Coin
so wait is this a direct sequel to Cities XL? It's related to the Cities in Motion franchise. El Dildo

RedDagger
It's nice watching livestreamers play the game a huge amount - one of the problems with SimCity 2013 was that no-one had played barely even 10 hours of the game before release, so all the broken parts of the game weren't known. But here we have people playing dozens of hours and it's looking mostly fine, which is awesome. I say mostly, because traffic still has a few issues with pathing, and the notifications aren't clear enough in how important they are - right now people tend to phase them out, even though they relay information such as "the water source being dangerously polluted" and "over 50k people died in a matter of minutes"... Still, can't wait to see how this fairs on release, and with mods down the line.

RedDagger
As you may or may not know, you can import heightmaps to use in Cities:Skylines. The default maps in the game are pretty flat, so for more interesting landscapes to build on, you'd wanna use a heightmap. In comes this website, where you search an area and it spits out the heightmap of the area you've chosen. AKA build a city where you live! Edit: in other news, you can now have 25 tiles max instead of 9 tiles. Game's been modded and hasn't even come out yet! Cosmic Gypsy
Game was only restricted to 9 tiles because the devs were worried some peoples PC couldn't handle something like 25. I have to admit, my PC would probably burst into flames, I'm hoping i can handle just 9 tiles. The one gripe i have with this game is the lack of terraced or semi detached housing, it all seems to be very much US style buildings, i hate to mention Cities XL because that game is just an abomination but the one thing they got right was giving us the ability to individually place buildings and having European houses off all styles, so we could make neighbor hoods that are truly created by us. Marina has said though that terraced housing and European buildings will be included in a free DLC later on. No day/night/weather cycle annoys me also, even if it was just cosmetic, i would want that in the game. Other than that this game looks perfect and it's just the thing I've been waiting for since i stopped kidding myself and realized Cities XL was an abomination, didn't even bother with XXL or the new Sim City. flyer2359
I'm so frigging pumped for this game lol. I feel like it will be one of those addicting games that you'll accidentally spend 8 hours straight playing multiple days in a row .

E•MO•TION
So this comes out on Tuesday, and so do Heists! What am I gonna do!? Histing with 2281? This game looks extremely promising, but unfortunately I don't have a good enough PC to play anything these days. My intention was to build one in time for this (amongst other games), but I feel a little overwhelmed right now so I may not get to it for the next few weeks or so. Reformed Squid
This looks beautiful. Hopefully it will have an active modding community like Cities XL. I'm sure it will.
RedDagger
The game has a large focus on modding, including an in-game asset creator for anything in the game. Considering the modding community that SC4 had/has, and that many disappointed by SC2013 are jumping on this, it's almost certain the modding community for CS will be active for quite a while. Reformed Squid
I hope my crappy laptop can at least allow me to play at 15-20 FPS at lowest settings. Cities XL ran at about 15-30 FPS on an empty map at lowest settings and the performance just got worse and worse as my cities grew bigger. Let's not even mention how bad the game would run with lots of mods. I remember turning up the graphics to max for screenshots and the game would literally run at 1 FPS. It made taking screenshots like this one a monumental, time-consuming task. The city wasn't even that big. Hopefully C:S will run a bit better than that game. trip
Sweet. I'll be playing it after getting frustrated by "network errors" while trying out GTAO heists tomorrow. Really though, I hope this game is as good as it is looking. I wouldn't mind a nice new city building game keeping me up hours past my bed time. Good times. Audiophile
Yeah, the publishers dun goofed and did not specify a time for Steam, hence why the store page just says "March 10". So, the release will come when the Steam Store updates at 10 a.m. PST (west coast time). That is 2 p.m. for the East coast and late afternoon/early evening for the EU. Hell, it's the next day for Australia/New Zealand, by that point. It sucks for me because I have a day off tomorrow. But still, 2 p.m. isn't that bad. Reformed Squid
After looking at some lets-plays, this game looks like a masterpiece. I'm still lol'ing though at people building their cities as nothing but buildings of the same height, but I suppose that makes since if you're playing the game specifically from the strategic aspect and not to make a pretty, realistic looking city. It just looks kind of silly. I'm just so f*cking excited for this game Edited March 10, 2015 by Cloudee
Nico
From time to time I play city tycoon games, especially if I can manage transport systems on them. I'll try this game soon. Did you see the frightened ones? Did you hear the falling bombs? Did you ever wonder... ...why we had to run for shelter when the promise of a brave new world unfurled beneath a clear blue sky? X S
Mine is downloaded and working, but I can't start on it! But I have so much to do today, and I only played the Fleeca jobs of Heists. Davo the Assassin
Holy sh*t. Just been watching Sips LP of this and to be honest it looks fantastic. Was playing SC just last night and quickly got annoyed with the issues of the game. But this looks so fluid and good! I think as soon as I have an income this will be one of my first buys! RedDagger
Well, game's released fine and dandy, only a few people with minor issues. I'm really tempted to buy this, but I have exams starting May...I don't know it it'll give an increase in procrastination or not. I know I can say 'ave fun to the people who have got it!
