RajunKjun
Ya think we will be able to blow holes through walls or crash through buildings on next gen? Next gta? Or the next nextgen? Or never?
CoronaPepsi
That'd be cool(ala Battlefield 3) but the biggest problem that I'd see with that is them people with tanks would just blow through walls and basically destroy anything(Meaning players that'd hide from tanks would be sitting ducks) so yeah it'd be cool but in restrospect nope lol
Maya Echo Visari
Ya think we will be able to blow holes through walls or crash through buildings on next gen? Next gta? Or the next nextgen? Or never? This won't happen on next gen GTA V, but give them a couple more games, maybe another console or two and who knows, we might see something that rivals Red Faction: Guerrilla or better. Rocket Skates
It would be pretty awesome to have that in game. I remember in one of the GTA V trailers where it shows the armored van getting rammed and then it busts through that low concrete wall all these speculation YouTubers were like "OMG destructibble enviroments konfirmed!" igotskiz
It'd ruin the gameplay in my opinion. Doesn't mean that I'm not supportive of semi-destructible environments (fences, tents, lightposts, trees, etc.) but going for walls and bridges would be a little unlike GTA. It would be great if trees or power-poles would break if you hit it with a tank or a plane, but then again the game is crime-centered, as opposed to destruction centered, such as Mercenaries or Battlefield. Hell, in Mercenaries 2, you could level skyscrapers, bridges, oil rigs and other huge structures. Great game. That's the only way I'd ever envision GTA having any kind of destruction engine. People would be recreating 9/11 on a massive scale. Edited August 13, 2014 by igotskiz
Maya Echo Visari
Inb4 Nuclear Bunker Buster strike^ Edited August 13, 2014 by SevDoggX
igotskiz
Nuclear Bunker Buster, despite being nuclear, wasn't even the biggest bomb in the game. Whatever the carpet bomb full of higher than ordinary explosives was, that was the best in the game. Wasn't a M.O.A.B, but something similar. Maya Echo Visari
It wasn't the most destructive, this I know, but good lord was it the most beautiful sight each time it detonated.
Red Lynx 23
Nukes from the original Starcraft. Though I also liked giving Zerglings speed boost, and after softening up a rival base's defenses, have a temporarily unallied partner's spidermines chase a Zergling or two right into their base. xX_HailHydra_Xx
that might not be until another 2 gens. With the limited capabilities of the ps3 it is not possible to create destructive enviornments due to the high intensity of graphics, gameplay, and controls within the current game. But i'd love to be able to blow holes in buildings
thebrianmo
Ya think we will be able to blow holes through walls or crash through buildings on next gen? Next gta? Or the next nextgen? Or never? YES!!!! I've said this all along. I think it would be cool if when we shoot buildings we cause actual damage. When I was in Michael's house the other day, I blew part of his kitchen wall apart with a sticky bomb so I know it's possible for R to let us do that. Turkey Shenanigans
It should be destructible like in Watch Dogs. In that game you can run over those bus stop benches with glass around it.
Butterfly57
No wouldn't fancy that. It's bad enough on public free roam with huge wars going on, getting shot just for happening by, tanks and those pesky modders without the buildings falling down on you too. Just keep as is with the odd fence or cactus destroyable. And those yellow pillars on the highway. That is good enough for me.
igotskiz
I agree with Butterfly57. Any more destruction would be rocky territory to visit, especially when it comes to coding and programming. That would lengthen the development cycle by a long time, and would, no doubt, take away from the main focus of the game. Crime simulator to terrorism reality game. A kitchen wall is much different compared to a skyscraper. Not to mention the aftermath, or how much processing power it would take to level something that big.
