Tchuck
Sold. Published by Paradox, who publishes some of my favourite games, and made by people who seem to know what they're doing. Watched a couple of videos, and yep, there goes the money. Can't wait to get home today and start up a city! OysterBarron
OysterBarron
I lasted 2 days take my money........ Edit : So i'm very impressed so far i just have a few complaints. How do you turn of the grainy filter applied across the whole screen? Is there a mod for disabling DOF? Is anyone else disappointed with the lack of a feature that enables you to strip female anime characters down to their lingerie It would be a 10/10 if that was to be added my little town so far! trip
I don't really get any grain. I just get the blur, but I understand that has something to do with it being pushed for 4K. The game is great. I just lost 4 straight hours of my life and didn't know it. I just stopped playing and was like "holy sh*t! It's 9:15"??? I don't really have any gripes but if I did I'd say the game could use a bit more pizzazz. Some organized street parades to let me know how great I am. Some protests to bitch about sh*t. You know...let me know that the citizens are there and that they are human. Give me a traffic accident to to throw off traffic patterns. But no sh*t. The game is great and if you love traditional city building games you are totally crazy not to be playing right now. Coin
City has grown quite a bit now. Still only using two squares, but have more unlocked for when I feel the need to expand more. Been running into a lot of problems with traffic though. Mostly in part to the way traffic utilizes lanes and that emergency vehicles don't seem to have any priority or special behaviour about them. Only really prevalent with the fire sercices though; too many of my buildings get burnt down because of this. Relatively minor problem overall though. YukiEiri
Is there a mod for disabling DOF? Have you tried, I don't know, going in to the options and turning it off perhaps?
RyanBurnsRed
Yeah as standard there is an extra 8 boxes you can unlock from your initial starting box. Apparently there's a mod that unlocks 25 box's but is not officially supported as game experience may vary if you're using a RM nimbus. So these boxes combine to make a bigger box? I mean, compared to Cities XL how large do you think your city could become? It looks great, I'm just not sure how I feel about the box limit like SimCity. I remember getting so close to the factories that I could see the products moving down the assembly line.

Have you tried, I don't know, going in to the options and turning it off perhaps? damn man y u so salty. OT I'm getting a kick out of watching people flooding their cities. The water physics in this game are impressive.

Have you tried, I don't know, going in to the options and turning it off perhaps?I wasn't aware they had called it tilt shift effect! I looked it up on reddit and it was the the only option I didn't mess about with because I was looking for a dof slider.

Reformed Squid
Each box is 2x2km, which is the size of a SimCity 2013 map. A city can have 9 boxes, with up to 25 with a mod. That equals 10x10km for all 25 tiles, which is about the Cities XL map size of 10.5x10.5km. Also, the population is hardcapped at 1 million, but that shouldn't be a problem considering the most population I've seen it one box is 50k and that was with wall-to-wall high-rises. Unless your whole city is skyscrapers you shouldn't hit the limit.
flyer2359
Yeah it's almost impossible to hit 1 million people. Basically 100,000 people in this game (imo) feels like what 1 million people would be in SimCity 4 as far as challenge wise and busyness of the city. RedDagger
Quite a few people have suggested inflating the numbers a little, since although what we currently have is a precise count of everyone simulated, the amount of people is far smaller than buildings and public transport would suggest - having only 20 people in an office block or a few dozen on a metro train when it's really busy is a bit weird, for example. OysterBarron
OK so I made an asset. Saved it but I cannot see where the hell in game it appears. Is there a button I'm missing or something?
RedDagger
If it's a intersection or some other road thing, it appears where the roundabouts are I believe, more generally where the template used is located.

El Dildo
ok that is f*cking awsome. I wasn't going to play Skylines until after I was pretty satisfied with Dying Light. but now I may have to rethink that strategy.... Flachbau

trip
Someone(they used to hang here) did a great VC for TheSims 3. Totally worth it. That V city looks sweet. Again - I'm freaking loving this game. RedDagger
hmmm do i have to share it before it will show up as it's deffently not in there i checked every tab i could find. No, should just be there...on the main menu go to Content Manager>Assets tab, should just be a list of your custom assets. Might be worth loading an 'everything unlocked' game (one of the cheats) and looking again. Also, that map is awesome! I wonder what it's like in motion OysterBarron
OysterBarron
Yeah i found it, strange thing is it has an unlock @ x ammount of residents on it. Davo the Assassin
Snip On that note, are there disasters in this game? That used to be one of my favourite things to do in SC. Build up a city, then unleash havoc on it.
trip
No disasters outside of a dam overflowing or whatnot and flooding out parts of a city. Traffic can be something of a disaster. Gone are the days of Maxis' semi realistic traffic. Every f*cking car, truck, van, whatever needs to get from point A to point B in game time. Cosmic Gypsy
Love this game. Love the user created content also, i just wish i could individually place buildings instead of hoping the building i downloaded gets built in the spot i want it to be built in. OysterBarron
I'm enjoying the transport system management. A lot of large freight trucks seem to come strait in and out of the city. I've put a main road strait from the city entrance directly to my industrial area so they have a direct route there and don't travel into my main commercial and residential areas. I then have a main 6 lane road connecting to each of my residential avenue ends that then connects closer to the industrial areas main road end point. This causes my residents to use that route in order to travel there and keeps the main freight route flowing from the city entrance and at the moment there's no congestion at all. Some smaller vans that travel from the industrial area to my commercial areas have started using the residents road to reach there destination, I will have to keep an eye on that as they go from 6 lanes into the end of my residential avenues but as of now there's not any issues. trip
I'm with you on enjoying the tight transit management. My problem is I always feel bad when I have to displace people by restructuring an area. I should be doing some road upgrades quicker than I am but I just can't bring myself to disrupt the lives of my fake citizens. Can't praise this game enough. trip
Sorry - can't help myself. After retooling some transit stuff(roads and buses) I have some nice traffic flows. So I decided to do some district labels and such. Moth
City has grown quite a bit now. So looking at this, one box is equal to one map/plot/city in Sim City 2013? Formerly known as The General
