Why do people glitch and cheat?

I hate the "don't have time to-" that is such a weak bs justification. If you don't have time, don't play till you do.

 

Now that I have gotten that out of my system.

 

In the early days, when tanks were a real threat. I despised glitchers, now and days tanks go down in four RPGs and all is right in the world. Like everything in the world, there is two sides for everything. You got your nice pretty cool glitchers and modders that can make the game fun, and your douche bag glitchers and modders that go out of their way to ruin your fun.

But people lump in the cool glitchers/modders in with the cheaters/glitchers/god mode that ruin the fun together.

I'm not sure why people do god mode glitch, I don't really see the point of playing the game if I was immortal.

 

I started glitching money because the game was getting boring to me. The game's contents isn't as fleshed out compare to the single player. So to extend the game's life for me I started to buy everything I wanted. It extended the game from novemeber to about march. Now I only show up from time to time since I have more interesting games to play/things to do.

Cheating is relative.

 

Like, I mean cash cards are cheat cards. If one person has to spend hours to get $1 million and the other one can just go buy a cash card, how is this different from the guy selling the same car over and over again? Rockstar has deemed cash cards as a legit way to get cash in THEIR game. This is what I mean by cheating is relative.

 

That being said, I don't know what pleasure one can get from a video game if everything comes without effort. The same people that glitch are the same people complaining the game is boring. Maybe I'm just old-school in this aspect, but I love seeing a huge number in that upper right corner after grinding missions and deathmatches for an hour. I love finding a way to mess up that annoying camper in deathmatch without god mode.

 

The question has been answered already and the bottom line is: cheaters gone cheat.

Don't forget some just use god mode to mess around, like skydiving from really high up no parachute, or mess around in the military base.

Doesn't it sort of take the away the whole point of the game? In any game really, not just GTAO.

But isn't the point of the game is to have fun? If half the sh*t that's fun to play with is locked or cost alot of $$ doesn't that take the away the whole point of the game?

I understand if grinding for hours is some peoples definition of fun... But some people don't have those hours, and let's be honest it DOES take hours to get money/rank to get the things you want.

 

I'm talking about glitching though, hacking and stuff is a whole other story

After work and social life I can only play online for a couple of hours per week and I'm not going to use that to grind.

I glitched myself to lvl 230 with several different AFK RP glitches over the last few months and glitched myself money.

Now I can just screw around for those couple of hours a week and play how I want.

 

I am in amazement at some of the reasons some people here are coming up with about people who use glitches. You guys must have a lot of spare time on your hands to be thinking of that! Its funny that a lot of you seem to link glitching to penis size!!!

My Gameshark, and pro action replay agree with you... Though I was mainly using those to see areas that the game wouldn't allow me. And I did do the beer hat trick. That is it though. I don't do the money things, or god mode stuff.

Once you said you glitched the hats, it was over.

 

You admitted cheating. Now all your stats dont mean sh*t because you cheated the game. You might say you only cheated to get a hat but if you went that far to cheat to get a stupid hat then how can we trust you didnt cheat tp get something actually worth risking your account over?

Glitching money is for instant gratification retards. You don't even need that much money in GTA online. I rarely have more than $100,000 in my players pocket. I've made 6.5 million and spent 6.4 million since I started playing in February. I have the 480k apt and the 250k apt which I only needed a few days to save up money for. I managed to save 1.1 million once which I blew on a Zentorno and it's mods for racing. The only other vehicles I've bought is the Carbo, Blade, Ruffian, and double-T. The rest of my garage are stolen street cars and they are fully modded for the most part, tho only two or three have any armour upgrade, bullet proof tires, tire smoke etc. All my guns that I use have upgrades but I haven't bothered with tints. I've also never "grinded" for any of these things.

Maybe it's cause I don't need or want every super car available, or tank, airplane etc that I don't see the need to bitch about low payouts and such but even if I did and glitched to get all this stuff in a day or two then this game would lose my interest just as fast.

You act like you are someone of great importance and youu are more important than everyone that reads these forums. I suggest to glitch as much money as possible, even if you don't need it. You can always use it to send mercenaries, or put bounties on the "glitching police" that meet on this topic

Greed and self indulgence is my reasoning. Someone a few posts up made a good point, cheating is relative. Ever look up a walkthrough guide? Isn't that technically cheating? Using cheat codes? Most people are hypocrites when it comes to this kind if thing. Truth is cheating can be a positive, keep people interested and engaged in a game as well as helping developers identify flaws or areas where gameplay isn't sufficiently rewarding.

 

Personally I draw the line at anything giving me a pvp advantage but I understand some people get a kick out of being dicks. Hopefully this will lessen for a while on next gen.

What is so challenging about Missions? Doing the same thing over and over? If RS can make a even more difficult mission/level, I would be pleased. And I don't take races and DMs seriously. BF4/COD/Halo/etc. and other racing games fill that desire.
