Cosmic Gypsy
I love city building games... This looks a million times better than Sim City 5 and Cities XL, so I'm excited.
Straypuft
oooh I hope it incorporates transit system building!
gtamann123
Looks pretty good. Hopefully you can build really big cities with suburbs around them like Sim City 4.
98 in 1
Looks really good. Laughed at play offline, glad they had the stones to acknowledge the f*ck up that was Sim City... E•MO•TION, universetwisters and gtamann123
gtamann123
Looks really good. Laughed at play offline, glad they had the stones to acknowledge the f*ck up that was Sim City... Exactly. I still play SC4 to this day and have never even considered purchasing the new SC after hearing that it was always online. Sim City isn't an online thing to me. universetwisters

E•MO•TION
Is this a new IP or is it related to CitiesXL in any way? Completely new and it has no relation to Cities XL in any way! Edited August 19, 2014 by 2281
Cosmic Gypsy
the city in those screenshots looks like a half decent size and they still have plenty of land to develop on. (i presume so anyway since i can't see any visual boarders in sight)
Straypuft
Is this a new IP or is it related to CitiesXL in any way? They make another game called Cities in Motion, where you control the city's transit system from buses to trains and subways. http://www.citiesinmotion2.com/ I imagine Cities will be similar
RyanBurnsRed
What was wrong with CitiesXL? Apart from the bad optimization, I thought it was a very good game.' Anyway I remember reading about this a few days ago. I'll definitely be picking this up. Reason why I haven't gotten SimCity was because of the hilariously small space they give you to build your cities.
tubbs51
That is f*cking awesome. The fact that it's Paradox behind it makes me even happier. I love EUIV and CK2.
ArcadeWilliamz
This game looks cool and I hope there will be huge maps like Cities XL and sandbox mode because it's fun.
Cosmic Gypsy
What was wrong with CitiesXL? Apart from the bad optimization, I thought it was a very good game.' The bad optimization was what's wrong with it, every time my city went above the 500,000 population mark my game would crash and corrupt the save, and it would lag horrifically for ages before hand. (My PC's specs crush the recommended specs by the way.) Not only that but some of the bad design choices are just ridiculous, like freeway's literally having junctions as if their one lane roads, and cars disappearing in the middle of them, the whole game just seemed like an amateur attempt at a Sim City clone to me, the only plus side was the large maps and the ability to place individual buildings, so you could end up with area's of just one type of house. (Like terraced housing, etc.) Edited August 20, 2014 by Cosmic Gypsy
Rewas
Looks fun. I was always a fan of city building games!
Coin
I'd of been more excited had Cities in Motion 2 not happened the way it did..
gtamann123
Can't wait for this. SC4 is a fun game but is starting to get boring now that I have been playing it for about 6 years. I am just curious to see how the regions are structured. If I can't build a large core city with several small independent suburbs surrounding it I will be dissapointed. But according to the website there will be neigh or in cities with connections between them. And I also like the ability to name individual neighnorhoods in the city. Hopefully you can also have more control over architectural styles and certain development restrictions in each neighborhood as well. So you can build a unique and distinct Chinatown, Little Italy, etc. Edited August 21, 2014 by gtamann123 Cosmic Gypsy
universetwisters
This sh*t looks good but I dunno if I'll play it. I dunno why, but simulator/tycoon games never kept my attention for long after I finished making whatever it was I wanted to make.
E•MO•TION
Just a friendly bump informing everyone that this game is scheduled to be released on March 10th. miroman
I really hope there will be a first person mode where you get down on street level and explore. Are there any games other than Cities XL that have this? Edited February 14, 2015 by miroman
Eurotrash
Probably the only game I'd buy this year, if it weren't made by Paradox. If this game will be as DLC dependent as Crusader Kings II is I think I'd rather buy SimCity.

RedDagger
I've been following this game for quite a while now, and all the things I've read from the devs and the screens they've released make it seem like a very worthwhile purchase! I'm looking forward to how their focus on modding/creation affects the game in the long run, we all know how well SC4 has benefited from active modding. I will say, however, that the deluxe edition is a bit of a piss-take - £7 for 5 famous buildings. Yeah, no.

OysterBarron
Don't think so cities xxl is the direct sequel to cites xl, this I believe is a new franchise by a different developer.
