I think a New Orleans place would be cool. It had the highest murder rate as of 2011 in the US. It could be called New Paris.

Las Venturas or Carcer City (since I don't play Manhunt) I've never seen it.

Nothing much to see of it in Manhunt, except that it`s dark.

Would it make a good GTA game, though?

I haven't played GTA like 1,5 years but after seing all the recent streams on Twitch I kinda got in the mood again and remembered a thought about the next GTA I had when I played GTA V 1,5 years ago.

Where would I like to see GTA VI take place? Vice City and it's outskirts like the Everglades AND Havana.

Just think about how cool it would be to have two playable cities in two different countries.

You have two characters, one American in Miami and a Cuban in Havana. At the beginning of the story they don't know each other and you can't travel between the cities and are stuck in the respective city of the character. At some point in the story their paths cross and you can visit both cities with either character and they get to do mission together etc. Story would obviously be drug related but it would be nice if it was a tiny bit more serious than previous GTA titles.

And how cool would it be if the whole world and the whole distance between the two cities would be open world? You hop on a plane in Miami and fly all the way to Havana without any loading screen or interruption. Just completely open. Here and there some islands.

Just the sheer contrast in visuals and culture between the two cities would be stunning to see ingame.

Of course the only downside would be that we already had Vice City and that Los Santos has a similiar feel to it like Vice City.

Cities, in order of appearances. (cut-scene only excluded)

Liberty City - 9 games.

Vice City - 3 games.

Los Santos - 2 games.

Anywhere City - 1 game.

San Fierro - 1 game.

Las Venturas - 1 game.

San Andreas (city) - 1 game.

Vice City has already been featured 3 times. So it probably won't be featured in VI. Maybe it could either be San Fierro or Las Venturas, since they have only had one appearance.

They need to have one dark city and one bright city in the next GTA. Carcer City and Vice City, there, perfect balance.

Erm you are gunna have to explain alot more buddy. How can you say VC is a bright city? It's not, it's dark, so are most of the cities except for HD Era Los Santos which has it's own dark elements. VC has that strong criminal vibe to it here and there, while also having cheap night club scenes here and there and all that fancy stuff, but mostly it's poetic dark. Not LC style and level, but dark on it's own.

Well obviously it isn`t Disneyland but it`s bright enough to be considered a bright city for GTA. It`s a beautiful place with clear, blue skies, and Carcer City could be the ugly cesspool of ghetto infested misery (like Chicago) for the balance, so that no one gets to feel like "the game`s too bright/dark..." since you can just fly from one city to the other and have a different atmosphere altogether.

after soaking in the sun for few years with V i can see adapting to a dark and moody setting.

ludendroff could have been used by R* as that...a place to fly to once in a while to get a total different vibe. too bad chances are we won't see it.

besides, the hypothetical carcer city will sure have rural areas (hills, plains, countryside) so maybe that will add diversity to the scenery.

look at the backwoods outside of pittsburgh.

Israel(/Palestine)

Whether it's the skyscrapers, clubbing or parisian boulevards of Tel Aviv...

4714641268_e07c2c21f4_b.jpg

The narrow, ancient streets of Jerusalem...
dsc_0381-1.jpg
The wild, desolate and stark Negev desert...
Negev-desert.jpg
The lush, green, rugged countryside of the Galilee and Golan...

seaofgalilee-israeltourism.jpg
Or the lawless, crazy, desperate and unpredictable slums of Gaza...

Gaza-City-Palestinian-Te-13lg.jpg

There is nowhere as varied and exciting a place to base a game on...

Plus, R* get off on making people butthurt, and it's literally impossible to have a sane discussion about the place without pissing half the world off...imagine a maniacal video game set there! :panic:

It would be fantastic if R* make a 70's San Fierro with all it's countryside (and if possible Las Venturas with all the desert environment as well). Something between 1975 and 1978.
Rockstar already did a great job with the 80's in VC, the early 90's in SA and late 90's in IV, and the current time in V, so i think it's time to go back to 70's as it's a setting with so much potential...
The cold war, sexual revolution, big and beautiful cars, the chinese mafia plaguing SF, energy crisis, rise of heavy metal and other musical genres, hippie culture, big blockbusters (Jaws, Star Wars), the geography of San Fierro would make pretty exciting car chases, and so on. Also imagine the great soundtrack we would get.
As the protagonist, we could play as a Vietnam vet. who is tired and pissed on the US government and eventually get involved in the crime life.
If the lack of internet is a problem, then there would be newspapers and maganizes to cover it. Want to invest in Stock market? Then go to the bank.

Other than that, Vice City (and the southern Florida in general) would be interesting, but i don't know if it would be so succesful without that 80's vibe. Outside America, London is my preference.
We already got Liberty City and Los Santos enough. The southner San Andreas was already pretty much explored with GTA V, so i think it would be good to to give the north a shot. To be honest, even the modern time version of it would be great for me. Just don't make Liberty City again, and i think Vice City would hardly be cool if based in the current time period.

Personally think a early/mid 1990's setting would be nice, combined of a new redone Liberty city (with the wtc), Alderney & Atlantic city with the pine barrens.

Protagonist is in late teens early 20's living in a dangerous housing project dealing with 2-3 friends that all grew up with each other in the same apartment block.

LC- more housing projects, football/baseball stadium, more interact able times sqaure, more nightlife

Alderney- State prison

Atl city- casinos, boardwalk..

I'm sure there's more stuff to add

I wouldn't mind it taking place in somewhere that health care is free, because these hospital bills have really been making a fortune off of my characters.

I would like if GTA 6 takes place in Vice City and surrounding area (some wetlands, forests and a few towns) or alternatively in Las Venturas and San Fierro (both cities in one game, one on each side of the map with a desert around LV,a forest around SF and some small towns between the cities).I also wouldn´t mind if they make some new city in the midwest, maybe something based on Chicago or Detroit. As for time setting,I would prefer 70s,80s,90s or early 2000s (depending on the location, for example 80s would fit best with VC).

I would love a GTA game set in Toronto or Vancouver.

Then for realism purposes, every month the game should tax you 60% of your entire bank to pay for all that "free healthcare" for everyone and it should be impossible to get rich because the more you earn the higher the taxation rate would be.

i dont think it should be restricted to a city or town.

i think the next gta game should be based in a county, or 'state' - thereby having a variety of towns and cities

san andreas worked perfectly and gave it a great sense of a journey from A to B to C etc, they should do that again instead of feeling confined in one place.

liberty city is done to death.

los santos is done.

san andreas cant be topped.

vice might get one last go but i dont see whats so special about it.

carcer would be an exciting possibility.

or a brand new location like sao paolo (+surrounding areas) or london (greater london not just central/zone 1).

  • Detroit (+ Hamtramck

this please. i love hamtramck its so nice. but i would love to see a gta in nashville tn. great place for country music. it could be nashville and also include the surrounding countryside and also it could have clarksville with ft campbell as a military base. i would love to also see towns like franklin murfreesborough and dickson. pretty much middle tennessee. if this would happen i would be so happy. i think we need a gta in a lesser used state. because nowadays games just overuse la and new york.

definitely Greater London.

more than just the city, aka square mile, lots of environments from the urban to the country (epping forest is at the end of the central line), and has an unbelievable range of ethnicities and nationalities, think of all the stories you could do in getting involved in the businesses of all the different types of gang and activity. guns can be smuggled or got at the van in the alley like they did with gta4 eps of liberty city. west london would be different from east london, south different from north, etc. also they can incorporate surrounding counties for some diversity in location.

if you really think about it, London's not really a city, it's much bigger than that, it's like a WORLD in one city, it's that huge and no american city can compare to this alpha megacity (except maybe nyc which London should be held in the same respect and regard, unfortunately americans are not willing to accept this due to their insularity and ignorance).

DISCLAIMER: I'm fully aware of Les The Benz' stipulation regarding all future GTA's, but just let me fantasize for a moment ...

Belfast, 1976

The height of the "Troubles" - main character is a respected con-artist, specializing in explosives. Takes on the wrong job one day, sh*t goes awry and next thing you know he's trying to fend off heat from both sides of the sectarian divide AND the police. Possibly even runs into the McReary clan in their early days.

Best part is, a five-star wanted level would realistically attract the Army.

It'll never happen, of course, and would most certainly be banned if it did. But it would be funny as all hell.

My gta wish list is the release of GTA: Earth.

Thats right, the entire planet. Whether im "loading" at an invisible wall to load to get to the adjoining city in a similar way that some mmorpgs work as you run through its world, or 100% seemless.

Thatd be a lot of DLC

That's probably not going to happen for a long time: First, think of the development time, second, R* hasn't done a whole country yet, and third, there should be missions that aren't too repetitive. Finally, does R* even know how the planet earth should be portrayed in a gta game?
