Sharing save files?

I know there are lots of threads about thisand i have had no problems giving out my save files before. But I am having trouble giving one to a friend of mine..

 

Has this ability been patched in a sony maintenance update?

 

Or can anyone tell me if this still works and if so how?

 

i had him put his usb in his computer, open it up , make a new folder named PS3. I then had him open up the PS3 folder and make another folder named SAVEDATA. I then had him open the file i sent him. locate the Blu file and drag it into the SAVEDATA folder he just made. Then simply take the usb and put into ps3. go to save data utility and copy it.

 

He got this far but when it loaded it told him it was not his file...I have doneok it before so what am i missing ?

This has happened to me before. What this means, is that the save has been assigned to your PS3, and not his. So you'd have to "resign" the gamesave before it'd work for him. There is things out there that can make the save work for ANY PS3, and also make it into a European save, too.

It's a bit confusing and difficult to explain especially since I don't have much experience with it. But I assure you there is TONS of Tutorials on Youtube for you to check, and download links to the programs are everywhere, too.
