...So any advice on what to really do now?

Man, I want to continue to actively enjoy this game. Due to the fact this is the only game left on my PS3 that I know will carry over data wise onto the PS4.

 

My issue is this: I'm pretty much stuck.

 

I like to do missions, however there's a problem with that. I'm not continously doing Rooftop Rumble. It's a lame ass mission, I've soloed it, it's no fun, R* is a bunch of ass hats for keeping that pay high while lengthier missions or the cooler ones where you have to pick your job in the mission are low.

 

Deathmatch lobbies are dead. Unless you add "1000000 RP AND $ LOLS", made by the people who's mothers should have swallowed. LTS used to be my favorite thing to do... now that's beyond dead.

 

Races can still be fun. No-collision is boring as hell though. Sorry, not everyone is an expert racer like you. I'm desperate in races. I like cars, but for some reason I always end up 2nd or 3rd. Yes, I will bump your ass out mid-way. Seems like every race is non-collision now though..

 

And in free roam, I usually just liked collecting and customizing cars. About two weeks ago, I started on making a replica garage. However, both garages are already filled. There are two cars I wanted to sell, my one Z-Type [i got in November, before the glitches really hauled out.] and my Infernus, but I can't sell either of those for whatever asinine reason. So they're stuck hogging up the one. I'm still out of space in my garage that I use for my personal vehicles and my car-show ones.

 

I'd say I'd take advantage of my group which is all made to help players out, but nowadays no player needs help or I can't do sh*t against some modding neckbeard in the session who needs their console locked already so real players can continue to have fun.

 

 

All ranting aside, any advice? Like, what's really left to do? No garage space, can't really help players, no point in trying to get money or have fun when it's only Rooftop Rumbles nowadays. Could totally understand if "CHANGE GAME" is the most frequent reply.

 

That also being said, there needs to be a big huge new update soon. Just so we can get more to do. First thing that needs done though? Nerf RR and increase payouts of other missions. Maybe all other missions so we get more to do.

If you didn't know? GTA:O has a sh*t community. Possibly worse than the CoD one. I've done the road trips. I've found car meets. I'll continue to do car meets. But those others? While nice to some, I come to GTA for a bit more fun then that.

 

I think the best advice for me is just to head back to Liberty City for a bit and enjoy the care free players who don't have to worry about lame missions or an asinine community.

If you're on ps3 I feel sorry for you. If you have a ps4 or xbox one, buy the game for that console and enjoy it. I'm certain you have no intention to put any effort into enjoying your current copy...those of us that still enjoy the game have done so without needing to adjust our play style.

Find a good crew to play with.

I only play private sessions with my crew who are very active.

In a night we each net $250,000 doing random missions/races and still have time and fun to goof off in free roam together.

Sucks that you can't filter out the player made deathmatches and races on ps3. That saved the game for me on Xbox. I think Rockstar will add away to block those soon. They've got to be getting constant complaints about it.

You can join multipul different crews but you can only be active in one but free to change to the other crews at anytime.

 

So maybe join a race crew or a dm crew and when you want to do a race, select the race crew etc.

Im not saying that you havd to follow my list, but im just giving you examples. Creativity is Key and you just got to make some friends on this game which isn't all that hard to do. Not everybody is an ass*ole as you might believe. Another one i forgot yo add to my list is making short film movies but if you don't like GTA online then theres always the gloomy, boring, depressing Liberty City to go back to.

Now, while that's on a whole different subject and I appreciate your advice, I'd honestly rather have that city which had it's different aspects than such a god damn fake plastic city like the one we got now.

Just play the other missions, that's what I do. If there's no cars, guns, clothes, etc to buy, then just play for fun. Pick a random mission, play it, then chose from the missions that come up afterwards at the voting screen. That's all I've ever done, if you don't need the money then who gives a rat's ass? Part of the fun in this game comes when you realize that having all the "stuff" isn't necessary, it's quite liberating actually. I stopped caring about all the ownable garbage a long time ago, and that's when the game really started being fun.

Maybe you shouldn't be playing races then if you're that bad that you have to ram to win. Cheap if you ask me. People rarely ever play on Non-Contact so I'm wondering how that's even a problem. If there was a problem to address, it would have to be the fact that RR is the only missions that people play. I'll host RR and I will get 3 players instantly in a matter of seconds. I'll host Method in the madness and I will rarely get anyone in.

1) I think we all know, that the payouts are a bad joke! Deliver a Titan (RL counterpart costs 62 million $) for about $10k? While some plastic mask costs $50.000... the thing is, 80% of all missions are paid very badly. Some aren't even fun! (chasing a car around the map, to deliver it for S)

 

RR is BORING, never grinded that, and i've already played this mission about 40 times. Its enough! How many missions do we have? Over 100, how many does it feel like? Maybe 20. 20 missions since release. No wonder we're playing them all over again. How many of these missions are fun AND pay well? 5?

 

2) I love deathmatches, but i also only get invited for these 10000RP&$ 'jobs' or fist fighting DM's. My favorites are Captures, you need to drive/fly, to shoot, maybe some tactics, AND teamplay. But nobody plays Capture. Sad!

 

3) Don't agree with you here, i am not saying im the best driver, but i still manage to ram nobody. Although i still like it with contact, its a part of motorsports. I am not talking about ramming, but blocking the way as example. Haven't played 'No Contact Races' often, but i imagine the faster car (Adder) will drive right thru you (Bullet) on a straight line, 99%.

 

4) More garages would be nice, and you could replace your cars, if you can't sell it. Or would the money loss from the sales hurt? Hopefully the next patch will resolve this.

 

5) Would love a new update, because weapons/cars get boring fast. We need some new missions, if not Heists. And i am not talking about 3-4. Or give us some mission creator... ( and damn, fix the capture creator already! )

Hey, two posts in, and you have your answer. I mean, you have your answer.

 

But, I see where you're coming from. It seems like you've exhausted everything that is the GTA online experience, but still enjoy certain aspects of the game, and that, perhaps, keeps you coming back for more.

 

Methinks that you're never going to recreate that feeling again, though... you know the one.

 

For me, and I just did this like at four in the morning... this morning... I started a new character, and I did not skip the tutorial. I made a poor attempt at recapturing the experience of playing GTAO for the first time, and failed... at reliving those moments, I mean.

 

GTAO is definitely more enjoyable with friends, and this is coming from someone who initially approached GTA Online with the intentions of playing it strictly solo, which I still do most of the time.

 

Yeah, I'm going to stop my digression, here.

 

So, start over with a new character, maybe?

 

Start up a paid service where you build and rank up characters for people who don't want to do it.

OP, from your original post where you said "both garages" are full. It sounds like you only have one character. My advice, make a second character.

I just made one a month ago, a female character this time (and it's really different how other players treat you but that's a whole other topic), and I've been trying to level her up, getting 20 new cars that I don't have on my first character, playing the game differently than I used to. I've made a ton of more friends so now there are always people online to play with. Plus when you join a quick job contact mission you rarely get RR (they skill match you so most of the time it's crappy Gerald or Simeon missions). You also gotta do all the races over again to unlock the upgrades.

 

I was sort of starting to get bored with GTAO but making that second character really saved the game for me. Plus now with all the DLC weapons, you're not stuck with a pistol and micro smg forever while people kill you with assault rifles and mg's. (Ah, the good ol days)

^ wow. A bit harsh and crude, don'tcha think? But I understand your dilemma. The only suggestion I have now is.. play another game. GTAO is dying, and it's gonna get worse.

Have you made a second character? Coz if not, sh*t is different from the beginning than on release. LS is a cold place for a low level. But if you start up and have a motive (backstory) it can put the mindless stuff into context and rejuvenate the game, you will hopefully start to care again.

 

Talking about rejuvenation have you tried playing any combination of no HUD(or just blips)/Free Aim/No player names.

This can totally change missions as you can't just keep an eyeball on your minimap, you end up being cautious around corners and looking for enemies etc etc dare I say it it can be more immersive.

 

Otherwise look for story based playlists that people have made. Vipprimo on xbox is a pioneer with these.

 

You could look for interesting created content too, I have had fun diggin up moto-trial races, rock-crawling races, rally races.

 

I have to say though you do sound totally jaded by the game and that would suggest you need to put it away for a bit.

buddy drink pisswassers & the last one is the winner. Yeah most of the things i listed have to have some people involved but thats the whole point of playing online. Playing alone online all the time isn't any fun and like the saying goes "Two heads are better then one". If you get a group of people, crew, friends or randoms, then you will have more creative minds to work with and will NEVER get bored believe me on that.

I think this post says it all. The limitless posibilities of things to do in this game you write off as not fun and you would rather go back to a game with basically nothing to do but cost free PVP.

 

To each his own I guess but there was no point in asking us the original question.
