Why do people glitch and cheat?

Ok to start with, theres a difference in cheating and glitching. Albeit a fine line.

I got tired of farming Rooftop Rumble when I could be having fun with crew mates screwing around in FR and not have to worry about money. I thought the same as you, why bother glitching money, it takes away the progression in the game. It was around May/June that I thought screw this, I cant be bothered to come home from work IRL and then do more work in a video game.

I only glitch for money and even then, its only like 100k at a time and have never had more than $4mil in my account at once so I rarely even do it. I would never glitch though to cheat and get an advantage over other people such as godmode or similar. As long as I can fund our FR shenanigans, thats what I'll do.

You have to be more specific with glitching etc. Using a glitch to paint the sovereign a different colour other than that American flag is that really so bad? On the other hand godmode assholes are ruining lobbies. Are modders bad? Probably most of them but not all i spent hours in a private lobby using mods and making the game more fun for us. I support money glitching to a point Im not spending hours grinding missions or spending money on cash cards just to have enough cash to buy some completely f*cking overpriced item like a 30,000 dollar mask gimme a break. But Im also not going to sit there and glitch millions just enough so i can eliminate the boring part of the game it is a game after all and Im not going to bore myself stupid grinding missions so i can afford that 700k dollar car.

And to people saying its delaying sh*t get a f*cking clue you think the same team of people that run bug fixing also does game development and design?

Hey, here is a clue, its not about what dev teams they have, its about them not releasing anything of importance until everyone playing the game is on equal financial footing. Some people are just too damned ignorant to understand that I guess. R* has stated that they want it so everyone plays to earn money and no one can just insta-buy everything because of a glitch. It undermines the entire economic system of the game. Hell they even put something in for those that didn't want to grind. You are circumventing the entire system and you are not smart enough to understand how that is affecting R*'s decision to release more content that requires GTA$.

.An economy or economic system consists of the production, distribution or trade, and consumption of limited goods and servicesby different agents in a given geographical location. The economic agents can be individuals, businesses, organizations, or governments. Transactions occur when two parties agree to the value or price of the transacted good or service, commonly expressed in a certain currency.

Please please please explain what the gta online economy is? I included a definition of economy for you as well. and don't foget to justify the ability to buy endless amounts of cash cards which would also give you millions of gta dollars.

I am well aware of what constitutes an economy. Like you provide a service for a fee. The money collected is used for a variety of things in game, it is an economy, albeit a limited one. The things you buy with GTA$ are used to compete against other players. That is why glitching money is bad for everyone who don't cheat for money.

Yes they have cash cards, they are there for people who don't have time or don't want to take time to earn GTA$ the long drawn out way. Glitching money bypasses those, that effects the real world economy because it involves them giving you GTA$ in exchange for cash.

Because all the ways to earn money are boring and I've done them a thousand times.

I play the game to have fun and my definition of fun isn't repeating the same thing over and over again.

Doesn't it sort of take the away the whole point of the game? In any game really, not just GTAO.

Perhaps in your opinion.

Is it that bad to want to have fun in a video game?

Edit: I just read some of the posts on this thread.

Jesus f*ck guys, calm down. No need to curse every money glitcher in the world to hell. Play in invite only lobbies with friends, if you hate these money glitchers and god moders so much.

And stop with calling people weak minded.

Funny how people think that glitching for money is ok because they cant be bothered to do missions or w/e...

You dont realise your a big part of the problem, do you?

Its not only lazyness at its finest but it puts the economy of the game (the PvP side of things) out of balance. You glitch to get cash for a car or mask or gun or to refill your ammo or buy a buzzard...the average joe who doesnt care to exploit the game to fulfil shallow desires for polygonal produce is playing normally, fairly when he stumbles into a super rich, lazy, entitled mobster who not only has an almost infinite supply of ammo and top notch weaponry but also access to a wide array of vehicles so the outcome is a given. Money glitchers, if so honest about wanting to play with their toys...should realize the drastic change of playing field they impose by doing so and should either opt out of public rooms or realise the rest of the population doesnt want to be spawn killed into a firefight every damn minute. If you played like the legit of us you couldnt afford to keep your ammo at max all the time, throwing stickies out your 200mph bulletproof supercars etc. Dont get me wrong, i like a firefight as much as the next guy but really only on a level playing field...there has to be some chance, you know? at some point ill run out of ammo or youll destroy enough of my cars i cant afford to get them out...does that drive me to glitch free cash. No it just makes me wants to play something where the community is a bit more friendly. No wonder the worlds f*cked!

More words....They are loosers, or generally weak minded people that have nothing in life. Video games is what they do to get away from it all and when they play they want the ability to have everything and be the best at any cost because IRL they suck at everything and have nothing. So they glitch to make up for it.

Uhm... i think people like u talking sh*t like this are weak minded and suck analyzing random people behaviors...

I'm generally not in cheating/glitching at all... but after giving much afford in GTA5/GTAO for months... it's just for the lulz trying out harmless glitches or getting some play-money for my 2nd char.

CU around my friend

:D

Your post proves how weak minded you are. You simply cannot understand how destructive the money glitches and other stuff really are to GTAO. Go ahead and attack, truth is if you had a life you wouldn't be glitching money for a second character in a game. That's like saying, "Hey, I'm bored and have no life, I cant come up with anything else to do so why don't I make another character in GTAO! But I don't want to go through all the trouble of making money sooo efffit, I'll just glitch my way through" Not realizing that the glitches are not harmless in any way.

I don't work in video games for pixels. I don't want to play the same mission over and over for pixels.

Glitching ftw.

I started glitching when the LSC bike glitch worked. The only reason why I did it was because of the job pay cuts and it took forever to make money.

Not in GTAO but in other games, I have taken advantage of glitches to bump up my level or my finances.

Why?

Because in every single case I have already done everything there is to do and I've done it nine ways to Sunday. I want some of the experience of the game again but I don't want to grind anything (been there, done that, good day sir) because I have already done it countless times. It's not laziness or boredom or a sense of entitlement - it's impatience, pure and simple.

In GTAO, I've spent countless hours grinding money and RP and I've done it for two characters. When my bank account in-game zeroes out (and it will because I don't do jobs anymore but I keep spending), you can bet your sweet patootie that I'm going to glitch money and I'll do it without shame, loud and proud and directly in your face, gonzo porn style.

Oh, the sad irony.

Yet you "repeat" the same glitches and cheats over and over and over again...

The excuses are getting weaker and weaker. Try harder to defend your bullsh*t behavior, it humors me. :)

^ to be fair repeating glitches over and over isn't remotely like repeating missions, there's no comparison - 15 mins of glitching and you're a millionaire - 15 mins of grinding missions and you might be able to afford a haircut and a horn for your faggio

Well, OP you didn't specify which glitch we do, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

I do the character customization glitch because this game doesn't give me the option to tweak my character when I want to.

If there's SP-MP, I'll do that too because I get scraps as far as money goes. This game doesn't compensate me correctly for the work & effort I put in, so.. if it's a money glitch, then I'll do a little bit of it.

Giantsgiants

Because they want easy money.

But I have a feeling that many glitchers don't need the money or RP. Those glitchers probably glitch to give R* the middle finger for all the changes they have done, such as nerfing payouts, taking away custom crew emblems, etc.

The second a game becomes a chore is the second I put the disc away and put another one in the console - it's that simple. If anyone doesn't like the way I keep the game fun *for myself* then that's their problem, not mine. And before someone tells me that it's not fun to play it the way I want to, just remember the fact that we're all individuals with different thoughts and opinions, none of which we chose. Show me the kittens that have been killed by my gitching money and I'll stop, otherwise get over it because it's not gonna stop.

I spent maybe 2-3 hours glitching before it got patched, I've still got over 12M left after buying a bunch of new cars for my second character.

2-3 hours doing missions would've netted me what, 2M at best?
