I like sunny atmosphere and fun stuff, but no FIB,mercenaries and yoga.I liked 3D era games the most and would like if future GTA games be as similar as possible to classics like Vice City or San Andreas.

This is the least biased poll I've seen in my life.

NO!

So far, it's not satisfying though.

What's disconcerting however, is the old school fun missing rapidly with each HD Title, plus plenty of other things that are introduced/changed to elicit praise from 'not-so hardcore/serious fans', and quite frankly feels more bothering in the larger scheme of things, incl. ONLINE!

That's just how I feel about the course of their direction.

Also, what LeopardGecko said, the only effective solution would be returning to the roots, and combine it with the improvements that were not possible then, but now!

Queen Elizabeth II

I bet GTA VI will be the last one. At least last "BIG" Grand Theft Auto. And I'd like it to be the last one, because the series is going dooown, just like Silent Hill. I want to remember this game as being awesome not sh*t.

I'd argue the new "direction" has more to do wIth GTAO than any specific theme employed with GTA V. I'm worried GTAO will engulf even more of GTA VI than GTA V. I can see single player serving to GTA sadly what single player does to COD.

If that's the direction we interpret than I don't like it.

BTW I've changed the poll question to a simple "yes" and "no" since the other one was kind of silly.

Yes, online is f*cking up the GTA series. It shouldn't be online focused. SP should get all the focus and a decent multiplayer like IV.

Trivial, menial DLC?

Cheap, tacky plot?

Humor revolving around political jokes and "social commentary"?

Yeah, no.

Would rather have a 3D era like GTA instead of like IV or V.

There is no direction ''since'' V. It's currently the lates, so when we get VI and VII then we can look back and ask if the direction ''since'' V was good or not. But each GTA is a game on it's own, V was sunny beaches and government, IV was gritty city and mafia..

What a biased poll this is... and I agree with it 100%.

Withholding patches so they can release them alongside things we didn't ask for but got for free so we don't "have a right to complain about it" is one thing but using that tactic solely as a way to postpone what was promised in trailers or to fix things they didn't properly test is disgraceful and if it weren't Rockstar, no one would defend it. And that's on top of what universetwisters said above regarding the path GTA's writing staff has taken, another thing I hated about V and ignored so I could have fun with it. From a size and scale perspective, it's absolutely terrific but it kinda has to be if it's going to be a AAA video game in a constantly-evolving tech and entertainment market. Once you've run over your 50th prostitute, you see the game for what it is: an advertisement for the MMO Take-Two demanded they make and a beta test for a game that was meant for the 8th console generation. I'd feel better if they made an effort to fix things that have been wonky and glitchy for the past 10 months but they haven't. They just promise us crate drops and trucker hats and put their Shark cards on sale, something that usually spells the death of a lesser franchise. That's bad business, I say. Well, not bad business as they'll make a lot of money off of it but it feels bad.

The GTA that I used to love was about starting off from the bottom working with gangs, piss them off when they decide to f*ck with you, then somehow become powerful in the underworld of the city.

One game is not going to show which direction is the series heading to. By that logic, GTA V would have been very similar to IV, which as you know, isn't true. Each time R* is trying something different, so not everybody may like it. It has been like that always; I doubt that future GTAs will be similar (story-wise) with V.

That's a better poll.

General direction? Well, yes. But I think they should've gotten off the train a stop or two sooner. Gameplaywise, there are a lot of things that were taken just a bit too far for my liking. Like car handling, maneuvering the cars in mid-air and rolling the cars. If they were dialled a little back, I would like most of it.

Gunplay also felt a little too easy, hardly any recoil on most weapons.

There's no direction at all. Every GTA is a state of its own, that is, you get a cold and depressive GTA (e.g. IV) and the next one you get a vibrant and colorful GTA (e.g. V). The series is not moving into one direction, but instead, it explores different themes in different eras.

You can't say "the direction the series is going" when it's the first game they actually changed something drastically, and you don't know how the next game will be. If both had traits in common then maybe we could discuss the direction GTA was going since V. Just my 2 cents.

Worse. I'd say the quality of story telling has declined ever since V was released at least in my opinion. I felt that V was made out of obligation rather than passion, there were so many missed opportunities.

Cheers.

Obviously no, although it may be a little to early to tell: the direction the series is currently going with GTA Online is horrible. It may be the end of GTA as we know it. Lets see how the next GTA is, and then we can fully judge if R* has lost its touch with Grand Theft Auto.

ok, let's see the direction since GTA IV (some of them are tied to GTA V, but you can clearly see the first idea in GTA IV)

- lack of decent rewards

- removal of minigame (often crime-related)

- omniscent cops

- being shot trough the car (realistic, but sometimes there's no way to avoid death)

- windshell expulsion

- lack of interiors

- direct or indirect use of multiple protagonist

- pointless "moral choises"

- pointless multiple endings

- heavy scripted missions

- "realism" in all the wrong places (not able to stand on car roof, Death by jumping in the water)

- DLC

...

give me back the 3d era, please!!!

V is my fav. game of all time.

I'm indifferent. I think GTA Online's pretty sh*tty and is having slightly aversive effects on the game via single player limitations: e.g., adding weapons that are essentially variations of each other similar to how MMOs handle weapons, instead of more diverse weapons such as flame throwers. However, on the bright side, GTA Online pretty much guarantees a steady, albeit small, stream of updates for V whenever they have "events." Not complaining about the free sh*t, just wish the free sh*t didn't occupy parts of the limited space that exists for additional sh*t.

I think you mean GTA:O not GTA V with this poll.

Same thing, all part of the same game and no, I am worried about the future of GTA after V

It sounds like you've got GTA IV and GTA V mixed up with GTA III, VC and LCS.
