kicked from invite only session for being idle?

i am sure we all have been in this situation, you go to invite only, go to the bathroom, make a sandwich, check gta forums, and then boom! you are kicked for being idle. i really see no point for this to be in an invite only session. what do you think?

Even in Solo Session. My mom calls me for lunch, I leave for like 20-30 mins, I get back and I got kicked for idling.

I suspect it's just a server load thing - you don't want to waste connections on people that aren't playing. If you really need to push a big boy out, just wedge something on the controller to keep your dude walking around. Usually I just let it time out or flick back to GTAV.

 

Also invites etc, I send out a crew invite, it'd be nice if the people receiving them were actually sitting at the console and not wiping their bum or preparing food.

SpidersWeb is on the money, it's to reduce the load of connections to the cloud servers, and yes OP, Solo sessions also kick you.

plug in your controller, sit it down on the ground so that the camera view stick spins.

 

boom, you can go afk for hours/days/months.

 

 

I did this a month ago in an invite only session in with my friend, left my house, went to his and robbed endless armored trucks all day on his profile.

Going somewhere? Use a rubber band or a tie wrap and tie the thumb sticks together with the right one facing in slightly - that'll make you look around the whole time you're idling. It's what I've ended up doing now. No idling since you're looking around; therefore, no kick for being idle.

I just use my hair tie on the right stick while im afk. Thats why my longest session was like 3 days and some change lol

Whenever I have a bounty placed on me by an NPC or player, I switch to Invite Only, go in my garage and make my character walk in circles while I check the forum. That way I don't tease people by staying in my garage with a bounty and I get money (which I always want and need).

You just gotta put your controller down and make the thumbsticks go in any direction so your character moves (or even just the camera spinning in circles).

2- go to strip club, lean against the stage

3- go to any ammunation to change clothes...keep the item menu open

 

 

These are all ways you can remain idle indefinetly without getting kicked....its not rocket science.

dude,it's not your job criticising people's choices.He starts an "invite only" session to play solo or with friends and get ridiculously kicked for being idle from where only people invited by him can join.This is stupid.If it's my own server,I can leave the console for even 1 hour.Because there is no chance to block other people's online gameplay

Right lol 2 min pass then you get the 13 min warning. yea its a little strict but at the same time I cant have to much beef with it as some people take advantage of that sh*t in survivals.

Because not every 10 year old that plays this game is smart enough to figure out that using a rubber band will prevent players from being kicked. Also Rockstar doesn't know your boosting when you are just walking around in a circle, so them adding this feature in helps prevent people who aren't very smart and accidents.

if you are going to be idle for 13 minutes, invite only or not, you deserve to be kicked, You are taking up server space.

 

Besides, its an invite only, it literally takes 4-5 seconds to load.
