I don't really mind where, but I really want something more to do with the environment (e.g. snow, mountains, swamps, bayou, desert etc.)

San Fierro. Don't get me wrong, Vice City returning in HD would be great and all, but if GTA's are now going to be set in the present, then San Fierro would be perfect. I loved that city, I visited it more than Los Santos and Las Venturas when free roaming in San Andreas. It was just so entertaining, all the crazy stunt jumps you could pull off because of the city's design. San Fierro MUST return at some point in HD, preferably in it's own state (like how Los Santos technically got San Andreas all to itself). It had so much potential and if it returned in HD then maybe that potential could be recognised.

The hills in that place did make for some pretty awesome stunts. Once I got outta Los Santos I seldom ever went back in truth.

I felt like Los Santos (HD) was always referred to as being a part of Southern San Andreas, so adding San Fierro as an extension to San Andreas state would work fine.

Well there are some vice city references in gta 5 though so could be possible that next location is vice city.

Here is the main reason it could be vice city Skip to 29:23

Luis mentions los santos and vice city so los santos was used for gta 5 so that means vice city is for gta 6. Luis mentions los santos and vice city. Edited by Thegrandtheftmaster

Well let me say something ok. When luis mentioned vice city and los santos that was back in 2009 that game released. Los santos was the location for gta 5 so it could be possible that Vice city would be for gta 6. Look Im sorry if this sounds rude, but like it or not rockstar will eventually do vice city for another gta game, because it exist in the HD era of Gta. Gta 4 and its dlc and Gta 5 are in the HD era of gta that use the RAGE engine (Rockstar Advanced Game Engine). Im not sure why people are thinking Gta 6 will use a new engine, because if they did it would be hard for them to make Gta 5 characters appear in Gta 6 since they would run on 2 different engines. But anyways Carcer city was mentioned by Michael in the that paleto bay score, but Carcer city hasn't been used in any Gta title. The last time rockstar used Carcer city was back in 2007 in manhunt 2. There are references to carcer city in the HD era and the 3D era of gta. But Carcer city hasn't appeared yet, also btw Carcer City is on the east coast by liberty city. Its possible that carcer city is in liberty state so rockstar probably won't go back to the east coast for a while. Liberty city is the most used location in gta so rockstar wants to take a break from the east coast.

For the midwest we have only seen North Yankton, and most of it isn't solid. Thats why when your on a mission where your in north yankton if you try to explore you will fail the mission. Im not sure why you said the midwest exactly, but OK. The midwest hasn't really been mentioned that much in gta and the only physical appearance we say of it was in Gta 5 in North Yankton. North Yankton is based off of North Dakota so its the only physical appearance we saw in a gta game before.

Look the reason I posted that video was, because Luis mentioned los santos and vice city. Los santos was the location for gta 5 so Im thinking vice city would be for Gta 6. Look if we go back to the 80's in vice city think of the technology we would have. We can't go on ifruit phones we can't read websites on the web. These are the type of limiations we would have if we went to the 80's again. It would be a pain in the ass to have to drive all the way to car dealerships, and have to drive to places instead of just buying it on the web. Its fun seeing the websites in Gta 5 and we wouldn't be able to that if we went back to the 80's.

I get it there was a certain vibe to gta vice city it was the 80's vibe and the soundtrack. Thats why a lot of people like vice city better then san andreas the 80's feeling and all that sh*t. (Something I hope they add in Gta 6 was the night club in vice city) I get your feeling guys, but Miami still has crime in it as another user posted this on this threadacmilano, on 28 Jul 2016 - 5:55 PM, said:

Miami has been called many nasty things over the years, butworse than Detroit? That’s a new low.

According to financial news and opinion website 24/7 Wall St., Miami is the worst city in America to live in. Worse than second-place Detroit. Worse than third-place Paterson, N.J.

Never mind that Miami has warm weather, world-famous beaches, cruise ships, tourists, a vibrant multicultural community, Art Basel, fashion models, cuisine of all kinds, exciting night life, and a soaring skyline. Still, 24/7 Wall St. says it’s better to live in frigid Detroit, based on number of economic and social indicators.

The study found that “Miami’s median home value of $245,000 is well above the national median of $181,200. However, with a median household income of only $31,917 a year, well below the national median of $53,657, most of these homes are either out of reach or a financial burden on most Miami residents.”

Like most of the cities that made the Worst Places to Live list, more than one in every four people in Miami live in poverty. According to recently released research from the nonprofit think tank the Economic Policy Institute, Miami has a much wider than normal gap between the city’s wealthiest and poorest residents.

The top 1 percent of earners in the Miami metro area make about $2 million annually, 45 times greater than the average income of the other 99 percent of earners. “This earnings gap makes the metro area nearly the most unequal of any U.S. city,’’ said 24/7 Wall St.

Another factor was the Miami area’s violent crime rate — 1,060 incidents per 100,000 people — which is several times higher than the national rate. That, the study says, leads to incarceration, unstable employment, lesser-educated children and anxiety.

In 2012, Forbes named Miami the nation’s “Most Miserable City,” followed by Detroit; Flint, Mich.; and West Palm Beach. In 2014, Wallethub.com rated Miami the second-worst place to raise a child, trailing only Detroit.

By this point, our sun-soaked skin has gotten mighty thick.

I always thougt that Miami got better since 80's and Cocaine Cowboys era but it seems that its still bed. LC in GTA games was declared 'Worst in USA' but in real life it seems that Miami is much better than NY. so it could be a safe bet that next GTA will be in Vice City. I would love it considering original GTA VC is still my favorite videogame overall. Would you like to have next game in modern Miami/Vice City ? with all modern technicall possibilities it would be great in my opinion. Here are also other cities that are runner ups with Miami for worst city. Maybe one of them will be location in GTA 7 and beyond.

1. Miami, FL

2. Detroit, MI

3. Paterson, NJ

4. Hawthorne, CA

5. Fall River, MA

6. Birmingham, AL

7. Memphis, TN

8. Flint, MI

9. Cleveland, OH

10. Gary, IN

11. Westminster, CA

12. Jackson, MS

13. Dayton, OH

14. Buffalo, NY

15. St. Louis, MO

Miami still has crime guys its just there was a lot of drug dealing in the 80's.

The only reason why Luis mentioned Los Santos and Vice city was because that was a mission failed cutscene in the mission "Ladies Night" if you get to close when you're following Packie's car Luis will say that as a suggestion. IV, TLAD, and TBOGT have a lot of those...

Carcer City was not in Manhunt 2 I don't know where you're getting your information from but it's wrong The city used in Manhunt 2 was Cottonmouth. Carcer City last appeared in the first manhunt which came out in 2003. In IV they mention Carcer City and the midwest a lot and no it's not located in Liberty State. In the 3D Universe yes but that's over and we're in the HD universe now. They haven't said exactly where Carcer City is but it takes a lot of inspiration from cities in the Midwest and could be a city like Detroit or St.Louis.

Eh Detroit could work since they experienced riots last year, but anyways carcer city doesn't seem like a good place though. If you look at the manhunt version of it basically its a bunch of cities merged together to form one city. I know los santos and liberty city changed a lot from there 3D era versons and HD era versions, but those locations still had similar locations. Here are some similar locations in gta 4 and gta 3 liberty city and here are similar locations in gta san andreas and gta 5 los santos.

You see these games had similar locations even if they were in different eras Carcer city was so odd with they way it was. Carcer city wouldn't have any similar locations from its manhunt rendition, because Carcer City was basically some cities mixed together. Carcer city would basically be a lot different from its manhunt rendition. When rockstar are making these cities they include places from there 3D era renditions and Carcer city couldn't have it. Also Carcer City in the HD era is close to liberty city, because when the miles traveled stat is low it says "Liberty City to Carcer City." That proves what I said is correct when your mile stat goes up in Gta 4 it says "Liberty City (city depending on what your stats are)" We also know that rockstar called Washington Capital City see look closely.4QeP4SC.png

There are a lot of clues carcer city is close to liberty city in the HD era. We know this is true because of gta 4 and its stat system.

Check out my post, "GTA Next Set in the late 90s" for my opinion here. Bassically Late 1990's Set in an enlarged version of Las Venturas, with sites such as the Tierra Robada mountains, and the surrounding deserts of Bone County and Area 69.

Swamps are in Mafia 3 which is done by the same publisher more or less (Take2), so maybe Vice City is more unlikely this way. Chicago in Watch Dogs, San Francisco in Watch Dogs 2, New York in GTA 4, I wonder which major cities are still up to discussion

I remember, way back when GTA V was still a few months away, a Rockstar Dev (maybe Dan H) said they were going back to Vice City for a future game....Maybe i'm crazy but does anyone else remember that?

anyway, i'd love to see another period set GTA. Vice city got me into the series, because I was an 80s buff back in the day. San Fierro or Las Venturas in the 70s, or Liberty City in the 40s/50s would be awesome to me. I doubt it will ever happen, since it would be difficult to implement a smooth UI without smartphone mechanics, but I think it could be counteracted by having plenty of minigames and side stuff to do.

I voted Vice City but would take most places in the U.S really. Just please not London. It's so bland and dull.

image is linked beacuse its too big

the awesome map was made by this guy https://www.youtube.com/user/schweingutHD

This is a really nice concept picture, but I beleive there won't be any return of the Renderware ERA. They need to redo VC, LV, SF before they can include all the cities in 1 build. And by that time it'll be on next next next next gen hardware and it'll be rebooted again no doubt!

I world really like to see a GTA set in Europe. London would be fine, but I know Rockstar would f**k up with vehicle modeling and spawn.

I mean it's just so annoying to see only luxury cars on the road in V. Hope the next game will have more average cars

I honestly can't say I only see fancy cars, most of the stuff I see are a pile of crap.
