Randoms who try to beep into your garage/apartment: Any reason not to?

I'd say once every week or two, I'll be in the garage or apartment just dicking around, changing clothes or looking at my cars and some random player will try to buzz into my garage or apartment. I've always let them in. Most of the time they just go around looking at my cars or look at the view of my apartment, but is there any reason why I should not let them in? Can they glitch and blow up my cars for instance?

No, they can not blow up your cars.

 

Besides, most of the time they don't even need to be in your garage to do that anyways.

The only reason I don't let them in is because I find it weird they want to look at my virtual items :S

 

I have heard some people over the mics having fun with it though, you meet up online and get drunk (in real life) and mess about. Otherwise I don't get it.

If somebody hits the buzzer to enter your garage, they need to stay in the buzzer menu until you let them in. If they don't and you go to the garage door to let them in, you simply walk outside.

 

If they are inclined to do you harm, you might be helpless to resist their attack, since you're. caught in a walkout animation.

I usually let them in, UNTIL last week when the random walked into my garage and blew me up. I guess he had a friend put a sticky bomb on him and as soon as he disappeared into my garage, his friend activated it and blew us up. This is how trolls ruin our fine game and we have to roam around in paranoia.

Randoms are strange. They're either total psychopaths willing to kill everything in sight or creeps who like to roam about stalking you and/or picking you up and driving you around for no particular reason.

Usually, unless it's some moron who tried to kill me earlier in the same session. What are they going to do once I let them in? They can't use their guns inside my apartment...

The other day, I had someone buzzing my apartment about a minute after I joined an online session. I was in the middle of changing clothes and I tried to get to the door fast enough, but I heard a loud explosion outside and my screen shook a little; the poor guy got blown to bits by another player.

only had a random buzz to be let into my garage once so far, although i do spam the sh*t out of the other guys buzzer to show my displeasure if they are hiding because of a bounty on their head.

Outside of going after somebody for a bounty, or battling them for whatever reason (fighting over a Simeon vehicle, revenge kill, etc...), I dont interact with randoms. At all. I dont trust em... you never know who's a hacker/modder, what they're capable of doing if they are, or what their intentions are... so no, they cant come into my garage/apt.

 

Why the hell a random wants into my garage out of left field is beyond me... especially when I don't even use my mic outside of private chat... but it seems to happen from time to time.

I check their rank and only allow low levels that are getting grieved in. But I get buzzes left and right, sometimes I will let them in sometimes I won't.

This happens quite a lot. I think most of the times people don't even intend to enter your garage or apartment, they just try to enter theirs. This happened to me as well.

What i allways do when someone is buzxing my appartment/garage:

 

1. Check map, look at the psn of the player

2. Pull put your phone and go to contacts

3. Send the person a message: who's there???

 

It can end up in funny coversations, or do it backwards, you go to someone's appartment, text him: Knock knock, and then buzz, also this can lead to funny coversations

Usually for me it's the exact opposite. I have invites spammed for me to enter another person's apartment/garage randomly; rarely I get a message explaining why or they beg for me to look at their lovely collection of "cars".

There's one thing they can do. Their friend can throw a sticky bomb on them and they can blow you up in your apartment. Favourite thing to use against bounties.

I rarely let people in my apartment. You never know what they will do after you both leave the apartment. You just got to always make the first move. Be a step ahead of the invitee.

I used to let everyone in to see my cars until people started the ol,buzz the door, then run away. This would leave you leaving the garage when you walked over to let them in and getting shot in the face while walking out. I still let them in now, but only after going passive.
