Good Hombre

People are pointing to the little easter eggs referencing LS in GTAIV as proof it'd take place in SA, buuuut, there was an entire advert dedicated to LV, everyone willing to overlook that?

There are several references to LV in IV aswell, but I don't see they returning to the West Coast anytime soon.

I'm all in for a new city or a set of cities. As long as it isn't Chicago or San Francisco (San Fierro), the Watch_Dogs series sorta dried those two out in my opinion.

My suggestion:

The Big Easy:

Baton Rouge:

And an oil refinery/industrial park that glimmers at night would be perfect too:

OT: I think LV would be interesting. They kind of wasted the desert in V and it didn't really fit.

With the LV setting you could have the mob back in an important role (I know they aren't as important anymore but this isn't real life), huge focus on Casino's and gambling etc.

LV Probably won't happen due to online gambling laws, and that's all LV is really known for. Since Online is a major part of GTA, and considering they can't implement the casino in Online as is, Las Venturas is a non starter. Which sucks

If GTA6 is set in Vice City again I'd love it if R* used multiple protagonists to tell a story which spans several decades and when you toggle characters this time you switch (eras) between the 80s and present day.

Edit: If you feel like old school GTA:VC-style gameplay and missions you can stick to the 80s, but if you want a more GTA5 like experience you can toggle to the present day for modern cars, weapons, music, ifruit / internet & GTA Online 2.

This is a really creative idea.

Not over and over. They will just probably want to remake all 3d Universe cities except for San Fierro and Las Venturas probably want to close out with VC

Not really. in MY opinion, VC was special because of it's time period and era. It wouldn't be THAT interesting in the modern day. Also, the list of locations i wrote above are from Rockstar's 2012 production notes, so one of them is going to make it. Vice City was never mentioned in the production notes so they're ruling it out. If i were to guess i'd go with Chicago/Detroit. We'll see in a couple of years.

I'd be excited if the next city were Chicago or Detroit.... or even both. I'd also think it would be cool if R* made the weather change in the next incarnation of Online as the year goes by. It's spring? Rainy and chilly? Summer? Hot and humid. Fall? Falling leaves and chilly weather? Winter time? Frozen water, snow, and cold.

Really cool idea, IMO.

But I have one question. How did you get your hands on Rockstar's production notes? Ash?

ChiRaq won't happen cause of the trap-terrorism, Las Vanturas is less likely to get sued.

Vice City is amazing/interesting right now in the modern. You just havn't been going to the theaters. Scarface isn't the only thing interesting about Vice City. Meek Mill and Trick Daddy are beefing it up.

A Uptown Rider will fit right in, along with Tim Neff and another female.

Leslie Benzie was the only one ruling it out and he ended up getting fired.

Gta online never gambles real money, so it plausible. They can implement a Casino online, mostly likely have a 10k max earning every 24hrs.

Also what notes? All I see is 4 gaint white lines looking like bars.

I can see R* creating each city from san andreas. Gta 5 is in LA , maybe next will be SF then LV. What does everyone think?

Yeah but it was in the list. Probably one of those options that they've ruled out pretty early on.

I would love to see Rockstar recreate Chicago and Detroit in their own image in one map... try something new.

I have this hunch that they could very well skip VC. It's not the VC of the 80's anymore, and Vice City would feel a lot like LS today. Warm weather, palm trees, celebrities.... feels similar to Los Santos.

I doubt they're gonna go to Las Venturas. Gambling is the primary draw of LV, and since Online is big now, and there could be issues with online gambling laws, LV is an non starter.

I doubt they would go to San Fierro...unless they wanna try to play the tech angle.... but that would feel too much like Watch_Dogs 2. Besides, it's not even on that list.

They could try Ludendorff, North Yankton. It's snowy and a small town, but I just don't feel that Rockstar would go down that route. A small town would feel old pretty quickly.

Carcer City maybe? I know it's from Manhunt but it also exists in the GTA 3D and HD Universe. Maybe Rockstar could re- imagine it as something like Chicago or Detroit. But that also might piss people off too.

Nope. Like i said the "Chicago (Carcer City)/Detroit" option in my opinion has a bigger chance than the rest in that list. It's either this or Mexico City. Fun Fact: Micheal's first job took place in the outskirts of Carcer City.

Nah, gta online gambling doesn't effect real life scenarios. R* doesn't gamble real money and i highly doubt sharkcards will be gambled away.

They can't sued for that TheFranchise. All they're going to tell you by a spokesperson is, "These claims are entirely meritless and completely ridiculous. We will vigorously defend ourselves with the regard to this matter."

Take Two vs The City of Chicago back in 2008, Chicago decided to pull Gta 4 ads from its buses and bus stops worth$300,000.

So R* mostly likely will never go there and mostly likely ruled out. Giving LV, VC and possibly a little part of SF for Gta Next convenient.

That isn't going to change Rockstar's decision in anyway.

If they don't, then R* is finally dumbing down their billions and games. Who needs a MC or Bully 2 anyways?

If they do change, go file a lawsuit.

Depends what city they decide to base Carcer City on of a lot of people think it's Detroit or Chicago I used to think that too but now I think Carcer city is either Philadelphia or Boston.

Detroit is making quite the comeback. I live near Detroit and the strides it's made in the past few years are unbelievable. Some of the neighborhoods still ain't great but all in due time.

Chicago isn't terrible either outside a few neighborhoods.

For reasons I stated a few posts above, I don't see either 3 of those happening. I could be wrong, but Vice City was only a popular location to go to before because it had the 80's theme to it. I doubt Rockstar is gonna go back in time because A.) They already did it with GTA: Vice City, and B.) They have shark cards to sell (*rolls eyes*). It's hard to sell shiny 80's (at least it would seem to be... they're not brand new) cars and clothes to 13 year old kids.

I don't think San Fierro either because if they want to play up the tech element, it will be too much like Watch_Dogs 2. LV, IMO, is a non-starter due to anti online gambling laws, and that's about the only draw to LV. Can't gamble online, so casinos would be inaccessible online. What would be the point?

I could be wrong, but who knows.

I wonder though if they might try to "redo" Carcer City, though. Maybe base it mostly more off Chicago with some certain Cleveland, St. Louis, and other rest belt city inspirations mixed in.

Yeah. The locations they pick for GTA nowadays are basically their real-life counterparts. LS is Los Angeles. LC is New York. So if they're gonna go with Carcer they might fully represent it as Chicago/Detroit (based on their choice)

Not sure how to not "quote train" here, so I will say this in a separate post. Rockstar has a lot of options here. Or, They could base Carcer City mainly off Chicago, just Chicago. They could base it off Chicago with certain Midwest influences, and create a new city based off Detroit and call it Auto City. Lots of options here.

Or, they could base a new carcer city solely off Detroit and create a new city based on Chicago. Either way... one of the criticism of GTA V was that certain parts of the map felt empty and underutilized. Would not be surprised to see 2 cities in the next GTA.

They have options in regards to Carcer City because it's never been depicted in a GTA game (only referenced). It has a chance to start fresh in the HD universe.

I would love to have a modern Vice City included in the universe for that nostalgia and easter egg fun but i'm not optimistic it'll tie into the story if they are going for Chicago/Detroit :(. One can only dream

How about more than one city with the possibility that you can only travel between them by buying an airplane ticket? Think Fierro and Vice in one game. It will truly be a behemoth project for R* to take, but the replayability factor and the amount of activites they can pour into the game is almost endless. I won't even talk about about the potential of the Online offering in such a large and varied world. Hey, maybe even throw Venturas into the mix, make it on the same land of Fierro, and then it would be the most mind-boggling game R* would've ever created.
