R* should add flares to non-combat planes

Honestly, no way to travel by air unless its by jet because some douche will come along and shoot you down and if R* let players buy the Hydra then there will be no more peaceful flying.

8 out of 10 people use rockets which can be avoided easily and flares won't work for cannons (as stated 32509656 times before)

I've only known flares to be used as markers e.g. sinking boats etc, so never thought of it like that.

Instead of flares (which everyone here is being an asshole about), why not remove green/red lights to white lights so you're not being hostile (no weapons on the plane) but I'm sure people will still shoot you down. The only real solution would be your plane will ghost out so no damage can be done.

I hate flying in something that doesn't have weapons, I feel extremely vulnerable. It really ruins the loneliness of the sky.

So maybe we should get flares as a secondary (with a 20 second cool down between each one launched) replacing either the cannons or rockets?

Well the (A on Xbox) or (X on PS3) buttons are pretty useless on non combat planes anyway so having flares wouldn't hurt anyone, plus they already in the game, NPC jets from Fort Zancudo can use them

Because this is a game not real life - same way people in GTA can carry RPGs, miniguns and other guns up their ass and run around with them - it won't help with the cannons but it would make a difference - especially against buzzars
