After running into modders for every session I joined this evening, I began to wonder: has anyone ever seen a "good" hacker/modder on GTAO, one who isn't a complete d**kwad that spends his or her time ruining other player's games?

 

Second, has anyone considered what happens when two hackers run into each other in a session and don't work together to troll everyone else? Is there such things hacker vs hacker fights: battles of biblical-digital proportions, does the game explode, ... or does nothing happen at all? Are some hackers stronger than others? Any input from the hackers/modders on the GTAF (yes, we know you exist) would be much appreciated.

Hackers vs Hackers no, script kiddies vs script kiddies probably though they wouldn't be capable of doing sh*t to each other since they only copied other peoples work and only know what to do thanks to UI created by an actual hacker.

Hacker vs. Hacker--YES. In a lobby with a friendly hacker who was not killing anyone. One of my friends got killed by another hacker in god-mode and complained about it (he had a mic). The friendly hacker then went to war with the other guy. They were going at each other for about 30 minutes, rotating between putting each other in the "cower" position or with their "hands up". One was talking in the mic to their friends about the modder they were battling. That's a very interesting story. I'd love to see a lobby where there's two modders having a war of epic proportions. Meteors falling from the sky, huge explosions occuring at random across the city, them sending armies of NPCs against each other, etc.. Don't think that would ever happen, though. 99% of people who have access to mod menu's aren't creative enough to do anything like that, sadly.

Never thought I would see it to be honest. It was kind of funny because they couldn't kill each other so it was just a war of attrition. The one guy was just much more stubborn than the other. He had to keep mashing buttons to keep the other guy in the "hands up" position for that long. The bad guy modder finally got tired of standing in place and left the lobby. Got a good laugh out of that one.

Hmm. Saw two godmodders going at it in a similar way last week. They couldn't be killed so instead they just kept trying to beat each other down with nightsticks and baseball bats. Eventually one got the other on the ground and just kept whacking him (so he couldn't get up) for about five minutes.

 

And then a guy in a tank came and killed everyone, as usual.

I think a White Hat Hacker would be someone that finds ways to modify the game but notifies Rockstar the problem instead of making it public for all to abuse.

there is nothing rockstar can do now to prevent mods on PS3, with real time modding its impossible to stop. Blame sony

Actually, yes.

 

There was someone I used to know who could hack but had it in defense or to scare the children that thought they could hack.

 

Whenever he encountered a kid using some scripts to cheat on a game he would reset that persons account to level 1 and make it so their description and motto and such said "Grow up and play fair"

 

and he would only do funny mods and only in private games

I called out for the white hats on Rockstar support forum and some guy preached to me how calling more cheaters to defeat other cheaters was wrong.

Like we really do need some white knights that we can call into a session to fight off the annoying ones. Now that I think about this, what happens when two modded consoles go up against each other?

 

I'll pretty much stay in invite only until ps4.

A friend of mine uses his Jailbroken PS3 to mod (script) online. Last time I played with him he went around in lobbies making people doing glitches, like godmode, do the "NPC walk". Their character would be stuck playing an animation until they left the session.
