I am trying hard not to create anything new until Xbox One version launches, but.. anyway here's some new sh*t, some of it based on some old sh*t ;D

 

Plamen, have you heard if our content (custom created jobs) will automatically be transferred over to XBOX ONE? Just wondered if that was why you weren't planning on publishing anything new until the next gen is released?

Yeah, that's exactly the case, I try not to put a lot of hours in the creator anymore,

as I really doubt that R* will allow custom jobs transfer from old gen to current gen.

 

I am experimenting with some basic concepts, or using existing jobs to create something quick. No more countless hours working on ambitious projects :D

 

In that way I can keep my expectation level in check, otherwise can get really disappointed once I need to start all over again. Instead I accepted this as highest probable scenario (starting with 0 jobs), and I already work on my planning about which jobs I will recreate/update on Xbox One.

 

Could be a good thing though, recreating jobs from scratch - I believe I can do it a lot better now, having all this experience gathered in the last year. And after all I don't really need all my 140 jobs... I will probably need to recreate about 30 of them. There is another positive thing - I can definitely see more props in the Creator on Xbox One. I am pretty sure R* made the 50 prop limit only because of the technical limitation of old gen consoles.

I think this thread (or another one) could also develop as a Malicious teamwork area for developing/refining concepts together - one guy develops a concept (e.g. trying different areas for underwater deathmatches, or some new kind of Trials race, or utilizing a specific area for something more innovative, using some different type of ramp setup etc.), then he shares the "Beta" here, and others help the creator with ideas on what to develop. Or other creators taking the concepts and using it for something else, that kind of thing. I am not concerned that this is a public forum, others can join if they like, they can even use some of those concepts.

 

We've already seen such teamwork, lot of ideas get developed and used by other MAIN creators, really cool collaboration flows even without being so systematic about this thing. But in case we can put some more focused effort in this, I believe we can benefit even more from such malicious synergy :D

 

Anyway, on practical level - here's one case of a concept I would like to develop furthermore somehow, I don't have an idea yet how. It's not a big innovation of any kind, I am not even sure if it's rather stupid concept, but let's see ;D The idea is for a bumpy race (sets of small ramps, right after another). Could be a GTA race primarily or maybe just a dirty racing played as a Normal race.

I tried using it in a rectangle-shaped loop (0,4 miles), it's 2-lane road, sets of 3 small ramps used. Then I experimented with exchanging one of the 3 ramps in some of those sets with a bigger (Medium or even Large ramp), just so you can make it variable and provoke players to search for best path. Initially I placed some boosts, but then I removed them since they create too much speed kinda killing the concept. Added some rockets, only a few at specific spots. Then the bigger challenge was finding proper vehicle classes, which is still difficult to see until I test few more possibilities. So far I see it works quite good with a Sanchez & Blazer. I also enabled it for Cycles (Scorcher only). Managed to test it with 12 people on the creators event, but wasn't valid since selecting Offroad locked to Blazers, also enabled people using the Custom Offroad vehicles (although there's no such option available).

 

Here's the beta, if you want to take a look, I will host it couple of times with different classes on the Daily Specials this week, let's brainstorm.

So, here are the development challenges

  • In what way the bumpy race thing can be used, any other ideas?
  • What kind of vehicles can suit this better?

 

In case we go further, I want to discuss the Dirty Racing concept, I think it has a pretty good potential to be developed in something even better. And also the 1-checkpoint GTA lap race, which is also pretty awesome concept.

 

And I am already looking mostly at what kind of stuff I will develop on Xbox One, rather than perfecting new concepts for 360. That's why from that perspective such discussion and development of new concepts can help us beta-test & refine things so we're ready with finalized cool concepts ready to make on Nov 18th ;)

 

@Hash let me know what you think about using this thread for such discussion, the thread is yours, if you say so - we can create a separate one for "development ideas" only, rather than promoting finalized concepts. I just thought that promoting MAIN jobs and developing more based on them or improving them can go together

and i liked the variation with the mixed vehicles. i thought it added to the mayhem and there didnt seem to be an overpowered class. but i was in a bifta... haha

Hm, interesting. I thought it went bad with mixed vehicles of all kinds.. I was in Dubsta, and I was flipping over like muthaf*cka.

 

We might test it today again with Custom Offoroad vehicles ON

I just wrote on the wall on the SC page and realized that we have this thread...

 

I would really like some feedback on this creation. It's my first "non-race" creation. It's an LTS. The story/concept is simple. It's a paintball game and when you die you're out. Kind of like real life paintball.

Maybe there's something exactly like this already out there but since I pretty much never play DM/LTS, I have no idea.

 

So please give me some constructive feedback on the negative parts of my creation. Or the positive things, if you can find something positive. :p

After approximately 50 races created I decided to let my creativity flow and create my first non-race creation. Here's the Malicious Paintball! The map is quite simple. You'll start with a standard pistol and closest to your camp there's some ap-pistols. In the middle of the map there's two SMGs and four Micro-SMGs tactically placed. You will find one sniper rifle in each of the half busses. Use them wisely.

lol, my first LTS is in the exact same location, but the concept is completely different, as it is just a straight up melee hooligan brawl;

i really liked this but there was a bit of confusion going up the steps as the CP pointed left but there was an arrow pointing right

 

to make it clearer try deleting the CP pointing left and add more signs pointing right and leave 1 CP at the door of the top floor and delete the other 2 or 3, i think theres 3 or 4 all together on the top floor

 

also put a sign pointing to the door you have to go through

 

let me know what you think of my suggestions

Hey Choke, thanks for the comments/ideas, unfortunately like always I ran out of props and had to do the best I could with direction. I tested it with several players and purposefully stayed behind to see if they would figure it out and luckily they all did, but the damn cp arrows are confusing and I can't help that. They really should allow the arrows to point in the direction you want and NOT where the next checkpoint is, but doubt they will fix it.

Some of my favorite jobs are in this thread! Here are a couple of new ones I put together.

 

Wingsuit Moto Heist

 

Capture for fans of base jumping (wingsuit flying). Skydive from a Swift into that hole between the buildings, open parachute immediately after entering, and steal a motorcycle. The only way to get in is to skydive. Parachutes and helicopters cannot fit.

Compact Carnage

 

I was able to fit all classes of cars into a hot lap race on the University track. Default is Pantos GTA style but you can choose any class or style of race you want. One lap is 6 track laps. Credit to Greatler and his Olympic Cycling for the idea.

Hey Choke, so I haven't been playing GTA much, but I just logged on and tweaked that Warehouse Trials III, let me know if you think it is still confusing. I think this is a good compromise without having any more props to use and not having to delete any CPs.
