Is Rockstar in a no win situation

Shutting the game down will not work (as far as I am aware) since a Patch is required to Update the Client side scripts which run locally on our consoles as evidently the current wave of exploits can not be Patched on the Server Side. So really the best move R* can make is release Update 1.16 ASAP to at least attempt to patch over the current exploits...Fundamentally I see this as a no win situation since R* touted GTA Online as a long term Project that would be constantly evolving and providing new game play to enjoy yet of late this has hardly been the case; possibly due the exploits that are being found in the game and similar.

 

At the end of the day, the biggest gripe for me and a lot of the community seems to be the lack of Information that R* is providing on Updates to GTA Online via the Newswire. IMO it is an utter embarrassment that the last two Updates were so accurately leaked without a word on the Newswire in advance of said release about their content.

Honestly I don't think R* gives a rats ass. They'll patch stuff when they can.

 

Last time they actually bothered to put in extra warning messages in the game - and a load window telling us all about banning / cheaters etc etc.

I haven't seen anything from them. I'd at least expect a "its naughty and we will ban j00" release on Newswire.

R* doesn't even bother to tell us what they're doing in the first place.

When they said Heists would be released on the end of Spring, no one complained about wanting Heists to be released in mid-April. They gave us a schedule, and they're presumably supposed to stick to it.

If R* were to tell us about what their priorities are set on, or that they acknowledge the problems that are there, then they wouldn't receive as much flak as they are getting now.

The best we can do is go to their Twitter, ask about something, receive a message about checking the Newswires, only to find posts about someone stunting or making art.

That said, R* has indeed gotten themselves in a no win situation. There is no possible outcome that can benefit them after this. The damage is already done.

 

The best they can do is wait for the 8th Gen Sales so that they can fill their pockets with dough a second time, release heists so people can finally shut up about them, and give up on their little money-milking cash-cow idea they had when they made GTA O with 'micro' (8 million dollars) transactions.

Rockstar obviously has their focus geared towards current gen systems (ps4 xbox1) as well as pc, as you all are aware by now we have been pretty much "beta testing" for the real GTAO that will be taking place and its quite obvious... PS3/Xbox360 are old systems and modders/hackers have their way with that as they please, Xbox1 and PS4 are newer systems and are much more difficult to hack/mod etc and even if so the PC version is going to be releases soon and nearly all modders/hackers will work their way on to that

 

And also Idk if its just me but the silence from Rockstar just tells me they have something big up their sleeves towards the upcoming current gen releases, the ps3 xbox360 is at that slowly dying stage as big gaming companies can only do so much with the limited capabilities... at least wait and see what they really have to show us (gtav on ps4 xbox1 pc) before saying they're in trouble

If they made all Lester and Pegussus abilities free and made it so you don't buy ammo but instead pick it up off gang attack or mission/job NPC's or allow you to rob ammunation to fill up and get a five star wanted level...money glitching would no longer matter to anyone as it would have no effect on anyone other than the glitcher.

How about shut the game down for a week or two and see what they can do to fix things,

doesn't matter if the game is running or not. The fixes are done completely on the side then applied in the patch. The more they keep it running, the more us, the ps3 beta testers(players) find the problems. Therefore the more experience R* gains, and the more fixes they can apply to ps4 before the release.

Just because R* said AFTER THE FACT that online is free doesn't mean it actually is. Pick up a physical copy of the game and look at the back. It does not say anything about Online being a free, non related experience. It purely states GTA V has online multiplayer capability. I paid for what the box told me was inside. Nothing less.
