Does anyone use the sniper the correct way?

I do that sometimes but the draw distance can be terrible enough to make you blind at long distances

but... some things (such as gunfire) remain visible even at longer distances..

 

Done a few kills shooting where the gunshots have come from...

Hiding on a roof is almost on par with only using a tank in PvP then going passive until you are able to retrieve another tank.

The whole point of scoped rifles is long range kills with minimal risk to the sniper using it. See unlike you, not everybody is some insecure little prick who needs to be "manly" or "honourable" about getting their kills. That's why you are a loser, and will continue to be a loser.

I've once sniped somebody from inside the IAA building who was on the bridge right next to Weasel Plaza. Seeing the reticule turn red was a great feeling.

Of course this was only possible because they were in a car but still pretty cool if you ask me.

With the lag, framerate spikes, draw distance, rendering, and the occasional "kill everything in sight" troll driving super cars and military vehicles, sniping people from a rooftop is the smart choice in this game.

You do realize we have no bolt action rifles. Both the sniper and heavy sniper are semi automatic. I do well using my sniper while on the ground without having to resort to cowardly tactics.

All but maybe one or two rooftop snipers I have run into this game are the definition of a pussy. Whenever they die they either go passive, run, or go get a tank.

I know for a fact that the regular sniper is bolt action, your character even physically pulls the bolt back with each shot. Not sure about the .50 cal though.

I still stand by my comments about using roofs to kill people. It's not a big deal if you do it every so often but the people who just about exclusively camp roofs are some of the biggest bitches in the game. Most of them act like its a skill but I'm sorry hiding and taking cheap shots isn't skill

its not hiding. Lets put this in a way. 1. Moron in a adder comes down the street to take a bounty. 2. Sniper, takes a shot at a adder flying atleast 200 km/h down the street. Me using only a regular sniper it is hard to f*ck to kill that guy, and lets not forget it takes atleast 3 shot to kill said person.

Sniping from a roof is so obvious. Lust look up. Snipers are supposed to be hidden. OPs doing it wrong. Also the .50 is semi auto but the sound effect is of a bolt action due to laziness (the character does not pull the bolt back at all)

I use my sniper correctly. If youre on foot a block or more away. At almost any distance if you're in the air, and at 2-3 blocks distance if you're on foot and I'm on a roof....that's really the only effective way to use them. The latency from spannig left to right is really annoying which makes me resort to quick scoping.

The coolest thing I did with my heavy sniper was after I solo'd Rooftop Rumble. I spawned in the dirt road below Madrazo's house and killed a guy that was about to enter to the Eclipse Towers garage. I had no reason, I just wanted to see if I could do it. Meh, it wasn't that cool actually, it's not even hard to do. Later that guy came where I was and wanted to give me a ride, which I accepted. It was awkward.

I have recently turned into a rooftop ghost - it is hilarious when people go around the building looking for you. Most of the time others investigate adding to the target list. I like to use the really tall buildings downtown. I feel that crazy long distance kills are the most rewarding.

A lot. My favorite place to it is the top of Eclipse Towers, Great spot for getting anyone who respawns although I don''t kill them unless they're griefing others or if annoying everyone in the lobby by shouting down they're mic, Which is a lot of the time.
