Today alot of people thought there would be an update, im not bitching about hiests but i will say rockstar has 1 week till they lose a ton of players alot of kids go back to school and alot of of good games like Destiny are coming out, i cant speak for everyone but once destiny is out nothing will bring me back to gta. Do you guys and gals think rockstar is close to out of time to keep people playing there game?

 

The customer base will continue to decline because the game is old, and while bugs don't help, don't expect the audience to drop to 0 any time soon. Many years after it's release people were still doing GTA:IV multiplayer and it had much less options for online gameplay.

 

I would have appreciated an update from them though, at least so I know what they're planning. Are they even working heists? Are they even working on network complaints? etc etc

destiny is just a brink/BL hybrid and it not only plays like trash but the whole concept will suvive all of 2 months in the online world and then everyone will move on to the next rash remake and only the 9 hours+ a day guys will give a sh*t about destiny.....

Once the have a fix for the Mod menu's and god glitch we will get an update, till then we will have to wait, debugging a large code base like GTA Online takes time, then they have to test that fix, before they can ship it to MS/Sony..

I stop playing for months when Watch Dogs came (The first game I even platinum). Gta online will be collecting dust when Destiny comes out. I have to fill my COD void since i stopped playing that years ago.

I agree, i had tons of personal friends playing, now i get so bored as none of my friends play anymore, and all due to R8 problems, they couldnt handle the crap anymore, im the fool who still thinks theres hope but losing faith too quickly, i havent touched gtao for 3 days and this coming from a person who has been on EVERY single day since online was launched, i am actually enjoying Borderlands 2 again over GTAO lmfao!... not sure if ill go back, too many empty promises and too many modders and hackers ruin the game period...

While the game can be stale, it's far from being on life support. It has a plan B in the form of next gen, which will instantly breathe life into the game. Current gen got beta, end of story.

I'm forever loyal to Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. I would probably play GTAO if I was the last person left.

However, my friend list is turning into a bunch of traitors, for some unknown reason they've started playing Black Ops II like it just came out.

So, it's true they are losing players, but the reason I'm not sure.

I wanted an update just as much as the next player, but I trust that they have their reasons for when they do and when they don't release an update.

 

I have questions, as always:

1. We had even less options/activities than GTA IV's MP, why do we whine and cry bored so much with GTAO? I'm guilty, I played GTA IV deathmatch (and at pretty much the same three locations) for 5 (?) years straight.

 

2. Can we realistically expect Rockstar to keep releasing new content for GTAO? This is kind of up for grabs, because they've claimed that GTAO is an entity to itself and will continue to grow. What I'm trying to address is the current cycle where we get an update and play for a few weeks then cry boredom until the next update is released.

 

3. What is it that we want? Right now, for me, the only things missing are more map and major DLC (like TBOGT major).

With the exception of a small period where god modders got in to deathmatches earlier in the year,what has actually 'damaged' my experience:

- network errors

- very long load screens

- unnusual random delays between screens

- removal of quick restart

- continual reduction in mission payouts

- game freezes (mostly gone now)

- mini-freezes in free roam sessions

i would think they would support the game for a year to a year and a half, because of past history, but with the Xbox1/PS4 release i think we can expect longer if sales are good, I think even the people that don't move to next generation right away will still get the same updates, just lesser quality

Im not sure I can agree with you there. While I like the game and all I WILL NOT be buying it for next gen. They cant even keep up on current gen so why would you trust them to do a better job on a new console which they havent used before?

 

While I hate to see the game in the current state it is. I just cant support R* a the moment. Its not the no updates or content that gets to me. Its the sheer lack of any thought process while doing the payouts and the lack of attention they are paying to the glitches that are detremental to the game itself. I seen so many modders and glitchers in the game its honestly left me with a sour taste in my mouth. Wall breaches that havent been patched for over 6 months.... Cmon this is a joke right?

 

While I think R* are a decent company that do make great single player games this GTAO has fallen a long way short of the mark for me so I will vote with my wallet and not buy the game a 2nd time. Ill probs just bootleg it until I feel its worth the money then Ill pay for a legit copy

What R* really needs to do is wrestle back control of their game from all the glitchers, modders, and hacks. Once they finally do that, then they prob need to do a money wipe of the modded cash and not until all that is done will you see an update.

 

Yeah we're all getting a little bored, but I'd rather them deal with these p*ssy b*tch god moders and eliminate them from the game rather than release some mediocre dlc that I'll be bored with in a week
