ClaudX
Rockstar Games Presents... An ssbawesome Production Grand Theft Auto: Gray Valley is the latest installment in Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto franchise. Grand Theft Auto: Gray Valley is slated for release in Fall 2020. It will be available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Windows. Grand Theft Auto: Gray Valley takes the series to an all new location, never seen before in a Grand Theft Auto game. This new location, Gray Valley, is a region in the Midwest of The United States of America. There are now three new cities to explore, as well as a large countryside and a body of water that is not surrounding the map. The three cities, Speedway, Midway, and Carcer City are based off the cities of Indianapolis, Indiana; Chicago, Illinois; and Detroit, Michigan. The countryside, entitled Surge County, is based off of countryside surrounding the three respective cities. Unlike previous games in the series, Gray Valley is not set on an island. Throughout development, the team at Rockstar Games worked diligently to find the best answer to making a land-locked game, but still keep the open world experience and immersion. The map is large, but it does have boundaries. If you approach a boundary while on land, you will see that there is a mass of close-knit trees, making an impassable wall. They cannot be passed, but if one decides to fly over the boundaries, they will see that the thick mass of trees goes on, keeping the immersion. The trees do have collision and can be landed on with an aircraft and walked around on. The large body of water previously mentioned, Lake Gray, does not have boundaries, similar to past games and it will go on indefinitely. This map is the largest map Rockstar Games has ever done. Speedway Speedway is the first city introduced and is the smallest of the three. Speedway is a quiet little city that seems to never have anything interesting going on, besides the Speedway 500 that happens once every year. It is a fairly safe city, with low gang activity, but crime still runs the streets. The citizens of Speedway know how to protect themselves and many carry knives or even pistols for protection. The underground of Speedway is nasty and filled with two-bit criminals trying to climb up the ranks and make a name for themselves. Anyone who has a name lives in constant struggle of maintaining what they have and fighting off the scum trying to take them over. There aren't many big names in the underground, meaning that the big names don't have to worry too much about competition. However, that doesn't mean they keep their guard down. Midway Midway is the second city introduced and is the largest in the region. The streets are stained with blood of the past and blood still gets spilled today. The city is very segregated, criminally speaking. Street gangs stay in the slimiest areas of the city, while corrupt businessmen and organized crime control better kept areas of the city. Despite that, opposites cross paths frequently, in the hopes of destroying any opposition. The city is kept under a tight leash by organized crime, making it difficult to make a name for yourself. Although being ruthless, the criminals aren't dumb. They keep everything out of sight, making it possible for them to survive so many years. The city is full of secrets just waiting to be spilled. Carcer City Carcer City is the third and final city in the game. Carcer is a completely corrupt and gang-ridden society. Much of the city is abandoned and run by gangs. There is constant gunfire from rival gangs struggling to stay alive and wipe out their rivals. With a crime rate much higher than either of the other cities, every citizen lives in fear. Only the strongest can survive in Carcer. It is a ruthless pit of gang warfare and corruption, and yet people still choose to live there. However, do they choose to live there, or are they trapped there? Surge County Surge County is the countryside surrounding the three major cities in Gray Valley. Many small towns are scattered across the county and farmland and forest are plentiful. Underneath the green exterior, there is crime all across the county. The underground mainly consists of drug dealers and weapons trafficking, but there are still small time empires. The residents of Surge Ct. are quite capable of defending themselves, however the scum of their county costs many of them their livelihood. Many times a week will a truckload of rednecks roll into a town and force businesses to hand over their profits. In Surge County, it's brawn over brains, or is it? More Information on the Setting Coming Soon. Dreams. Everyone has dreams. Kyle James has a dream of leaving his mark on the world. He struggled to find a way to achieve his dream for years. That is, until one day in 2006, when his best friend returned home. From there on, Kyle knew what he wanted and how he wanted to do it. He wanted to do it by any means necessary. He realized that the time for him was now. Gray Valley follows the 24 year-old Kyle James as he faces the challenges of creating a criminal empire in the region of Gray Valley. Raymond Carter had a dream of living a normal life and burying his past far behind him. Raymond was living a normal life, for once, in Midway. He had a successful job, a beautiful wife, and a good home. His criminal past was behind him. He meets briefly Kyle James one night at a pharmacy, but he doesn't forget him. He later befriends Kyle and treats him as his own son. He was happy, but someone began digging up his past and this threatened Raymond and those he loved. Gray Valley also follows the 48 year-old Raymond Carter as he tries to rid himself of the ghosts of his past and live happily once again. At the heart of Gray Valley’s story, it is dark and serious. However, throughout the game, the characters are not serious the entire time, making for some fun times, but there are still depressing moments in the story. The story is structured different from previous games, as cutscenes and missions are made longer so you can observe the characters being natural. The characters act naturally throughout the story and there are a lot of times when you can see the characters simply being themselves. Blue-Protagonist Green-Supporting Character Pink-Minor Character Red-Antagonist Orange-Enemy Kyle James Kyle James is a 24 year-old with a dream to leave his mark on the world. After he dropped out of The University of Gray Valley, he returned to his home city of Speedway and lived with his parents. Shortly after he returned, his parents retired and left for Vice City, telling him that he needs to start providing for himself. He soon then found himself committing small crimes to help him survive. All of this changed when his best friend paid him a visit. Kyle believes that he's seen the worst of Speedway's underground, until he learns what really lies beneath. He toughens up and forges a tough persona, but he quickly learns that being feared is not the way of life that he thought it was. Raymond Carter Raymond Carter is a 48 year-old successful businessman who hopes to bury his past, far into the ground, and make sure it is never dug up. Growing up in Carcer City was difficult, so Raymond took any opportunities he could find to scrape together some cash. At age 25, he joined the Youth Enterprises, a gang in Carcer. He quickly rose through the ranks and gained the respect of the leader. Despite his success, he couldn't bear the life he was living, so he fled to Midway after two years and gave the government information on the gang, which eventually led to their downfall. Afterwards, he went to college with a degree in Business and became a successful businessman in Midway. To forget about his past, he spoiled himself with an expensive lifestyle, which included an expensive penthouse, expensive cars, and the finest suits around. He lived in Los Santos briefly, however he decided that Midway was home. His life is normal, for once, until someone from his past finally finds him. John Burke John Burke is Kyle James’ 24 year-old, brown shaggy haired best friend. They've been friends since middle school and they planned to go to college together. Despite Kyle dropping out, John stayed in college. He returns to his home of Speedway to surprise Kyle with his return from his studies. After seeing the condition that Kyle is living in, he convinces his friend that the time for him to start making his mark is now. John becomes Kyle’s right hand man as they begin building his empire. Elizabeth Allen Elizabeth Allen is a 23 year-old brunette friend of Kyle and John and the sister of Marnie Allen. She went to school with Kyle and John and the three became friends there. She is dragged into Kyle's empire scheme shortly after she returns from college. She always tries to get Kyle to do a more logical approach to situations instead of being violent. Although she berates Kyle for being reckless, she's not afraid to smash a few heads to get a point across. Duncan Streens "Donkey" Duncan Streens is a 31 year-old small time crime lord. He owns one bar around Speedway, an illegal body shop, and a stake in the underground fighter's league. He hires John Burke and Kyle James as security for one of his bars. He received the nickname "Donkey" because he is stubborn and refuses to see any other way besides his. Ricky Ricky, last name unknown, is Duncan’s Neanderthal companion. He tries to be intimidating with his size, but his appearance beyond his size makes nobody take him seriously. His low intelligence makes him an easy target for Kyle’s ridicule, but these offensive jokes simply make Ricky increasingly angry at his opposition. Ricky is suspicious of Kyle and John's true motives, but Duncan doesn't seem to care. Ernest Ernest is a middle aged man working for Duncan at his body shop. He stays in his office all of the time, thus he is never seen. He runs the car theft ring at the body shop and informs Kyle on what cars to bring to the shop. He despises Duncan, but continues to work at the body shop due to his love of cars and motorcycles. He quickly gains a liking for Kyle and the two treat each other with respect. More Information on Characters Will Be Added As the Story Progresses. Gameplay has been improved since previous installments to make the game more realistic, but still fun. None of these changes are too drastic and gameplay is still similar to previous games of the series. -Special abilities have been removed. In order to make the game more realistic, special abilities have been scrapped so the players must rely on skill during difficult sections of the game. -Different armor has been removed. You can simply buy armor and it fills the armor bar the entire way, similar to previous installments. -Animations have been updated to be more realistic. Characters now will seem more natural in their movements. They will use hand movements when talking to correspond to what they're talking about. They will crack their knuckles at random moments or scratch themselves. It is all very natural and makes the pedestrians seem more alive than ever. -Hundreds of new animations and pedestrian behavior scenarios have been added. With new hardware, pedestrians can finally have a daily schedule. You can see them leave for work in the morning and use means of transportation according to their lifestyle. You can see enter work and do their job. You can see office workers working on computers, filing paperwork, faxing papers, reporting to their boss and much more. Pedestrian behavior is now more natural and some will shove you out of the way or ask you to move if you are in the way. Pedestrians have never been more alive. -Vehicle behavior and paths are now more realistic. During lunch hour, you can observe cars rushing for fast food restaurants. You can see people driving away drunk from bars. You can also see crowded highways. All of this has been greatly improved on since previous games. -Vehicle clumping and pedestrian clumping are no longer a problem. With new technology, there are over a thousand different pedestrian models, each with different variations. Don't expect every car on the street to be in perfect condition. You can see cars on the street that have broken headlights or broken windows. Many cars have beater variants as well. -AI has been vastly improved from previous games in the series. Enemies will find strategic ways of getting to you, instead of charging straight at you. They will snap from cover to cover in order to get a better shot. Enemies can run out of ammunition and when they do they may ask their allies for ammunition, they may try to sneak up on you and melee you, or they may simply run away from the fight. -Weapons are much more realistic. They have more realistic recoil among other things, such as more realistic sounds. -Driving has been improved to be more realistic. Despite this, cars will not extremely difficult to drive. They will no longer seem to slide across the road. It doesn't take long for one to master driving in Gray Valley. -Kyle and Raymond control differently. Kyle is faster and can climb over obstacles much easier than Raymond and Raymond is considerably slower than Kyle and it takes him longer to climb over objects. Raymond, however, is stronger than Kyle and can handles cars and weapons better than Kyle. Freerunning One of the new gameplay elements in Gray Valley is freerunning. Freerunning is a skill available exclusively to Kyle James. This element was added not only to make the gameplay difference bigger between Kyle James and Raymond Carter, but to add a new level of exploration around the world. Freerunning is easy to execute, but effective for on-foot gameplay. Unlike other open-world games that feature the same element, Gray Valley parts from the trite use of holding one button to begin parkour. Similar to normal sprinting, freerunning begins when the player taps the “run” button. When near an obstacle, pressing the “jump” button will make Kyle vault or climb over or on top of it. No player is forced to use freerunning outside of certain missions. Normal on-foot actions are still able to be used, but freerunning proves to be an easier method to get around. While Kyle cannot simply run up the sides of large buildings with freerunning, with mastery, he can make it to hard-to-reach areas around the map. This is can be necessary to reach some hidden collectibles. Freerunning speed can be increased by upgrading the Strength statistic. The higher the stat, the faster Kyle can climb over objects and the easier it will be to control Kyle during freerunning. Freerunning duration can be increased by upgrading the Stamina statistic. It is best to try and maximize the Stamina statistic before attempting to freerun up large buildings, as a lack of stamina may ultimately cause Kyle to fall to his doom. This element is devoid from Raymond entirely, making exploration extremely different between the two of them. Dual Wielding Raymond has an ability that is unique to him as well. Due to Raymond’s experience with weaponry, he is able to dual wield certain firearms. Dual wielding is optional, so one may play through the game without ever using it outside of certain missions. When the weapon wheel is open, moving the right stick, or right clicking on a weapon will trigger dual wielding. You select each weapon using the right trigger or right mouse button, and left trigger and left mouse button, respectively. If you do not move the right trigger or select a weapon with the right mouse button, then weapon switching will progress as normal. Raymond can dual wield different one-handed firearms with each other, but he can also dual wield two of the same weapon. Raymond also has the ability to dual wield two-handed weapons. When dual wielding two-handed weapons, weapons that are usually fired on the shoulder must be fired on the hip in order for Raymond to be able to control both firearms. Dual wielding has its advantages, as it improves fire rate due to the use of two weapons. However, this is at the cost of ammunition and reloading time. It takes much longer for Raymond to reload while dual wielding, so this may leave him open during a shootout. Effectiveness while dual wielding two-handed weapons can be increased by improving the Strength statistic. This lessens recoil and improves reload times for two-handed weapons. Heads-Up Display The heads-up display is a combination of GTA IV’s with elements of GTA V’s mixed in. The radar is now rectangular with the armor and health wrapped around it. There is an option in the Options menu to switch it to either GTA IV’s radar or GTA V’s. The weapon wheel returns and is exactly like it was in GTA V. The switch wheel returns, but only with 3 slots this time. Kyle is one the left, Raymond is on the right, and the online character is on the bottom. Stats Stats determine how well your character performs under certain circumstances. Increasing these stats makes the characters better and more rounded. Max Health: The Max Health stat acts similar to the same stat in San Andreas. The more you run, swim, parkour, cycle, and fight raises your maximum health. The health bar will increasingly wrap around the radar when this stat rises. Strength: Strength determines how hard you hit during melee combat, how much damage you can sustain, and how fast you can climb. Strength rises every time you land a melee hit, survive a hit or a fall, or climb over an object or a ladder. Strength also determines your freerunning speed. The higher the stat, the faster you can freerun over objects. Raymond’s dual wielding is affected by strength as well. Strength controls how well Raymond can control his dual wielding of heavier weapons. Stamina: Stamina determines how far you can run, swim, or cycle before having to take a breath. Increase this stat by running, swimming, cycling, or playing a sport, such as basketball or tennis. Stamina affects freerunning as well. More stamina means you can freerun for longer. Stealth: The stealth stat determines how well you are at being undetected. The higher the stealth stat, the less your enemies will be able to hear you and it will be easier for you to hide from them as well. Increase this stat by avoiding enemies while crouching and performing stealth kills. Shooting: Your shooting stat determines how well you can handle firepower. The higher the stat, there will be less recoil and faster reload times. Increase this stat by landing hits on your enemies with guns, performing headshots, and completing gun challenges. Driving: Driving determines how well you can handle cars and motorcycles. The higher the stat, the better handling cars have and the more damage they can sustain. Increase it by driving on the wrong side of the roads, nearly missing collisions, and speeding. Flying: Flying is how well you handle planes and helicopters. By increasing this skill, you can handle aircraft better and turbulence will affect you less. Increase this stat by performing stunts in planes or completing Flight School Challenges. Lung Capacity: Lung Capacity effects how long you can stay underwater. Swimming in murky water increases this stat more than clear water. More Information on Gameplay Coming Soon. ClaudX
There is a wealth of activities to participate in throughout Gray Valley. They have great variety and some are required for %100 completion. 1. Underground Fighter's League: There is one underground fighter's league arena in each city and two in Surge County. Both Kyle and Raymond can compete in the fighter's league. There are three divisions. Singles, doubles, and triples. Singles can only be completed by Kyle or Raymond separately. Doubles can be completed while hanging out with friends. Triples can be completed while hanging out with a friend, as the third member is randomly selected. Each fighter defeated rewards you $1,000. To become the champion of each division, you must beat a selected amount of fighters. In Speedway there are 5, in Midway there are 10, in Carcer City there are 15, and in Surge County there are 5 at each of the two locations. Once you have reached the top of a division in all 5 locations, you continue onto the championship, where you must survive 3 rounds. After completing a championship, you receive $1,000,000 and maximum strength. 2. Shooting Challenges: There are 30 shooting challenges scattered across the map. 3 of these are located in gun shops, while the rest are located in varying locations. They consist of different challenges that must be completed by shooting different targets. They range from simple challenges, like shooting a certain number of glass bottles in a time limit, to more complex challenges like shooting a moving target while parachuting. Completing the 3 gun shop challenges in each city will reward you with cheaper weaponry. Completing all 30 will reward you with fast reload. 3. Vigilante: Vigilante missions can be accessed from a police vehicle. There are multiple situations that can be completed while on the mission. There are 4 different situations to be resolved. The first is Escaping Suspect, where a suspect is escaping, either on foot or in a vehicle, and must be gunned down. The second is Shootout, where a group of criminals is having a shootout with police in an enclosed area and you must eliminate all criminals using more skill than required in Escaping Suspect. The third is Hideout Elimination, where you must eliminate a group of criminals inside their hideout, which is more difficult due to the gun fight being in an interior. The fourth, Hostage Situation, has two different scenarios. The first has a group of criminals holding the hostage in a building, so you must eliminate all of the criminals without hurting the hostage and make sure the hostage gets out safely. The second scenario is where the criminals are transporting the hostage in a vehicle, so you must defeat the criminals while making sure the hostage doesn’t get hurt in any cross fire. Each resolved situation rewards you with $500. You must complete 10 in each city and 20 in Surge County. After completion, police search radius will be decreased and you will receive X2 armor efficiency. 4. Basketball: Basketball can be played alone or with friends. There are 5 basketball challenges in each city that can be completed alone or with a friend. Choosing to do a challenge alone will trigger a 1 v 1 game that ends when one player gets 5 points. Choosing to do a challenge with a friend triggers a 2 v 2 game that ends at 10 points. You can bet up to $1,000 on each game of basketball. Basketball can still be played 1 player or 1 v 1 with a friend. 5. Rampages: 20 Rampages appear throughout the region. Each of them requires you to use a different weapon to defeat a certain amount of a group of enemies. Each rewards you with $2,000. 6. Freaks: Freaks have changed since GTA V. Instead of being random characters to meet, they are escaped psychopaths from an insane asylum in a nearby state. There are 8 total freaks, each one representing a weapon class. Melee, pistol, shotgun, SMG, assault rifle, heavy, sniper rifle, and explosive. They are not marked on the map and must be found by interpreting clues in each of their biographies. They may be hiding in a secluded building in the middle of nowhere, or they may be hiding in plain sight, acting normal. Killing one increases your maximum ammunition (or durability) for their respective weapon group. 7. Yoga: Yoga can be performed in many places throughout the region. Yoga increases maximum health over time. 8. Air Hockey: Air Hockey can be played in many bars and arcades throughout the region. You can bet up to $1,000. Air Hockey can be played with friends. 9. Pool: Pool can be played in many bars throughout the region. You can bet up to $1,000 on a game. Pool can be played with friends. 10. Darts: Darts return from previous game and can be played in bars. You can bet up to $500 on a game of darts. Darts can be played with friends. 11. Dice: Dice can be played on the streets against NPCs. You can bet up to $1,000 on a game of dice. Dice cannot be played with friends. 12. Bowling: Bowling can be played in bowling alleys across the map. Bowling can be played alone or with a friend. 13. Arm Wrestling: You can compete in Arm Wrestling in many bars across the map. You can play it alone, or you can challenge a friend. You can bet up to $500 on a match of arm wrestling. 14. Drinking: Drinking games can be completed in bars and nightclubs across the map. They require you to guide your shot glass from the table to your mouth and the difficulty increases with each drink, as the screen will get more and more wobbly and the controls will fight against you. There are 7 rounds. They can be completed alone or against a friend. If you quit the game, you will black out and spawn somewhere random, but in the surrounding area of the bar. Winning a game will make you completely drunk. You can bet up to $1,000 on a game of drinking. Drinking can still be accessed without competing in the game. Drinking too much will make you black out and spawn in a random area. 15. Dancing: Dancing can be participated in nightclubs or outside parties, such as beach parties. Dancing is similar to how it was in The Ballad of Gay Tony, but now the Left Stick or WASD keys are used. Unlike in San Andreas, they won't appear in a line corresponding to the beat of the music. When a new move is about to preformed, the game will prompt you which way to move the left stick or which WASD key to press. There is still a possibility of Catching the Bus, where you will dance in a group and still do what the game prompts you to. If you dance alone, there is a possibility that a girl may approach you and give you her number. From there on you can get a booty call from them. There is one of these girls at each nightclub. If you dance with a friend, you will always catch the bus; however you cannot be approached by a girl if you dance with a friend. 16. Arcade Games: There are arcade games scattered across the map, whether they be located in bars or arcades themselves. There are multiple arcade games to play, each parodying a genre of video games. The games are: Punch! Punch! Beat! Kill! (beat 'em up games), Super Everything Blaster 3 (shoot 'em up games), Righteous Slaughter (FPS games), Pogo the Monkey (platformers), and Around the Corner (horror games). Each game costs $1 to play and cannot be played with friends. 17. Pinball: Pinball is available in bars, arcades, and bowling alleys across the map. Pinball can only be played alone. 18. Skee-Ball: Skee-Ball can be played in many arcades and bowling alleys. They can be alone or against a friend. You use the right stick to select the position of the ball and the left stick to shoot, or the AD keys to move the ball and the WS keys to shoot it. Skee-Ball costs $1 to play. 19. Karaoke: There are karaoke bars across the map and karaoke can be played from there. There are multiple songs to choose from. To play, you must press the keys that appear on as they pass through a bar. Missing one or more of these will lower your score and will make Kyle or Raymond sing off-key. There is an option to use a microphone and sing, if one is available. 20. House Burglary: Many houses can be burglarized throughout the region. To start the mission, you must get a vehicle and wait until dark. A vehicle’s size determines how many items it can carry. You then enter a house and take as many items as you can and carry them back to the vehicle. You can choose more houses or you can unload what you have at a nearby drop off point. There is one drop off point in each neighborhood. Whatever number of items you dropped off determines your payment. 21. Gray Valley Hitmen’s Association: The Gray Valley Hitmen’s Association missions are missions that never end and can be completed at one’s leisure. To join the association, you must visit one of their secret locations. From there on, they will send you either E-mails or text messages about your targets. Each contract loads a random pedestrian, a random amount of money, a random way to kill your target, and where they are most likely to be found. The targets will not be marked on the map and you can choose when you want to hunt them. If you see them randomly on the street sometime and kill them, the contract will still be fulfilled and you will get a new contract. These missions never end, as there are hundreds of scenarios and pedestrians to be randomly selected. 22. Parachute Challenges: These act just like they did in GTA V. Only this time there is 40 to complete throughout the region. 23. Tennis: Tennis is almost exactly like it was presented in GTA V. However, the controls are more precise and you can set the rules, such as, how long the game will be or how many points to win. Tennis can be played with friends. 24. Golf: There is a complete 18-hole golf game at each golf course in the region. Every golf course is different with different holes, so there is a lot of variety. The larger courses provide Caddys for you to use. Golf can be played with friends. 25. Taxi Driver: There is one taxi company available for purchase in each city. Taxi fares can be completed once the taxi company is purchased in each respective city. The payment received depends on the distance of the location. Occasionally a V.I.P. will need a taxi. These fares have special requirements or have you being attacked by a rival taxi company. When these are completed, a large sum of money is rewarded to you. You need to complete 10 normal fares and 2 V.I.P. fares in each city. After doing so, each respective taxi company will gain x2 profits. 26. Poker: Poker can be played in casinos throughout the region. You can bet up to $1,000,000 on a game of Poker in a casino. Poker may also be played in underground locations across the map. More than money can be bet, though. Weapons and properties may also be bet. This makes it easier to acquire certain weapons before they are unlocked. 27. Internet: You are able to access the internet only from computers now, similar to GTA IV. There are internet cafes across the map. Online dating can be accessed. E-mail can also be accessed. Vehicles, weapons, and properties can be bought. 28. Hunting: Hunting can be accessed from any hunting outpost in a forest. You have a target animal that you need to kill and how many as well. There are many different animals, so there is a lot of variety. You are rewarded money for each target animal killed. You can only use the Hunting Rifle, Pump Action Shotgun, Hunting Knife, or Fists for hunting. You can choose any approach to hunting, whether you want to stay in the outpost and snipe the animal, or if you want to wait in a bush a attack it with a knife. 29. Stunt Jumps: There is 150 Stunt Jumps across the map. Completing all of these gives you resistance to involuntary ejection from vehicles. 30. Street Races: There are 40 different street races; these are triggered by going to their location on the map. Each is different and requires a different vehicle. These warrant $100,000 each race. 31. Strip Clubs: There are multiple strip clubs in the region and all can be bought. Once bought, you receive lap dances for free, and similar to GTA V, if you raise a girl's "like" statistic all the way, they will become a contact for a "booty call". Booty calls come at a price, though. When a booty call girl calls and asks for help and you decline, they will decline you their services, both privately and at the strip club until you accept the favor. 32. Water Games: Water Games are triggered at the beach of Midway. These require you to complete a set of tasks for each water vehicle. There are 4 vehicles that have challenges that can be completed. Once these are completed, you receive maximum lung capacity. 33. Store Robbery: There are many stores that can be held up throughout the map. Fast food places, 24-7s, and barber shops to name a few. There is two ways to approach a robbery. The first way is to aim a weapon at the cashier and they will begin to give you money from the register. Press the action button to speed them up. The second way is much faster and ensures that the cashier won't press the alarm. Simply walk behind the counter and attack the cashier. You can then take the money from the register yourself. However, if there are any customers in the shop or if passerby’s see you robbing a store, they could potentially call the police, resulting in a 2 star wanted level. Equipping a mask or bandana, however, gives the player a 1 star wanted level and the cashier will not recognize you if you return. 34. Movie Stunts: Movie Stunts are a series of sub-missions that can be completed after completing a certain Random Character mission. These activities can only be done by Kyle. Each one is vastly different, ranging from fight scenes, to car chases, to parachuting. There are 15 to be completed. Once all of these are completed, the movie will be available to watch in movie theaters. 35. Private Investigations: Private Investigations are missions only Raymond can complete. There are 10 of these in Midway. Each of these has Raymond both follow a target and photograph them, or it has him breaking into their house and taking photographs of key items. These missions are unlocked after completing a certain Random Character mission. More Information on Activities Coming Soon. Weapons are an essential element of any GTA game. Gray Valley features a wide selection of weapons. There are 8 categories: melee, pistols, shotguns, smgs, assault rifles, heavy weapons, sniper rifles, and explosives. Like GTA V, multiple of each weapon can be carried and weapons are kept in your inventory, even after they run out of ammo. A new feature added is durability. This only applies to melee weapons. Like ammunition, weapons can only be used so many times before they break, this is their durability and it is seen as a bar in place of the ammunition on the HUD. The durability decreases after each hit delivered with a melee weapon. Once the durability is out, the weapon breaks and is removed from the inventory. Similar to Red Dead Redemption, you can perform executions, but executions can only be performed with a melee weapon while in stealth. These kill anyone automatically. Weapon upgrades have been removed, but some weapons have attachments that others don't. Stores There are many places to buy weapons across the region, but the stores and their wares vary. Not every melee weapon can be bought from gun stores. Ammunation Ammunation makes a return, however they do not carry every weapon. In Speedway and Surge County, they carry every weapon group except heavy weapons, assault rifles, and explosives. More weapons will be unlocked as the game progresses, however. In Midway, they only sell pistols, making it ideal to visit a location in Surge County or Speedway instead. Ammunation is absent all together in Carcer City. Illegal Gun Shops Illegal Gun Shops make a return from GTA IV. In Speedway, they carry all weapons available in Ammunation, as well as assault rifles and explosives. In Midway, they carry all of the weapons, excluding heavy weapons, but for a much higher price than in Speedway. In Carcer City, they carry all weapons, except assault rifles and the prices are higher than any other location. Their prices are lower than Ammunation, but they are not marked on the map to begin with. Once they are discovered, they are marked on the map. Army Surplus Army Surplus is the only location where heavy weapons are available to purchase. Army Surplus can only be unlocked after completing a set of missions for the owner. They carry all firearms and have locations across the map. The weapons are the cheapest at Army Surplus, but it cannot be unlocked until later in the story. Melee Fists: Your fists are your default weapon and represent your unarmed state. Despite that, they are still very dangerous. Melee combat has been improved since GTA V and features some elements from previous games. You use the attack button to hit your opponent. As an enemy attacks press the jump button to dodge their attack. Once an enemies’ health is low, you can press the run button to grab them. From there on you can punch them with the attack button, kill them by breaking their neck or strangling them with the jump button, or you can let them you by pressing the run button again. Although fists are one of the weakest weapons in the game, you can improve their attack power by increasing the strength stat. You can also visit gyms to learn more combat moves, like round house kicking. Fist fights have been improved to be more realistic, as what you can do to the enemy; they can do to you, like dodge. Animations have been improved to give the illusion of the attacks having weight to them. Brass Knuckles: Brass knuckles act the same as fists; however they deal more damage and have more knockback. Similar to San Andreas, if you hit somebody’s vehicle, they may get out and approach you with a baseball bat. ClaudX
Random Characters return from GTA IV. Some of these characters may be minor characters seen in cutscenes, they may be completely random characters that ask for the protagonists’ help, or they may be old friends or enemies from the protagonists’ past. Some Random Characters are unlocked after certain missions and marked on the radar, while some are unlocked from the beginning, but must be found due to not being marked on the radar. Some Random Characters are unlocked only if you spare them during a mission. Certain Random Characters can only be triggered by a certain protagonist. Some random characters will become a part of Kyle’s empire if you choose to let them. Speedway Bryant Moreno-Kyle James Bryant Moreno is a Hispanic classmate of Kyle’s who also ran hurdles alongside him. Bryant has a personal vendetta against Kyle due to him never beating his adversary. Bryant wishes to run once more against Kyle to “prove himself the better”, which is why he has been training ever since they graduated. He will stop at nothing to beat his opponent. Richard Will-Kyle James Richard Will is another classmate of Kyle’s who participated alongside Kyle in theatre. Although Richard was the best and he knew it, he wanted Kyle to get more involved in theatre, which to his dismay, Kyle never did. Richard went on to pursue a life of theatre, which has proven unsuccessful due to the theatre owing debt to multiple collectors. Charles Courtwright-Either Protagonist Charles Courtwright is a retired old man who became a busker after retirement so he could play his melodies to anyone who walked by. Lately, he’s been getting a rough time from a small garage band that dislikes his music. Despite them, Charles continues to play, but the garage band has started to get more aggressive towards him. Sophia West-Either Protagonist Sophia West is a young woman who fears that she’s being stalked. The stalker now follows her wherever she goes, but she can’t do anything about it. Despite him knowing everything about her, she knows nothing about him, so the police won’t do anything about it. She needs to find someone who will make the stalker go away. Darlena Waters-Raymond Carter Darlena Waters is a 50-something African-American woman and an old friend of Kathleen Carter. She’s always been a dangerous person, with no regard of how her actions affect those around her. After drifting around for a while, she’s ended up in Speedway, but who knows how long she’ll last there. She’s deep in trouble, but she’s hoping to pull herself out with a little help from an old friend. Justin Owen-Either Protagonist Justin Owen is a 30 year-old man living in an abandoned building on the outskirts of the Speedway who believes that the world is in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. Being as paranoid as he is, he thinks that anyone who passes by is a zombie, thus shooting them. Justin is looking for another “survivor” to go and fetch supplies and documents for him since he doesn’t want to emerge from his self-proclaimed “stronghold”. Francis and Elise Christensen-Kyle James Francis and Elise Christensen are siblings who come from Surge County and have never experienced anything in the city. They want to see the sights of Speedway and experience things they never could in the country. Unsure of anything in the city, they are hoping to find someone who can show them around. Peter Reynolds-Raymond Carter 40-something Peter Reynolds has gotten tired of his boring, redundant life. He works in an average office job and has a loving wife at home. Because of this, he feels like all of the excitement has been “sucked” out of his life. He wishes to find a way out this pit of boredom, but he needs that could show him how to really “live life”. Tyla
Damn dude. You delivered. Story sounds good. Marnie Allen's sister? That's kinda neat. I remember she sent Niko that email stating she was back in the Midwest... nice continuity. More than a few things caught my eye: None of these changes are too drastic and gameplay is still similar to previous games of the series. You sell yourself short. The changes with AI alone would drastically change the experience. We'd have to actually put thought into what we're doing for one thing! Behaviour and traffic patterns especially... can you imagine planning a heist around when the streets will be most packed with civilians and when the streets are likely to be clogged? Pedestrians have never been more alive. And with all those weapons they'll never be more dead than when I get my hands on them. I like this. The Godfather game had something similar. It always kept you on your toes regards to switching up your melees. An in-depth underground fight feature sounds great, especially doing doubles with pals. Beats drinking. 6. Freaks: Freaks have changed since GTA V. Instead of being random characters to meet, they are escaped psychopaths from an insane asylum in a neighboring state. I've got a feeling Obsydian will love this. Endless fun for those of us who like to stalk prey. My only gripe is that the player has to find them. It would be much better if they approached you after a certain point... much more realistic. 26. Poker: More than money can be bet, though. Weapons and properties may also be bet. This makes it easier to acquire certain weapons before they are unlocked. Awesome. Imagine betting properties you spent ages trying to acquire and losing them. Kinda rectifies how fast you were able to build wealth with the casino/bookie in San Andreas. 35. Private Investigations: Private Investigations are missions only Raymond can complete. There are 10 of these in Midway. Each of these has Raymond both follow a target and photograph them, or it has him breaking into their house and taking photographs of key items. These missions are unlocked after completing a certain Random Character mission. Nice idea. With that advanced AI system you've got, there's all kind of situation those ten marks could be in and Raymond digs up. About the only criticism I got over this are the vehicles. You've bought back some favourites but haven't come up with any yourself. I'd like to see what you'd introduce into traffic. Yeah, that's about all I can say against this... and that's scraping the barrel. And the purple text for your minor characters - impossible to read. Might be worth changing before you add any. Great read!

It would be much better if they approached you after a certain point... much more realistic. Your suggestion reminds me of the Dark Brotherhood from the Elder Scrolls games. I'll be making changes to some things every now and then, so what you see isn't always final. About the only criticism I got over this are the vehicles. The vehicles section is probably my most incomplete section. It was really rushed, to be honest. I'll be changing it in the future. Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you liked it! This is awesome! Keep up the good work. When can we expect a map? Thanks for the feedback! Once I make significant progress on the map, I'll upload it and edit it once more progress is made. When? Maybe in a week or two depending on how much time I have in between school.

Racecarlock
I don't like weapon durability much, but I can deal. The thing that won me over was weirdly enough the arcade games. Los Santos in GTA V has so many arcade games littered everywhere but you can't play them. Why even have the models in there then?
Naughtius Maximus
Wow! Promising amount of writing there. The story seems legit, more legit than GTA V. As far as I understood Kyle and Raymond's ways will be crossed after a considerably long time... that's what I was thinking for GTA V, but somehow Michael and Franklin have their first encounter during the third mission. By the way... 6. Freaks:Freaks have changed since GTA V. Instead of being random characters to meet, they are escaped psychopaths from an insane asylum in a neighboring state. Quietly reminded me those SPANK'ed suicidal motherf*ckers from GTA III. Them creepy trippin' psychos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6b4jkiFggi4 Blue, ClaudX and Ivan1997GTA

Tyla
Yeah, there's something quite charming about Private Investigations. Maybe I'm reading into it too much already, but it seems like the kind of side mission where Raymond is putting off dealing with his own ghosts by investigating the demons of others. Maybe he'll be like Michael, and get wrapped up in the sudden buzz from living his old life again for a moment.
Severe
Lotta cool stuff, especially in the side-activity department, with freaks and stunts and stuff. That being said, maybe consider trimming it a bit? Some don't really 'vibe' with the setting or characters, if you know what I mean? Like yoga, I mean, it makes sense in V, because it's LA, and that is one of those things fit in with the west-coast feel, but doesn't fit in so well with the midwest, I feel. I dunno, a thought. Also, not entirely sure why you need to call it an 'advanced MG', when it's the only machinegun, but eh.

ClaudX
Mission 1: An Old Friend Boss: Kyle James Protagonist: Kyle James [Opening credits begin as different views of the city are shown] News Anchor: It's that time of year again, folks. Schools are closing their doors for the summer that lies ahead of them. It's a lovely day today here in Speedway at 69 degrees farenheit. Don't be afraid to stay up late tonight, as crime in Speedway has dropped considerably over the last four years. The streets of Speedway are the safest they've ever been. Isn't that right, officer? Police Officer: Yes, it is. Here at the Speedway Police Department, we've been working hard on cracking down on criminals on the streets and tearing down empires that have been established. Speedway has a bright future thanks to us. News Anchor: Thank you, officer. I know I'll be sleeping peacefully tonight. [Opening credits end and the camera begins to follow Kyle James as he walks down a street and approaches a large, white house with a lush green lawn covered in lawn ornaments of all sizes and a white picket fence.] *Kyle knocks on the door* Voice: Come inside! *Kyle enters the house and sees a tall man with shaggy brown hair, about the the same age as he* Kyle: John, man! John: Kyle! *The two hug briefly* John: Man, Kyle, it's been a while since I've seen you. We're you been? Kyle: I've just been here, you know. How's college been? John: Oh, good, good. It's been a lot of fun. Too bad you dropped out. Kyle: Well, I had other plans, you know. John: Well, come on. It's a nice day. Let's walk and talk. *The two leave the house* Objective: Walk to the park. John: So, what've you been doing all these years? Kyle: Just a bunch of different stuff. Whatever helps pay the bills. John: So you're a male stripper? *chuckle* Kyle: *chuckle* No, man. So why'd you come back? John: It's summer, man! I felt like I should cut my best friend a break and spend some time with him for once. Kyle: Yeah. It's only been 5 years. John: You know I've got other things to worry about, but this summer, it's just me and my bro. *They arrive to the park* John: You up for a game of basketball? Kyle: Sure, dude. How about, if I win, you have to buy two hot dogs from that hot dog stand over there? John: Fine. It's for your own good 'cause you'll be exhausted after this! [To play basketball use the movement keys to move around. Use the run button to shoot. Release it at the tip of your shot for better accuracy. To protect the ball, press the cover button. When the opponent has the ball, use the attack button to hit the ball out of their hands. Use the cover button to block them. Press the jump button to get the ball when it is in the air.] Objective: Play a game of basketball to 5 points. [if you win, John pays for the hot dogs. If you lose, you must pay $2 for the hot dogs.] *They walk to the hot dog stand* Kyle: *breathing heavily* Whew, that was a good game. John: Yeah, man. It looks like someone's out of shape. Kyle: Whatever. *They begin to walk away from the hot dog stand, when a thug approaches the stand* Thug: *pulls out a switchblade* Come on, man! Give me the money! *Kyle turns around and approaches the thug* Kyle: Hey! What's going on? Thug: This ain't none of your business! Get outta' here! John: Kyle, what are you getting into?! Kyle: Now you've pissed me off, sh*thead! Thug: Come at me! *he swipes his blade at Kyle* Objective: Defeat the thug. [When in melee combat, lock onto the target with the aim button and press the attack button to attack. When they are about to attack, press the jump button to dodge their attack. After dodging, press the attack button to counter and disarm them if they have a weapon.] *Kyle picks the thug's wallet off of his body and hands it to the hot dog vendor* Kyle: Here you go, man. Hot Dog Vendor: Thank you so much, sir! Kyle: We should all get out of here befor ethe cops show. Objective: Walk back to John's house. John: What was that all about back there? Kyle: That thug was stealing the hot dog guy's hard earned money! John: You could've got hurt or worse, killed! Kyle: Oh come on! He was defenseless! And plus, I can handle myself. I've been in similar situations. John: Kyle, what do you mean? Kyle: I'm-uh-kinda in a similar line of work. John: What are you talking about? Oh, no. You're not- Kyle: Yeah, yeah. I'm a criminal. Hey! I gotta make money somehow! John: There are other things you could! You-you could work at Burger Shot or- Kyle: Burger Shot? I don't want to lower myself that low! John: It's just-Kyle, you used to be a good kid. You were the best hurdler we had at school. You made good grades. Why'd you throw it all away? Kyle: But everyone expected everything from me! Become a doctor! Become a lawyer! I don't want to do that! I want to leave my mark on the world! John: You can leave your mark on the world by becoming a lawyer or a doctor! Kyle: It's not the same. I want to be compared to. I want people around the world to know my name! I want children to read about me in the history books! John: Whatever, man. *They arrive at John's house* John: Say, you still living with your parents? Kyle: Not anymore. They kicked me out of the house and sold it. They moved down to Vice City. John: Come on. Show me where you live. Kyle: If you insist. John: We can take my car, but you're driving. Objective: Drive to Kyle's house. John: Look. I'm sorry about earlier. Kyle: Forget about it. It happens. John: So, you rob people for a living? Kyle: Don't make it sound so demeaning. Yeah, I do. John: And you're okay with that? Kyle: Well, I have to. If I want to leave my mark on the world I have to start somewhere. John: I guess there's no changing your mind. Kyle: You got that right. *They arrive at Kyle's apartment and exit the car* John: So, where is it? Kyle: Oh, it's just over the wall. *They go through a door-sized opening in the giant metal wall that was twice as big as they are. There is a small, gray warehouse with a red metal staircase on the side, leading to a metal door. There are a few large, stained windows around the side.* John: This...is home? Kyle: Yup. It was really cheap too. John: You think there was a reason it was cheap? Kyle: Oh, yeah. Apparently back in the 80's some gang used to put rival gang members in here, line them up, and kill them all. John: Ugh. Kyle: It's not so bad. Let's go in. *They enter the warehouse to see a bed to their right and a kitchen to the left.* Kyle: Hey, it's simple, but it works. Plus, I have lot of free space. John: I don't like you living like this, although this place would make a great man cave. Still, if you want to do what you want to do, then you have to start getting serious about it. Kyle: I am serious about it! John: You can't take people pocket change for a living, Kyle. I'm going to help you. As I said, this summer's all about my bro.*yawns* I'm tired, man. It was a long drive from the University. I'm going home and taking a long nap, so I'll see you tomorrow. Kyle: Alright, man.*they bro-hug each other* See you tomorrow. *John exits the building* Mission Passed Rewards: Free Roam Mission 2: "Getting Serious" White T-Shirt “Speedway Speedway” T-Shirt Red Dress Shirt Blue Dress Shirt Navy Blue Hoody White and Blue Striped Long Sleeve Shirt Black Baggy Jeans Blue Baggy Jeans Blue Skinny Jeans Black Skinny Jeans Black Track Shorts Black Sweatpants White Sneakers Cheap Gray Dress Pants [...]

ClaudX
Mission 2: Getting Serious Boss: Kyle James Protagonist: Kyle James [As the mission starts, the camera zooms out to show the safehouse and time lapses to morning. The camera transitions to inside the safehouse to show Kyle standing by his refrigerator, eating a cup of strawberry yogurt. The door creaks open and John approaches Kyle.] Kyle: Hey, man. John: Hey. Kyle: You want a frozen burrito or something? I mean, it’s no trouble if you want something. John: No thanks. I already ate breakfast. *Kyle tosses his cup of yogurt into a nearby trashcan.* Kyle: Alright, whatever. It’s your loss. Frozen burritos are the best. Those burritos sold out of the back of a truck don’t have anything on these. John: *chuckle* If you say so. Kyle: So what brings you around here? John: Hey, like I said, this summer is all about me and my boy. Is there something wrong if I come to hang out with you? Kyle: Whatever. So, what do you want to do? You want to hit up a nightclub or something? John: Nightclubs? It’s only 9 A.M.! Kyle: Does it matter? Half the people in there won’t even know what day it is, let alone what time. John: You do have a point. Anyway, I’m really here to start where we left off yesterday. Kyle: Where’d we leave off yesterday? Oh, yeah. John: Yeah. Anyway, I’ve been thinking and I realized that before we, I mean you, are able to build this empire of yours, you’re going to need to gather some cash. Kyle: I’ve got cash. John: No, I mean we need more than enough to buy one Bleeder meal every night. I mean, we’re going to have to set up the business, pay employees, file- Kyle: Okay, okay, I get it. I’m going to have to start bringing the bread home. What do you have in mind? John: You’re on the internet, right? Kyle: Yeah, there’s an internet café not too far from here. John: Great. You’re going to need to look for some business for hire. Delivery companies, taxi firms, so on and so forth. Not only will you be getting easy money, but we’ll be able to know what businesses are going to be a worthwhile investment once we get the ball rolling. Kyle: Alright, sounds good. I’ve been meaning to change the pace for a while now. John: While you do that, I’ll be hitting up my connections to see who the players are in town and what they’re in to. *They both head towards the door to part their ways.* Kyle: I’ll call you up once I’ve gotten things settled. John: Alright, but if I don’t reply, don’t be surprised. Kyle: Soon enough we’re going to be busy all the time. John: How’s it feel to finally be getting serious? Kyle: It’s, well, different. *chuckle* Objective: Go to the Internet Café. Objective: Get on a computer and find a company that’s hiring. Kyle: Alright, let’s see. A small trucking company is looking for employees. Perfect. Hmm. Let me see. They want me to e-mail them and bring my resume to them physically. Simple enough. Objective: E-mail the company. E-mail: Hello, my name is Kyle James. I am 24 years of age and saw your ad online. I am interested in working for you. I will be bringing my resume to you later today. Thank you. Objective: Go to the Trucking Company. *As Kyle approaches the trucking company, he that it is in major decline. The building’s roof is falling in, the windows are busted, and the trucks themselves are in shambles, leaving a mystery to how they are still running. Kyle approaches a nearby worker.* Kyle: Hey, where’s your boss? *The worker points to a large, bearded man who is talking to two other men.* Kyle: Thanks a lot. *Kyle begins walking the way of the boss, when the boss begins walking towards Kyle.* Boss: You must be Kyle James. Kyle: Yeah, I’m me. Boss: Great. Do you have your, uh, resume? Kyle: Oh yeah, it’s right here. *Kyle pulls his printed resume out of his pocket and hands it to the boss.* Boss: Great, great. I’ll look this over later. In the mean time, I need you to take that truck over there and deliver it to a warehouse in Cedar Valley. Got it? Kyle: I got it, don’t worry. Boss: Yeah, thanks for coming. We’ve been short drivers lately. Kyle: I see that. Anyway, I got a shipment to haul. Objective: Deliver the truck to the warehouse in Cedar Valley. Kyle: *sighs* The things I do for money. *Kyle approaches the warehouse gate and it opens for him.* Objective: Drive the truck into the warehouse. *Kyle pulls the truck into the warehouse and exits the vehicle. Workers begin to unload the boxes in the back. Kyle sits down on a crate right outside the warehouse and pulls out his cell phone.* Kyle: It’s me. John: You’re calling me. That means that you got a job or you just got pulled over, which is it? Kyle: You’re in luck. It’s not the latter. Anyway, I found myself a job for a small trucking company. It’s seems like most of their clientele is in Speedway, so that’s a plus. John: So is it good pay? Kyle: I didn’t really have time to talk to the boss about payment. I mean, when I got there he shoved me into a truck and told me to go. John: So what are you thinking? Would it be a good investment? Kyle: If we do purchase it, we’re going to need to throw a lot of money into repairs. The company is in shambles. However, after all that, the company could begin to bring in a pretty penny. John: But it still wouldn’t be enough. Kyle: Why do you say that? What, you don’t believe in me? John: It’s not that. Okay, it’s partially that. The reason I said that is because I’ve been digging around and these guys don’t consider themselves small. They’ve got multiple businesses across town: bars, strip clubs, underground businesses, etcetera, etcetera. They have so many businesses because they need to pay for ammunition and bribes and anything else of that nature. Kyle: Ammunition? Guns over at Ammunation aren’t that expensive. John: Sure, a few thugs with pistols might be enough protection for a bar, but think about the bigger businesses like smuggling. Kyle: Now I’m seeing how all of this falls into place. But where are they getting these big, bad guns? John: What I’ve heard is that there are various underground gun shops across the city that sell more heavy-duty firepower than Ammunation does. I mean, we’re talking assault rifles. Kyle: I’d like to get my hands on some of those weapons. So what you’re saying is that we’re going to need multiple real estate investments around town. John: Yeah. And gaining these businesses, repairing them, and then finally waiting for the profit to start rolling could take some time. *Kyle looks over to see the workers unloading the last of the boxes from the truck.* Kyle: Well, I gotta’ go, so I’ll catch up with you later. Objective: Drive the truck back to the Trucking Company. *Kyle pulls out his cell phone and dials the trucking company’s number.* Kyle: It’s Kyle James. I just got done with the shipment and I’m heading back right now. Boss: Good to hear. And by the way, I just looked over your resume and I’m happy to tell you that you’re hired. Kyle: Great. I’m not that surprised, though. Boss: Yeah, we couldn’t really turn you down. Kyle: I noticed. Anyway, do you want me to come by tomorrow? Boss: I’ll just call you when I need a shipment hauled. I’ve always got stuff that needs hauling. Kyle: Sounds like a plan. *Kyle approaches the lot of the company and exits the truck. The boss approaches him.* Boss: Hey, good work today. Kyle: No problem, I mean, it is my job now. Boss: Yeah, anyway, I’ll call you when I need something hauled. Kyle: Oh, hey, before I go, I have a quick question. Boss: What is it? Kyle: Who owns this company? Boss: Right now no one does. We’re trying to hold up on our own. Kyle: Right, right. I hear you. Anyway, I’ll see you. ClaudX
Far as the stats go, I don't notice anything different from GTAV? The stats themselves are perfect for GV, but think how differently they work since the actual mechanics that they affect have changed. Guns have more realistic recoil and reload times, whereas V's recoil was barely noticeable. Since the cars handle differently than V, the driving stat helps out more when driving. It's mostly about the mechanics themselves, and not the stats.
ClaudX
Mission 3: Tequila! Boss: John Burke Protagonist: Kyle James [There is a phone call from John before the mission is unlocked.] John: Kyle! I got some great news for you, buddy. Swing by my parent's house as soon as you can! Kyle: Wait! John! What's going on? *John hangs up.* Great. [As Kyle walks up the steps to John's parents' house, John abruptly bursts through the door and nudges against Kyle as he makes his way towards his Gray Annis Pinnacle.] John: Come on, Kyle. Let's go! Kyle: Wait, wait, wait! Where are we going?! John: Tequila! Kyle: *Making his way towards the passenger seat of John's car.* You never make any sense. *As he sits down, John begins driving north.* Ok, now are you going to tell me where we're going? John: Remember how I told you I was going to find a way for you to get on the inside? Kyle: Yeah... John: Well, I did. And you can thank me right now. Kyle: I'll thank you after I see what you've got lined up for me. John: Anyways, I found this bar that is hiring. However, they aren't looking for any bartenders or waiters. Apparently, the boss of the place is looking for some people to help "behind the scenes", if you know what I mean. Kyle: So who is this "boss" that you speak of? John: His name is Duncan Streens. My contact tells me that he's a small time crime lord in the city. He's into protection and car theft, but my contact has heard that he might be a part of some underground fight club or something. Kyle: He sounds like a busy man. Hmm. For being "small time" he sounds like he's pretty active in the city. So, I'm guessing that his bar is his base of operations? John: From the looks of it, yeah. He doesn't have any other "legal" businesses in the city, if you catch my drift. *He pulls up to a small bar with a neon sign flashing, “Tequila!”* Kyle: This it? John: Yep.*He begins to exit the car.* Let’s go. *Kyle exits the car and the two begin to walk into the bar.* Just act natural. Kyle: Whatever you say. John: *As they enter, they see a bartender wiping off the counter. John approaches him.* Excuse me. Where is the boss’ office? *The bartender points to a faded orange door at the back of the bar.* Thanks a lot. *They enter the office to see a man reclined in a chair with his feet propped up on the desk. He has a shaven head and is wearing a navy blue long sleeve shirt. Another man, who appears to be the same age as the other, is sitting in a chair across from the desk. He has curly black hair and is sporting a black hoodie. He quickly stands up and confronts Kyle and John.* John: Hey, hey, buddy! Take it easy! We’re here for the job opening. Man Behind Desk: Ricky, take a seat. *The other man sits back down.* Anyway, I’m Duncan Streens, the owner of this establishment. You must be Kyle James. Kyle: Yeah, that’s me. Duncan: Then who’s this guy? Kyle: Oh, this is John Burke. He’s basically my agent of sorts. Duncan: I see. Well, this is Ricky, my right hand man. Sorry about that earlier. We’ve all been on our toes lately. Some young punks think they’re tough and keep trying to run us out of here. Business has been slow because of them, and that’s where you two come into place. John: Wait. I didn’t sign up for this. Kyle did! Duncan: Hey, since you came, you’re signed up as well. What happens in this office stays in this office. John: But- Duncan: No buts. Now, as I was saying, these punks have been trying to run us out so they can take over, but since I’ve got you guys now, we’re going to strike back. Kyle: Alright. When do we start? SMASH! *Glass shattering can be heard as everyone in the office springs up from their seats.* Kyle: What the- Duncan: *He grabs four baseball bats that are lying against the wall and hands one to John and Kyle each.* Duncan: You start now. Come on. *They exit the office to find multiple windows smashed and five young men, all dressed similarly in baggy jeans, tank tops, and hoodies.* Young Punk: Yo! Old dudes! Get your fatasses out of there! This is our bar now! Duncan: *He walks out of the bar, followed by the three other men.* Oh, is it? Cause last I knew, it was mine. What are you gonna’ do? Throw some rocks through my windows? I came prepared this time! Come on, let’s get ‘em! Objective: Defeat the young punks. Duncan: Yeah! Run away! We’ve got plenty more to serve! Yeah. That’ll show them. Kyle: You think they’ll come back? Duncan: There’s no telling with these young ones. I mean, you should know better than me. You’re around their age, aren’t you? Kyle: Yeah. Say, if you have all this influence around town, then why are some low-key punks trying to fight you? Duncan: Hey, how do know what I do around town? Kyle: I’ve been in the game long enough to know who the players in town are. Duncan: Hmm. Smart kid. It’s hard getting help like yours. Most of the criminals in this town are half-assed crack heads whose help is useless. Thanks for the help you two. You want a drink? John: Yeah, sure. Duncan: Alright, come on in. *They enter the bar and it time lapses to two hours later. John and Kyle exit the bar drunk.* Objective: Drive back to John’s parents’ house. Kyle: *drunk* That was something, wasn’t it? John: *drunk* I don’t know, man, but I need to get home. I haven’t been this wasted since we held that party senior year. Kyle: Oh, yeah. I remember that. Am I the only one who remembers seeing those bears? John: This is Speedway, we don’t have bears. Kyle: No, man! I swear I saw some bears in your kitchen! John: You were just too drunk, man. Kyle: Whatever, man. John: That night I had a dream that I was flying in a hot air balloon. But, I was naked. Kyle: What a wild dream, man. John: The weirdest part was that it turned out to be reality. Kyle: Really? John: Yeah. Sometimes when you drink too much, you end up in weird places. I learned that the hard way. Kyle: I’ll remember that. *They arrive at John’s parents’ house.* John: Thanks for the ride, bro. Kyle: Thanks for the job opportunity. John: Whatever. I was hoping that I wouldn’t have to get my hands dirty. Kyle: There’s still something that doesn’t add up. John: What’s that? Kyle: If the bar is his base of operations, then shouldn’t he have more protection? John: I don’t know. I’m too drunk to think. See you, man. Kyle: Yeah, see you too. ClaudX
Mission 4: Friends Reunited Boss: Elizabeth Allen Protagonist: Kyle James [There is a phone call from Elizabeth Allen before the mission is unlocked.] Kyle: *phone rings* Hello? Elizabeth: So you can make time to hang out with John, but not me? I see how it is. Kyle: Elizabeth! Hey! How have you been? Elizabeth: Good, good. I would say that you should know how college life is, but you don’t. Kyle: Man, you guys love giving me a hard time, don’t you? Elizabeth: *chuckles* Hey, a good laugh is needed now and then. You know we love you. Kyle: Hmm. I don’t know. I’m not really seeing it. *chuckles* Elizabeth: Anyway, I’m back in town and I was wondering if you wanted to get something to eat and catch up. Kyle: Yeah, that’d be nice. I’ll have to find a time when John isn’t bothering me about work. *chuckles* Elizabeth: So that’s what John’s up to, huh? Well, you’ll have to tell me all about it. I have to go now, but do you want to meet at Burger Shot or something? Kyle: What about that one café by the convention center? Elizabeth: Oh yeah, I remember that café! Well, it’s a plan. See you there. Kyle: You too. [As Kyle walks towards the café, he passes multiple tables with customers enjoying their meals. A familiar voice rings out from one of the tables. Kyle turns towards the voice to see Elizabeth waving at him. Kyle approaches her and she stands up. They hug each other and then sit down.] Kyle: Hey, Elizabeth. Good to see you. Elizabeth: You too, Kyle. How have you been? Kyle: Pretty much the same. Nothing too interesting has happened since high school. Elizabeth: Really? The way that John’s been talking tells a different story. Kyle: Yeah, but you know John: always full of sh*t. Elizabeth: Heh, yeah. Classic John. Oh! My bad. Did you want something to eat? Kyle: *points at her drink* What’re you drinking? Elizabeth: Black coffee. Kyle: Yeah, sure. I’ll take some. Elizabeth: *gesturing to a waiter* Hey! Waiter! Over here, please! *waiter arrives* My friend would like one small, black coffee. *waiter leaves* Kyle: Well, how’s college life? Elizabeth: It’s fun and all, but I miss this place sometimes. The campus gets pretty boring after a while. Kyle: I guess this city has some kind of “magic” to it. I’d really like to visit Midway and Carcer City sometime soon, though. Elizabeth: Why don’t you, then? Kyle: I don’t really have the time to right now. Elizabeth: I thought you weren’t doing anything right now. *chuckles* Kyle: John has been keeping me busy ever since he came back. Elizabeth: You mentioned that on the phone. What’s John up to? Kyle: Well, he’s been my “manager” of sorts. He’s finding me jobs to help me out now. Elizabeth: What kind of jobs has he got you into? Kyle: Uh…how do I say this? It’s a “real estate protection” job. Elizabeth: I see. Not really, but hey, that’s cool. Are you still living with your parents? Kyle: Why do people keep asking me that? Elizabeth: Geez. I just want to know. *chuckles* Kyle: It’s okay. My parents kicked me out of the house and went down to Vice City. I had to find a place of my own. I mean, it’s not much, but I don’t spend a lot of time at home anyway. Elizabeth: So, uh, what do you want to do now? Kyle: Well, I would say that we should swing by a strip club, but I have a feeling you wouldn’t like that too much. *laughs* Elizabeth: *laughs and soft-punches Kyle* Come on, now. Why don’t we go bowling? Kyle: Well, these aren’t exactly my bowling shoes, but sure. Elizabeth: All right, then. Let’s go. We can take my car. Objective: Get in Elizabeth’s car and drive to the bowling alley. Kyle: You get ready to get beat? Elizabeth: You should savor this moment because once you lose to me you’ll be ashamed. Kyle: You and John, always talking smack. Why do I have to drive anyways? It’s your car. Elizabeth: I need my focus. Kyle: Focus? Okay then, Miss Excuses. Perhaps it’s better that I’m driving. If you were driving we would probably end up in the river. Elizabeth: *soft-slaps Kyle’s arm* Hey, now. No one likes a sexist. *They arrive at the bowling alley.* Kyle: Hey! I never got my coffee! Objective: Play Elizabeth in a game of bowling. Objective: Get in Elizabeth’s car. Elizabeth: You weren’t too bad. Kyle: You weren’t either. Elizabeth: So, is that it for today? Kyle: Depends. Do you want to do anything else? Elizabeth: We’ll see. *As they approach the car, a mugger runs up and steals Elizabeth’s purse.* Elizabeth: My purse! Oh no, my credit cards and my ID and my- Kyle: You stay here. I got this bastard. Elizabeth: Kyle, no! Objective: Chase down the mugger. *Kyle chases the criminal on foot until they reach a busy intersection. The mugger pauses and tries to find a way through the cars. He finds an opening in the wave of cars and runs forward. As he runs down the street, sirens can be heard nearby. The mugger looks back at Kyle, who is still chasing him. As the mugger turns his head forwards again, he sees an ambulance in front of him, sirens blaring and speeding towards him. Kyle makes a disgruntled expression as the sound of the mugger meeting his inevitable fate is heard. Kyle picks up Elizabeth’s purse and heads back to her.* Kyle: Oh, the undeniable irony of ambulances. Objective: Return to Elizabeth. *Kyle approaches Elizabeth and hands her purse back to her. She takes it and starts hitting him with it.* Kyle: *trying to stop her* Hey! What’s this for! Elizabeth: *she stops hitting him* You idiot! You could’ve gotten killed! Kyle: I swear. You and John are the same person. Elizabeth: I can get more money, but I can’t get your life back! What if you were the one in front of that ambulance?! Kyle: That would’ve ruined my day. Elizabeth: Do think this is funny? Kyle: Just relax. I should be used to this by now. Elizabeth: What do you mean, Kyle? Kyle: *under his breath* Jesus, can anyone take a hint? *gesturing to Elizabeth* I’ll explain to you on the way. Objective: Drive Elizabeth to her home. Elizabeth: Talk to me. I’m all ears. Kyle: Alright, try to be cool with this. Elizabeth: Okay. Tell me. Kyle: Earlier when I told you that I was a “real estate protector” or some sh*t, I wasn’t exactly telling you the entire story. Elizabeth: Go on. Kyle: Well, I really meant to say that, uh. I’m actually a criminal on his way to the top by building an empire. No big deal really. Elizabeth: No big deal? Let me guess, when you’re locked up and waiting for your trial it’s going to be no big deal, right? When you’re lying in the morgue riddled full of bullets, it’s no big deal, right? Kyle: You and John, huh. They say great minds think alike, but I wouldn’t exactly call John a great mind, so- Elizabeth: Are you even listening to me? Kyle: Yeah, I’m listening. John was like this at first, but now he’s on board with me. Elizabeth: Come on, John. What are you thinking? Kyle: Look, I can tell you don’t agree with my decision, but like I told John, it’s my decision and you’re not going to change it. Elizabeth: Well, if you can’t beat them, might as well join them. Kyle: *quietly* Perfect. I was hoping that’d work this time, too. Elizabeth: You say something? Kyle: Uh, no. Elizabeth: Well, that settles it, I guess. I’m in as long I don’t have to be in the line of fire. Kyle: Perfect. Glad to see you agree now. I hope you’re more helpful than John. Elizabeth: Oh, please. Don’t even compare John and I. *They arrive at her house.* Elizabeth: Hey, I’ll see you sometime soon. Kyle: Take care of yourself. Tyla
I like the direction you've taken with the opening missions. With drinking and bowling and chasing down muggers it feels very much like the opening of GTAIV. These are missions I'd probably breeze through in five minutes if I were playing this as a game, but it's taken me at least fifteen to read through the mammoth amount of content you've got. It's a credit to your dialogue that I didn't bugger off to do something else in that time. The level of character development is amazing and had me hooked. Treat us to more soon. I was going for more a IV opening. He's not too much into crime right now, as he's doing more with his friends, but he eventually spirals into an entire empire of crime that keeps him busy. I try to make the dialogue as real as possible. I want it to feel like actual conversations people would have and not cliche one-liners and jokes. Expect more soon. ClaudX
Random Character Bryant Moreno: Let The Games Begin Protagonist: Kyle James [As Kyle approaches the local track in Speedway, the blip for the mission appears and triggers when Kyle walks near it. Kyle walks up to a guardrail, leans on it, and watches a single, lone runner begin to run the 110m hurdles. Kyle watches until he is finished running. The runner grabs a towel and wipes off his forehead, and then proceeds to pick up a water bottle and drink from it. He starts walking towards the building so he can change back to his original clothing, but Kyle interrupts him.] Kyle: *still looking out onto the track* Good job out there. Bryant: Thanks. Do you run? Kyle: I used to. Back in high school I was the greatest hurdler on the team. Bryant: Really? Do you, by any chance, happen to know a-*he stops as Kyle turns around to face him* Kyle James? Kyle: I’m sorry, do I know you? Bryant: *getting angry* Don’t act like you don’t know, you prick! It’s me! Bryant Moreno! The greatest hurdler at our school! Kyle: Bryant? I don’t think I know a Bryant. Bryant: *getting even angrier* Yes, you do! I ran alongside you in high school! You somehow managed to beat me every time, but that’s going to change! Kyle: It is? Bryant: Yeah, it is. We’re going to have one last race. You, me, here. May I win. *he walks off* Kyle: I believe the phrase is, “May the best man win.” Hmm. Bryant Moreno? Doesn’t ring any bells. [There is an optional phone call to John that Kyle can make to receive his input before Bryant’s second encounter.] Kyle: Hey, John? John: Yeah, what do you need? Kyle: Do you know a…Bryant Moreno? John: Let me think…Yes, yes, I think I do. Why? Kyle: Some guy at the track said that he was him and he ran alongside me in hurdles. John: If I remember correctly, he did. Kyle: He did? Wow, I didn’t realize my memory was so shot. John: Let’s just hope I don’t have to put you in a nursing home anytime soon. Kyle: Yeah, thanks for that. Well, he challenged me to a hurdles race at the track. John: That’s strange. He did hate that you were always better than him. Maybe it’s revenge or payback? Kyle: I guess so. I’m pretty out of shape right now. I haven’t run since…I don’t even know. John: You better run around some before you go against him, then. You need to build your stamina up. Kyle: Alright. I’ll talk to you later. Mission Passed Rewards: Bryant Moreno’s Second Encounter Edited January 12, 2015 by ssbawesome
