Aero Dynamo Posted August 18, 2014 Share Posted August 18, 2014 Looking for good tips for shooting jets down. I have unlocked the minigun but i often find it useful in close rangers. I have tried using heavy sniper for far off shooting but often i cannot put a lock on the jet. I have tried using the Tank but get blown up by hardly 2-3 shots from the jets cannons. The reason why i have asked this is cause now days i have encountered lots of guys spamming jets instead of tanks. They dont use tanks anymore and go for jets instead. They desperately need a lock on launcher in this game, especially since there's the possibility of a Flight School DLC dropping tomorrow. Or if you are intent on staying on the ground, nothing is better than the RPG. Heavy sniper is good for causing damage, and getting them off your back, but for the kill definitely the RPG. The reason is because the RPG lags like crazy & basically goes invisible (At least it does for me on the digital version of GTA) so if you get it in the right area, there is pretty much no way to avoid it because you cannot see it. It might be different for people with the disc version of the game, but RPG is definitely the one that still gets me from time to time on the lag version haha. Use a tank, always line yourself up so a large wall gives you cover from a jet and surprise them, unless they are skilled and dive bomb you, you should take em out easy. 4. Heavy sniper the back of the jet 5. Heavy sniper the pilot 6. RPG them as they approach you (it makes it easier for them to spot you but you might get lucky and hit them) 7.Call a mugger, eventually your attempts will make the jet smoke and most pilots would go back to Zancudo, you might get lucky and have a mugger stab them and take off in their jet. 8.Take cover behind pine, palm trees. They are indestructible and offer enough visibility to make the jet think they can take you out, they risk crashing. 9. Lure them to invisible barriers, they're out there, I flew by a sign where the enterable bank is and it ripped my wing off (i had like 4 feet between the jet and sign) As a jet pilot, I have been on both sides of the battle often, however I choose to just join a race since its still too much trouble. CrimsonFolo Posted August 18, 2014 Share Posted August 18, 2014 As an avid jet pilot I would recommend a heavy sniper ( or musket ) the heavy sniper is effective and if shot at the back thruster It will permanently injure the jet thruster and the thruster will randomly cut every now and then causing it to descend quickly and perhaps to their death. And plus it will buy you time aswell. If you have a few friends and all of you fire at the jet wig heavy sniper, the jet is toast too and a missile which is shot from a jet seems to be more effective at hitting the jet than a rocket or buzzard rocket. OT: The heavy sniper and lead the shot on the jet has always worked for me, you know when the shot hit the jet when there is a tiny black spot that pops up from your bullet hitting it. Multiple famous reputable leakers have found code for a flight school DLC involving the Hydra, Mil-jet, Besra, a new Coquette, parachutes, flight school missions, flight suits. Tomorrow is National Aviation day and R* hasn't released a DLC in about 7 weeks now, there has never been such a long gap between updates before, so believing that we might see one tomorrow is reasonable. lol232 Posted August 18, 2014 Share Posted August 18, 2014 Jet pilot here, many people already said it but here are good ways to f*ck around with them because I was on both sides: 1. -Get Lester ready so you can call him for "Off the radar" -when you're turning and the pilot misses you and flies, immediately call for "Off the radar" -afterwards immediately turn around or go any other way so he can't see you -laugh at him for flying around the place he last sow you being in 2. Always make unexpected turns when he's about to shoot you, try making a U-turn or slow-down so he overflies you, and while you're a pedestrian turn passive mode on. I rarely do Laser rampages now, I mainly use the jet nowdays to dogfight Buzzards, other Laser's and to kill Tank drivers. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

It rely's on the fact you don't have to actually have the jet all the way in the cross hairs to hit. Due to distance Rockstar logic will randomly register a hit if your target is in the general area of the shot.
