GTA 6 Location Poll

Likely some new city. Possible Capital City (a Parody of Washington DC) or something else.

 

But talking about what city I wanted to see it redesigned, a huge, detailed Liberty City.

More than GTA IV, closer to the actual dimensions. Already there were games where it was done.

Let it be only Algonquin, doesn't matter. Anyway, it will be a breakthrough.

 

I think GTA IV nailed LC perfectly, there is no need to return to it. Especially not just one decade after IV came out

I'm baffled that to this day, there are people who don't realize the fact that GTA won't leave America.

I realize it but I'm baffled that it won't. Why the hell should we play on the same recycled cities, same recycled continent every goddamn year? There has been no new cities in the GTA series the last 13 years since GTA San Andreas. I understand that GTA might be an "american" game, but people want something different. Make it a spin-off or something. I also don't understand why there are almost no other gaming companies creating a GTA style game outside US (like Sleeping Dogs).

First of there is nothing recycled about GTA3's LC and IV's LC, same for Los Santos. They remade them from ground up with much more detail & also more like the real life counterpart.

 

We still haven't seen HD versions of some cities Then after that you know there are other American cities right with a lot of potential right? Like Chicago, Detroit, Atlantic City etc.

 

And how is it "every goddam year"? Its been almost 4 years since V and it will take a few more until GTA VI.

 

A open world crime game set in Russia would be great but it just wouldn't be GTA, a series that is based on American culture and its satire. And Sleeping Dogs wasn't very successful, sadly there isn't much interest in non american cities

OT: I think LV would be interesting. They kind of wasted the desert in V and it didn't really fit.

 

With the LV setting you could have the mob back in an important role (I know they aren't as important anymore but this isn't real life), huge focus on Casino's and gambling etc.

Vice City? It's a depressing boring city that won't be the same without '80s setting.

 

America again? America isn't the only place on this planet, Rockstar, and with every GTA game and many Non-GTA games choosing the country as their/its setting, the location gets stale. Their is only so many times a person can play games with such location before they all start to feel the same. How is San Fierro going to feel different from Watch Dogs 2s or Driver SF's San Francisco?

 

You've proven to us that you're able to create a setting outside of the U.S. with 1998's GTA London 1961 and 1969 "Mission Paks" and given recent world events, the above countries would be perfect choices to do something a bit different.

 

People are still asking for games set outside America when Rockstar already said that that won't happen..lol. The whole series is biased on American culture and satire.

It makes zero sense to set a GTA in Turkey or Australia (wtf to both). England would work maybe as spin off

Just Cause series. But that's why GTA is stuck in a creative loop. Rockstar isn't willing to go bold and try new things. They keep doing the same thing over but with different names.

 

Sure 3 and 4 LC are different in terms of layouts and names, but they're both based on the same city. A city which is over-represented in media to the point where it's fatigued.

 

And as I see it, Sleeping Dogs failed because it's a horrible quality game, not because of it's location.

If GTA6 is set in Vice City again I'd love it if R* used multiple protagonists to tell a story which spans several decades and when you toggle characters this time you switch (eras) between the 80s and present day.

Edit: If you feel like old school GTA:VC-style gameplay and missions you can stick to the 80s, but if you want a more GTA5 like experience you can toggle to the present day for modern cars, weapons, music, ifruit / internet & GTA Online 2.

I think it would be interesting for the next title of Grand Theft Auto to be set in Chicago, as it's the gang capital and the murder capital (I think).

I think it would be amazing to see Oblock or 0600 hoods in game, meeting up comming rappers and seeing the drill movement unfold with it's own unique characters such as Lil Short or L'S Capone (RIP L'A) it would be realistic as that's what happens in Chicago. Lifeinvader beef and pulling up the OPPS hoods (Opp is a term for opposition) also seeing Gangster Disciples and Black Disciples beefing - and being able to pick a side and choose who to accept missions from like in GTA 2.

Jobs; you would have out of mission tasks, such as rapping, selling drugs, and doing hits.

Not sure if Rockstar would go with the idea, but I think it would be nice to go to a brand new location and not recycle them. Your thoughts?

Also; say you killed someone, you have a witness system and if you don't eliminate the witness you'll receive a case and you either bail yourself out or serve some kind of punishment.

I think Chicago would be very interesting and a welcome change after LS (unlike VC..). There is a lot of potential with that city.

 

But it seems likely that they want to do the other GTA cities first (those that need a HD treatment).

I think at this point everything else other than Vice City would 'surprise' me.

However this time it'll be modern day Miami unlike in GTA Vice City.

No matter what, GTA 6 has to continue where R* left with San Andreas and IV. V was a bit of a letdown (a huge letdown for me personally).

The next location will be one of these:

Small town gta - tight stories, scheduled characters, ridiculous levels of ambience, every home interior modeled. Every building enterable. More realism - if your wanted you are on the run for a while.

 

Vegas 1970s

 

Somewhere snowy - chicago/detroit

 

Mexico City

Not really. in MY opinion, VC was special because of it's time period and era. It wouldn't be THAT interesting in the modern day. Also, the list of locations i wrote above are from Rockstar's 2012 production notes, so one of them is going to make it. Vice City was never mentioned in the production notes so they're ruling it out. If i were to guess i'd go with Chicago/Detroit. We'll see in a couple of years.

Wtf I messaged Rockstar Support for a Las Venturas and Vice City map. After telling them releasing Gta 5 before the QS4, would make 1 billion.

They said ok then deleted the post for damage control. If they don't stick it the agreement, i'll be pissed.

San Fierro had its Easter Egg at the airport, but never made it. Leading me to believe it was as planned at their convenience.

Leaving San Fierro as a possible prologue.
