issues with the R* servers or whatever didn't dampen the enthusiasm.

I hardy took any photos as I was too busy enjoying myself. :)

Nice small selection of cars

I actually enjoy that you guys have very few pictures - shows you were playing the games. :)

Great stuff, everyone! Glad everyone had a good time. As said: tweaks will be made, so glad you guys tested some guys out for me. Let's get these next meets ranging from my S.E.X meet to other meets hosted by a few other hosts and then we'll crack on the new batch of games.

Great to play with you guys again yesterday. Yes! I did say that, i did think about other ways to say it but meh! I got the times wrong so i was an hour late, and very hungover. My head was pounding but for the short time i was there i forgot about the head and had a great time as i always do.

I finially got to experience "Dude, wheres my mower" and sh*t im glad i did. It is an awesome game that i hope returns in the future. Being chased by somebody on foot when your on that POS lawnmower is a nail biting feeling. Lack of weapons makes for a awesome game!!!! So much bashing and general nervousness as you try to sneak away with a lawn mower feeling like your in slow motion just so much fun.

Next, the game that wouldn't start, Hooked on a fueler: Great concept, i totally enjoyed dive bombing other cargo bobs, problem being the user/team name or color doesn't show till your past the point of pulling out so i probably ended up pushing my team of the "ball" or blowing them up a few times but it was good fun :-) Also thanks to those who turn up (on time lol) every meet and make things enjoyable.

Shame i didn't turn my xbox on earlier as i was up, trying to get my hangover to a manageable state before the meet and could have joined for the start but these things happen. Next time :-) Thanks Tick and sorry no photos from me as yea well i wasn't prepared and camera was full again dam it.

Whoa, a teaser about a joint meet?! Even I'm excited for this!

There is something in the works but not "soon". At least enough time for you guys to take a break, take a kitkat. It's a concept that a few hosts have thrown my way but with CJ (Vault) here, it may actually come true and better than what the other hosts suggested. I'll leave it at that. ;)

@MT: Late or not, always glad to have you! The mower game is something that I got extremely lucky with. I honestly did not think it was going to be so popular as it is - all thanks to how sh*t the mower is! Like an artist known for one song, I have a love-hate relationship with that game. I will do variations of it and see which one works best - different A.I's, more objects, special objects, etc. No worries about no pics, I'm actually glad people played the games instead of focusing on pics. But you should always clean your snapmatic before a meet just in case! I said in the meet that the Cargobob game was inspired by something I found in the Content Creator section but I didn't say it here. If anyone is interested it's by this guy (it's on PC):

http://gtaforums.com/topic/795481-am-new-creator-need-opinions/

@Hash: If PC doesn't work and want to join a meet and not at work, message me on Xbox LIVE as I check there every night. I can give info/times there to anyone who asks (but I typically prefer for them to sign up here).

2 days left until the meet day!

So I go on R* Social Club to tweak my crew color and I see this:

R* public team showcased Off-Road All Stars which I thought was a rip-off of Steve & Company's crew as the logo isn't what I remember it being...but then I saw Phoenix's gamertag in there! If anyone forgot; Phoenix was on the 360 but now manages the X1 side of the All Stars crew. Interested, I read through it and I even checked out their online magazine. Really reminds me of the old days of my Forza club - well, the club I was part of (DigitalAllStars which also has All Stars in it). We also had a magazine (Forza Nation for any Forza fans out there!) so it's really cool to see that GTA isn't that different after all. I read through Steve's interview (and skimmed through the other interviews and articles as there's SO much!) and I got a little mention by Steve. I do think it's a bit weird that our gamertags aren't the full title and that we're mentioned as if people should know us (I was mentioned as Tick). Cynister and someone else got mentioned as a reply/question but in the form of "you mean those guys?" with no explanation on who they were (as far as I know/read). I will say: hats off to whoever wrote/edit those articles. Super well written. I'm very impressed!

Anyone interested in knowing my past meets on Forza as well as pictures taken by me and other members - it's one of the few links that I could find, the other being our old Facebook page. Site wasn't attracting attention and others moved on to real-life projects:

Congrats to Steve & Phoenix and all others over at All Stars. :)

Hi tick bummed I missed the mini games night. Musical cars looks like great fun. And unlike meets pictures, mini games pics never tell the full story or convey the

Thanks for the crew mention, it's nice to see Some of the guys who worked on the magazine have recognition, I agree it is well written and there is some obvious talent.

It also nice to see Rockstar recognise in a small way, the rather large community that enjoys passive car meets and in this case off-roading. Are they finally recognising a community that enjoys so much more than improving KD ratios and racing around the prison and glitches.

In regards to the magazine and gammer tags. I'm sure if Phoenix was aware this magazine was to be posted on the rockstar website, she would have posted full gammer tags if given time to re edit. It's was orginally written for the people who wrote it to enjoy, nothing more intended. Within that small group, the majority of us are active on the forums and have attended meets past and present, and know yourself and cynister by your GTA imposed names.

Thanks for the links to your forza stuff. I had a look through what I could find a few months back following a conversation we had. Although some of the links are not working now on the page. Would have loved to have been part of that scene, but I was in the dark days of championship manager addiction.

This. So much this. It's about time R* realizes that the game is so diverse that the community is doing things they probably didn't imagine they would be doing. Sure, exploring isn't a new thing but with friends in the form of meets? You only see that in racing games and games that are all about cars. I doubt the public relations team and R* themselves will talk to one another about car meets as it's still a niche thing. If they made an event or added features/options for us such as letting us take pictures in races and use any car we want or something more plausible like calling a contact that repairs your car on the spot for $500 or something - those things would be confusing to non-meet players. Why repair your car when you can just call another one? And why would you need to take pictures in races? It's cool we're finally getting attention but stuff that appears on R* Social Club never makes an impact on game content. It will show when the PR team talks to R* themselves once we get a better crew emblem maker. That thing is just horrible to use.

DigitalAllStars links don't really work as the club died about 2 years ago. That's the reason I never joined any crews on here as people move to real-life projects and those left in the club struggle to keep a meaning to it. But Off-Road All Stars grew faster than my club and that's really cool to see. Can't wait to see where you guys go from here. :)

*edit*

Greetings, rookies! The S.E.X has been moved an hour later as this is an international meet - some trainees need to work in the dark while others need some good shuteye to be prepared for anything! I do hope you will still show up and give the agency an idea on what the new trainees are capable of. This message has also been sent to your Xbox device.

See you on the field tomorrow, rookies!

But aren't you PoisonedGas? Hey, as long as he's got a mic (or if he's cool as we do have some non-mic players that I trust), he understands the theme and you can vouch for him he's more than welcome! But this is a top secret meet - don't tell ANYONE else! ;)

Last night or so I sent a message on Xbox LIVE saying that the meet was pushed an hour later and MTB automatically wins the "Playing An Agent In An Ashton Kutcher Comedy" by sending me this:

"Excellent. i have a few "hits" to take care of tonight so that gives me more time to prepare. This message will self destruct in 3...2...1 f*ck i didnt think this through properly"

Okay, rookies! The S.E.X is taking place in around 4 hours. Keep in mind that you're representing the agency so don't act suspicious. Get your coffee, dispose of that body in the trunk and conceal your weapons! We're going to profile people and call them terrorists!
