I do, but I rarely talk (Bought the headset like a week ago and I think I've said 4-6 short sentences top).

I'm very insecure when in comes to talking, mostly because I've never had someone to talk to in english, so the result is a heavy accent with an occasional stutter, making it hard to understand sometimes. (My primary language isn't english if you didn't catch that, I live in South America).

So I just put my headset on mute and listen others talking.

 

Same here, I live in Asia and English is not my mother language (I speak Cantonese), I use it couple time in GTAO. Although I could understand 85% of what's people talking, I could also speak with the other too however I can't express myself sometime because I don't know the vocabulary of that thing i wanna say.

I always wear mine, but its usually on mute. I do this for reasons outlined in this story:

 

I was once doing my own thing, on foot, when a car full of players started coming my way. I heard "Lets kill that one" over the headset. I pulled out my Combat MG and killed all 4 as they rode up to me. The rest of the time I listened to these 4 tards actually discussing tactics and trying to coordinate to kill me. Little did they know I heard everything they were saying.I heard one say "I'm calling my tank" so I followed him, killed him and took it. I continued to blast all 4 players until they quit. Good times. Always keep a headset on. Needless to say I was not the one who left that encounter mad.

Only use the headset with friends, I used to use it online when it was first released. But after all the background noise/squeakers/singers/talking trash I quit lol

I'll be honest, I couldn't think of anything worse than having gtao players in my ear the whole time. It's bad enough through my tele, if I had whiney french children with hip hop music too loud and speaking with the mic almost in their mouth, coming through my ear piece, I would probably snap the thing. Honestly, I played it about a week ago in a race, and there was a kid griefing on "arms race" and he sounded exactly the same as Jerry's cousin Nibbles from Tom & Jerry

As for me, I usually have my Mic available, but only really use it to talk to friends and crew members. Sometimes I might switch to all chat to hear what's going on in an open lobby, but I don't get involved in the bitching.

 

Fortunately, I have an Astro mixamp, which allows me to quickly adjust the volume of in game chat, from 100% volume all the way down to nothing, all whilst leaving the rest of the game sound in place.

Yeah, I have one and I use it only with friends. Oh, and I say some short sentences when I play missions with randoms (specific cases, like people blowing up the last couple of cars with professionals in Rooftop Rumble -which makes us fail the mission- or people attacking the Cargobob in Coveted, things like that).
