Why fix what ain`t broken? The locations already introduced are the perfect locations for a game like GTA. I want to see a scaled continental USA map with LC, LS, LV, SF and VC all on one map only bigger, more detailed and with more interiors. Maybe also add mini cities in between to fly over.

For those saying they want an international GTA game - it would never work. Many countries around the world don`t have guns and even their police don`t have guns. Also, the America has the fastest cars and the best roads, and the most diverse scenery. God forbid a GTA game where they don`t speak English! If they base it on a foreign country but they all speak American English and carry guns willy nilly it would not feel authentic and would suck. And if everyone spoke with a foreign accent it would be annoying.

recyling the same boring cities over and over again gets redundant and stale after awhile.

liberty city is done to death. cross that off the list.

los santos - ditto. cross that off.

LV+SF - not good enough on their own.

vice - only one chance left although vice city left a good game which i dont think can be topped for that city.

the world's bigger than those places, you know.

I think it would be cool to have 2 different locations. Where you can actually make use of the airports and fly a plane over. Or even steal one and fly over yourself. Then if you get bored of one place u can fly somewhere where else

There could be new US locations added like a version of Chicago and what not, and every time a GTA comes out on a new generation of consoles the cities are completely remade from scratch. At any rate, I don`t want an ethnic GTA where you hijack a mule to escape the monk law enforcement through the mountains, all the while being cursed at in Mandarin, or a GTA based in Dubai or Paris or any of that crap. Imagine only stealing cars no bigger than the VW Beetle and the cops all ride bicycles and don`t even have handguns. The radio`s all in foreign speak and what not, I don`t think you`ve thought this international GTA idea through very well.

Sweeping generalisations, coming to a thread near you!

...anyway.

I'd like to see Rockstar try their hand at a completely fictional area instead of shrinking a real place; see what they can do with freedom for city layout, tone, themes, countryside, wildlife etc. instead of being limited by what they're basing it off of. Could throw it in Anywhere City, since they like to reuse areas :p

Personally I think they should make a GTA game in Canada somewhere like Vancouver or Nova Scotia so we can have a bit of difference from the other games. also i think Detroit would be good because it has a high crime rate so its pretty much the perfect place for a GTA game.

i didnt mention anything about an 'international GTA' in the sense of multiple non-US places, not as if sleeping dogs was a bad game...

portrayals of other cities would actually be refreshing and neednt be restricted to cliched stereotypes in how theyre presented.

dont mind a new place like chicago, sao paolo, london, or even a made-up place like manhunt's carcer.

You could move it around San Andreas, because of how well Los Santos has been for GTA V keeping with the San Andreas area would keep the magic and atmosphere and people would adapt to feel of the area Las Venturas would be a great setting could you imagine it a night with the casino lights illuminating the streets, the theory of going to Vice City would be okay but to go back into the eighties would be like giving the player a Vice City Remastered but with new material who knows, What R* have achieved with landmarks like Mount Chiliad which captivated the player with the likes of the Mount Chiliad Mystery, they'll work on a new exciting mystery for us to indulge in, there's obviously going to be a 7-8 year wait for the next episode in GTA but whatever R* decide it'll be right for the players hart. My hometown...Pittsburgh!! We have so many bridges you could throw bodies off. :p JK Although this city is more interesting than most think.
Very science, health and culture oriented.

In all seriousness, I'd love to see a re-imagined Las Venturas and San Fierro in present day. You could drive (AND have choice to fly via Airport) between the 2 cities, and LV would be a great place for some casino heists.

Present day Vice City could be interesting as well.

If they plan on using a city never used before, I could see a Seattle spin-off working.

I played Driver 1 & 2 (I know, I know), so I don't really want to see Chicago done again, and for some reason, I'd like to keep it in the U.S. Although Toronto seems like a good idea, and possibly Stockholm.

The beginning was clearly a joke.

The end was clearly my opinion. Not that hard to understand.

I don't want a city like Chicago. Played it before. Tired of certain cities being re-used, even if it's on different video games.

I would like to see a new city, but if they do re-use cities they've already done, I'd like Las Venturas back mostly.

They should do GTA based on the state of NJ

One part of the map would similar to Alderney. It would be based on Newark, Jersey City, Paterson and all those small Italian you see in the Sopranos.

After that you would pass though a country area similiar to the Pine Barrens and a bunch of small towns like you see in Central and South Jersey plus some farmland abd you would have a city similiar to Camden

On the other side of the map would be Atlantic City and shore towns similiar to Asbury Park and Seaside Heights. It would be the GTA version of the Jersey Shore

I wouldn't mind something like the Jersey idea. I think that would be diverse enough to appeal to players of all kinds, and there's some great storylines you could get out of that location.

I'd like to see them implement snow as well, especially if it were set in Jersey. GTA V has snow only around Christmas time, but it rains SO MUCH more than Los Santos' real life counterpart, Los Angeles. I think random snowy days would add an interesting dynamic.

They should have seasons so we can see snow but also see the shore in it's full summer time glory and the story should take place over the course of a year, With Atlantic City we can also have gambling and casinos.

I don't care about story arcs, character development or locations. All I really hope for is a viable, realistic, engaging and dynamic underworld filled with crime-related side activities that would boost re-play value.

And yes...I'm fully aware that I'm asking for too much.

But (with all that being said) for the sake of speculation: I'd much rather see 6 set along the Rust Belt "...where the American Dream has come to die and rot."

Think about it:

in 4 we are introduced to it through the eyes of an immigrant;

in 5 we get doped by its flares and compromise everything we are to get a sip of it, burning whatever good is left within us in the process;

in 6 we should see the very gritty reality of whatever lays beyond its seducing veil.

The Rust Belt it's the only area that would add new highs and lows to R*'s social commentary on today's America, which has been on the rise since the series moved into the HD era. That plus a whole new setting of course.

The social gap between Meadows Park East and South Bohan was not as radical as the one shown later on between Rockford Hills and Millar's point.

So, after Liberty City and Southern San Andreas, it would make sense to power it up a notch. It could be the very peak of GTA's satirical and critical undertones in the HD era.

Therust belt features some of the wealthiest suburbs in the nation along with the worst examples of post-apocalyptic-like depression.

Neither IV nor V featured such a level of human and urban decay.

Don't fall into the "we're making a comeback..." mantra/propaganda. I'm all for it and I humbly wish them all the best, but I do have some family connections to those areas and it's bad. Really bad.

It does have a "vibe" of its own tho.

Since the late 70s most of the over-the-top violent, corrupted and depressed cities have all been located along the Rust Belt: Camden NJ, Rochester NY, St. Louis MO, Birmingham AL, Flint MI, Detroit MI, Youngstown OH, Cleveland OH just to name a few.

The local underworld is quite diverse. More so than what passes on national tv, which is almost limited to: black gangs, black gangs, black gangs, black gangs, some latino gangs and few bikers.

Corruption among public officials is off the roof.

While some Rust belt areas (such as Chicago, NJ and Philly) have viable traditional mob crime families still well-entrenched in the local economy, some mafia leftovers are still to be found around western PA, Michigan, and eastern OH but in a different form.

Former-wiseguys (ex. the Dimora/Papalardo crowd in OH) who have recycled themselves as shady real estate investors, crooked campaign contributors, vending machines kingpins, while keeping some of their old habits on the side.

Basically there is no formal mob structure anymore (as it's in place elsewhere), but a loosely association of bookmakers, loan sharks, political greasers and racketeers tied together by their respective mob lineage.

The Detroit mob for ex. has been a successful gambling/shy-only family-run operation since the late 1990s. They basically called it quits and now stick to what they know best and avoid getting merged up with the criminal clusterf*ck of metro Detroit, relocating all of their interests in the outer suburbs. Up Nine Mile.

Still, check the "Shelby Township Ventimiglia/D'Anna Tiramisu Restaurant Feud" to get some glimpse of what some local Italian-lastnamed hoods are up to these days.

Since the 90s several Eurasian and Balkan crime groups have settled in the area, most notably eastern Ohio, where they move a ton of dope.

Not to mention the before-mentioned bikers, indigenous meth-cooking yokels and the obvious African-American and Latino criminal subcultures.

As for the many "Sun-Supremacists", they should consider the following:

1 V might still have a 1-to-2-year life span counting future single player DLC and Online stuff. That will allow us to soak into the sun for a while longer. Unless the SP DLC(s) will feature new locations but that's highly unlikely.

2 best-case scenario the next installment will come out around 2017/2018;

3 before then we'll most likely explore the American Southwest/east again in RDR 2. RDR 1 featured mountainous areas but, unless the sequel will have some Rockies-like heights or snowy Dakotas' prairies, we won't get a cold okie/upper-midwestern/pennsylvania/upstate ny feel.

So trust me: by the time 6 will be announced we'll be through with sunny and warm southern settings.

Not to mention that the next title could feature a full season circle, meaning that we won't be stuck in the tundra for the whole story (not that I would mind that, but I understand that it's not for all).

1970's San Fierro

11aaibt.jpg

2q0w1hi.jpg

1970's San Fierro would be awesome. Vietnam, Watergate, Disco. The 70's were a very interesting period in America. In San Fierro you could have vietnam vets coming home and starting biker clubs, hippies, the sexual revolution. Across the bay in Oakland you can have the Black Panthers. So much can be done with the 70's and San Fierro.

I would take any location over Vice City. However Rockstar does it, I think that Vice City resembles Los Santos a lot. They're both know for being sun-soaked, and of course, for the iconic beach and night life. At least in III's era, we went from Vice City to a state with three different cities of different atmosphere and vibe. I can't see how a retake on Vice City would bring a major change from the atmosphere of Los Santos, unless Rockstar explores the darkest themes of the city just to give VI a different vibe from that of V.
