Any of you guys freezing when driving at mid to high speeds?

It happens so f*cking much now. It will freeze for about 5 seconds and then it will unfreeze eventually causing me to lag behind. Others just drive right past me while I freeze like a bitch and lag behind. Textures are struggling to load as well.

I had a similar problem.

I tried a reinstall, but didn't work, then after someone suggested it on here, I deleted everything from my hard drive then reinstalled and this worked.

No it didn't and buying a new ps3 won't help ;( and before anyone says connection issues, not a chance as it's family who connected me and has checked it multiple times.

If you open up your machine and clean all the dust and hair and whatnot out, it may stop your freezing permenantly.

I'm fairly confident it's related to someone being in the lobby, and the connection between you being too slow. I was in a session by myself racing at full speed no worries, then all of a sudden my lobby loaded up (like 10 people came in) - and it was back. I just kind of ignore it now

This happens often for me. Though, I'd rather have this minor issue than completely freezing and having to restart the PS3.

Micro freezes have been happening allot. I've been hard freezing, but I think my Laser on the Blu Ray drive is dying. Took it apart cleaned the laser not freezing as much, but it's definitely on its last leg. 7yr old PS3 fat, and this is the first problem I've ever had with it. Now I have to find a new replacement drive on ebay.

console limitations. Old GPU loads textures very slowly, and it needs time to catch up (freeze)

Its the NETWORK connection. The console is fine.

I used to have this months ago in Online. What I did was delete my HDD's system cache. It fixed the issue completely.

If it happens in SP or solo sessions - then yeah something is messed up.

But I only get it in public lobbies with other players. I think my disc has been removed from the X360 only one or two times since I got it (no other games I currently play on the console) - so the disc is like new.

i get it when i'm doing 10 + mph. fixed it for ya. I too have the same issue. It wasn't the case back in 2013

Two ways i personally know have worked:

 

1. Delete game file and reinstall.

 

2. Open console and clean out dust, hair, etc most people have never done this.

 

I never ever freeze, but i have friends that have fixed theirs with these 2 methods, but not all freezing is caused by the same thing as you can see from all the different answers.

Console limitations. I only get this when I'm driving very fast in a straight path, and it does piss me off when I'm chasing someone.

Consider yourself fortunate 'cause when I freeze, it never unfreezes until I turn the console off.
