If we get paid DLC before Heist...

Hell f*cking no, I'll probably "borrow" it from my friend through gamesharing but I'm not spending any money on this game, the $150 I gave them for the Collectors Edition was enough for R* and it was a huge ripoff both in what was in the box and in the damn game.

If they release a paid DLC before Heist or if the Heist update is a paid one, will you purchase it?

 

I won't be purchasing any DLC before they release Heist or Heist itself. If any of the two happens, I'll be selling my GTA V and R* would have lost another customer.

You've already bought the game at full price. Rockstar isn't losing anything.

I don't know for sure but I think if R* charges money for the heist dlc they'll possibly be breaking the "Canadian misleading advertising law", although it requires somebody to actually take them to court for anything to be done. There's actually a possibility that if you could find a large enough group of people that pre-ordered or bought GTAV after last August's GTAO announcement trailer but before GTAO was released in October that genuinely felt misled into purchasing the game because they expected these "heists" to be part of the game at launch, & they were willing to back up your case, then you might already be able to have R* charged for misleading advertising in Canada. Their penalty would most likely only be that they must release the "heists" as a free update sometime in the future, & failure to do so would result in a hefty fine (up to a max of $10,000,000 I believe), but unfortunately they would most likely get a lot more time before it's due than any of us are willing to wait for. Now on the off chance that they do attempt to charge money for it when it's released then it seems plausible that if customers that felt misled into purchasing GTAV decided to have R* tried in a Canadian court for "misleading advertising" that it would result in R* having to pay restitution to any misled customers and/or pay a large civil fine. Being as there are laws on this sort of thing I personally don't believe there is any chance R* will be charging money for the "heists" DLC whenever they finally decide to release it, & they definitely will release it eventually, there's just no guarantee that it'll actually live up to the expectations that any of us have for it.

 

I do agree with the OP that what we were led to believe was going to be available in GTAO at launch should be R*s priority. It would seem rather offensive to attempt charging us money for unexpected additions to the game prior to finishing the original product so it actually includes everything mentioned in their advertisements. Once the game is finished & properly represents the product mentioned in their advertisements then I will most likely buy all the additional content that they sell for GTAV/GTAO, but until the original game has been updated to include everything they previously told us to expect completely free of charge, I will be refraining from purchasing any additional content. You wouldnt buy more eggs from a store that charged you full price on a dozen carton that they knew only actually had 9 eggs inside when they sold it to you, right? You would demand they gave you the other 3 you paid for before you were willing to pay for any more, right? You wouldn't let a egg selling business rip you off, so stop & ask yourself why you would let a video game business do it. If you truly enjoy the GTA series as much as most of us that have been faithfully buying them since the top-down style GTA1, then don't enable the current developers to make a larger profit from selling empty promises or relying on undeserved hype, instead of making quality products, or GTA6 could be the start of us all watching the GTA series go down the same sad road as COD.

Heists, though? Seeing how they promised those would be included with the game before launch, I'll be very upset if they try to charge for those.

Since im still playing this game almost a year after release of course I would buy DLC. Anyone that is still playing that game who says they will sell/ snap their disc in half if Rockstar would dare to have the audacity to expect to be paid for new content really needs to get over their sense of entitlement

Paid DLC generally yes, but only at a reasonable price (same price for a car as a hot wheels car). For proper expansion then yes.

 

For the current run of DLC, especially heists probably not (since things like heists are supposed to be in the game). Environmental details already in the game should be left alone or opened for nothing extra IMO.
