I mute everyone, so I've never had to experience people playing music over their mics, thankfully. But in regards to your second question, yes, I do have a playlist I use when playing Online. I mainly use it for survival games, races, and other such missions that are long and don't require much focus. It's mainly composed to EDM, rock, dancehall, or pretty much anything I can groove to. You'd be surprised at how much fun killing things online while dancing in real life can be.

Well its annoying to say the least but as i muted someone listening to bieber (im assuming he was trolling(** well im hoping))

I thought to myself what If I was that asshole. So i grabbed my USB and started pumping my sounds straight into my mic and to my surprise I actually got more likes than haters. I was playing black sabbath, Iron maiden, Metallica, acdc and some other rock songs and people (older) actually enjoyed it and said it fits the theme of the game.

 

It took me awhile to put this playlist together awhile back and I was wondering if anyone else has the same sort of thing where they made a playlist basically for GTA. If you do what styles/artist do you prefer?

 

Personally I have about 3/4 pumping for gunfights ands nail biting races but then i have some lynard skynard and more relaxing sounds to chill out and cruise on my bagger.

i dont mind people have their music on if its good quality. i like nearly every genre. but when the quality is bad i turn my angerfist playlist on. and at the same time i blow through my mic. try them to teach the lesson that they should mute themselves when they play music with a bad mic. most of the time it doesnt work but sometimes it does.

The point I was trying to make is that there's a huge difference between mainstream rap, and original hip-hop. And that all genres of music has horrible artist affiliated with it. (Some maybe more than others) Maybe I worded my sentence wrong earlier but you should get the idea now.

 

And if you don't like rap that's fine but you still don't know a damn thing about it.

I'm sure I know more about rap/hip hop than you. I was around for the start of hip hop, I'm an 80's baby and grew up on that. Now I can't stand it, and I hate listening to it. Just search and look for rappers you might not listen to and you'll see what I'm talking about.

Here is why muting is an annoying option...

 

I've been in the room for about an hour... You just come in blasting Papoose (Which wouldn't bother me, who even listens to Papoose on this board? I haven't since GTA IV...) Your blasting of underground hip hop is messing with me and my communication with this new player I met that isn't on my friend list. If I pause to mute you, I get killed by the dude I'm pursuing. While I'm yelling over the music to my friend to watch my back he is saying "Huh? what?...." and gets killed. Finally after five or two deaths we have you muted, but it SEVERELY disrupted our game, and mojo. All because a lame-ass thinks it's SO FUNNY, to play skrillex, or t-pain over the mic. Really?

 

 

And as far as musical tastes go, I enjoy a wide array including country, folk, and americana, so music taste isn't what bothers me... What does is I have a radio in game, and I don't wanna hear what you are listening to, and if you are enjoying your music so much keep it to yourself.

I agree... But I've never been killed by the guy with the music in his/her mic. BUT... they could be helping the people out I've been pursuing. I'll never know because while they have a mic, they use it to play music over it, and not to banter back and forth as if we are "in" the game world.

For more relaxed times, I listen to stuff like La Dispute or The Wonder Years. I vary sometimes, but I stick mostly to this. I never play it over the mic though, cause I know i'd get a bunch of whiny people telling me to turn off the "screamo"
