Does anyone use the sniper the correct way?

Like do you ever take a heli and go onto a rooftop and just snipe people down?

I have been on a building right next to los santos customs just sniping people.

I have a Clear view of rockford plaza, ghetto towers street and ls.

My farthest was ghetto towers.

It's even more fun if you bring a friend who has a bounty on them to lure to you.

As in the correct way. Not trying to quick scope people in the street

I am surprised this question is even being asked. I have yet to be in a free mode session where the top of the Galleria or Eclipse Towers wasn't being camped by snipers.

I woud do that kind of sh*t maybe if at long ranges sh*t woudnt tend to glitch out

give me double the efective range and for sure, i woud observe everything while killing everyone that pulls out tanks and everyone that camps at LSC with the intention to kill other people :)

And of course bounties and people having a vehicle for simeon :p

But for now....i made many kills beyond the range were people start to get invisible, but yea...generaly it just doesnt feel good enough :/

Rooftop snipers get a cavalry knife between the ribs.

Off radar, halo jump, stabby stabby.

I snipe from the same spot, but it's a little pathetic to be popping people as they're coming out of LSC. I only do it if they're a red dot (they have it coming) or a bounty.

True snipers have a code. Otherwise you're just a douchebag greifer.

You are only good at sniping if you've taken people out of helicopters and jets 4 times on the same day and hour.

I usually stand on the maze bank and snipe people using airplanes from the airport, and also people in Ls customs and those trying to get helis.

My best snipe ever was sniping someone out of their jet, and the jet hit the tail of another helicopter, and I somehow got a bullet penetration when I sniped the pilot of the chopper and the gunner with the same bullet. This was done from the maze bank, and the guys were near the helipads that you could see down below.

Sounds like a load of hooey to me. I've never seen that many people in the air at one time on any server.

There's always people in the air on PS3. For some reason people are trying to use jets instead of tanks.

EDIT: Read the quote wrong, I meant taken 4 of either of them in one day. I switch servers a lot and sometimes people go back for jets sand helis to try to airstrike you, that's why

The correct use of a sniper rifle is using it to keep my ass alive

Usually I snipe if I have an high bounty, after taking a chopper to Maze Tower, most of the victims are bounty-wannabe-killers that come in Buzzard, or make the mistake of getting close on their cars...

Another funny thing is to go bounty hunting, instead. Landing a few blocks away from the prey house, and waiting with a great, great patience...because you are on a safe position and usually there are no other snipers around, it is very relaxing to scan the surroundings and waiting for the right moment (when the bounty comes out, or when another player thinks he is safe in that nearby alley)

But as they have already said, if I have to snipe someone that is taking cover and is just beyond the range of the assault rifle, I take the shoot, because he is probably doing the same, and better him than me

Nope, only you do that. You are unique and clearly much more intelligent that the rest of us idiots.

Sniping from rooftops can be fun, but it's not practical, efficient, or correct. You are skylining your body, head, and silhouette and allowing for an easy target. That's not how a sniper maximizes kills. You choose a vantage point that gives the greatest target view and gives protection from any attackers. So realistically you would do best to get in a high building on some high floors but don't rooftop it. Only go out on a semi-unprotected roof while going after choppers or jets.

"Correct" is subjective. There is no "correct" way.

If you want a real sniping challenge, go to the top of the Maze Bank Building and snipe people at LS Customs, that IS fun! :-) (only works with the heavy sniper)

You can't call yourself a sniper till you've taken a Cargobob out that's flying on the opposite side of the Alomo Sea and you're standing on the runway of the airstrip in the Grand Senora Desert..

(admittedly I did get a few kick votes and bitchin' over the open chat for that from the six passengers onboard at the time... )

Yeah I belive they do, but does anyone else have 8000+ player kills with the Combat Pistol is what I wanna know?

You can say that youre using a sniper rifle correctly when have this tattoo....

If not you´re a noob...

hmm according to my 3000+ sniper kills, why yes.. yes i am.

I snipe people exiting rr from several houses away. They always cry and I get kick votes. It's always worth getting kicked from a lobby when squeakers cry.

Ladies and gentlemen, find a way to get online and put these guys on your avoid lists, for they are truly, A-1 GTA BADASSES!

Yeah I like to go on top of building and after some kills people come to investigate and keep going around the building to see where I am. One time this guy sniped me from the hospital and after I killed him I flew to the building next to the hospital and sniped him till he got a helicopter and flew to a building and since I was behind my helicopter I saw it smoking so I knew he was sniping it from somewhere I could not see and I hid. He finally went to the helicopter place and picked up my pv which I left there with a cargobob. He went of radar but but I saw my pv on the mini map- thought someone was driving it but he dropped it but missed me. The he tried to crash the cargo bob into me but it don't kill me.

I RPGed him from to close and ended up killing him and myself.

To be honest, my sniper gets a lot more use in free-roam street level battles. Most of it's kills have been acquired through killing an enemy player, and then pulling it out waiting for them to spawn. If they make it to a rooftop, I pull it out too.

But the times where I roleplay and climb up fire escapes to the top of buildings in down town to snipe are the best. I remember once I was on top of the first tall building behind the downtown Ammunation and I waited for about ten minutes until a guy pulled up next to the hospital in Strawberry. His body didn't render, but I could see the stolen SUV he grabbed and I fired one round through the passenger window and got him. Success.

I find it very difficult to snipe running player at long distances. I'm on PS3 but I've also had a X-Box 360 and the controller on the X-box is way superior to PS3's.

A good place to snipe is on the roof of the safehouse next to the Epsilon building. From there one can snipe drivers going into LSC but also people all the way as far as one can see on the way going to the beach. It also provides opportunities to snipe people going to Eclipse towers.

I think the OP is confusing the words correct and bitch made. Hiding on a rooftop waiting for somebody to walk in front of your sniper scope because you are a pussy who has to resort to using cowardly tactics to get kills isn't the correct way to use a sniper rifle.

Hiding on a roof is almost on par with only using a tank in PvP then going passive until you are able to retrieve another tank.

That's the whole point of using a sniper rifle... running into wide open space with a bolt-action rifle is guaranteed death. With the lag, framerate spikes, draw distance, rendering, and the occasional "kill everything in sight" troll driving super cars and military vehicles, sniping people from a rooftop is the smart choice in this game.

You do realize we have no bolt action rifles. Both the sniper and heavy sniper are semi automatic. I do well using my sniper while on the ground without having to resort to cowardly tactics.

All but maybe one or two rooftop snipers I have run into this game are the definition of a pussy. Whenever they die they either go passive, run, or go get a tank.

Do you know what semi-automatic means?Yes I am well aware of what semi automatic means. I made a mistake when I typed that and didn't realize the regular sniper is bolt action because I threw it down a long time ago and haven't used it for ages.

Red's and bounties. Or zentorno drivers if that.

I remember being accused of hacking back when you could snipe people out of tanks.
